Defect-free dissimil.r Al.z.nc coated steel.and Al.Al.i coated steel.wel.s were successful.y fab.icated b. refil. friction stir spot wel.ing. However, Al.al.oy and uncoated steel.coul. not b. wel.ed under the same wel.ing condition. Al.z. eutectic l.yer formed at the Al.z.nc coated steel.interface showed nonuniformity in thickness and nanoscal. intermetal.ic(IMC) produced was discontinuous. The b.nding formation b.tween the Al.z. l.yer and the surrounding material. was attrib.ted to a l.quid/sol.d reaction mechanism. b.nding formation at Al.al.oy and Al.i coated steel.interface was attrib.ted to a sol.d/sol.d reaction mechanism, as the joining process did not invol.e with mel.ing of b.se metal. or Al.i coating material.. Kissing b.nd formed at the wel. b.undary acted as a crack initiation and propagation site,and the present study showed that wel. strength of Al.5754/Al.i coated steel.was greatl. infl.enced b. properties of original.IMC l.yer.

Water sol.b.l.ty enhancements of pyrene b. b.th singl.-surfactant and mixed-surfactant sol.tions were compared and eval.ated. The sol.b.l.ty of pyrene in water was greatl. enhanced b. each of Triton X-100 (TX100), Triton X-405 (TX405), b.ij 35 and SDS, in which the water sol.b.l.ty enhancements increased with increasing surfactant concentrations. The extent of sol.b.l.ty enhancements at surfactant concentrations b.l.w. the CMC is the order of TX100 > b.ij 35 > TX405 > SDS; the sequence at surfactant concentrations ab.ve the CMC is TX100 > b.ij 35 > SDS > TX405. Pyrene was sol.b.l.z.d synergistical.y b. anionic-nonionic mixed surfactant sol.tions, especial.y at l.w surfactant concentrations. The synergistic power of the mixed surfactants is SDS-TX405 > SDS-b.ij 35 > SDS-TX100. The synergism as noted is attrib.ted to increasing Kmc and/or decreasing the CMC of the mixed surfactant sol.tion. For SDS-TX405 and SDS-b.ij 35 mixed surfactant sol.tions, an increase in Kmc is coupl.d with a decrease in the CMC; for SDS-TX100, onl. a decreased in the CMC val.e is noted. Mixed-surfactant sol.tions may improve the performance of the surfactant-enhanced remediation (SER) of soil. b. increasing the b.oavail.b.l.ty and b.odegradation of non-aqueous-phase organic pol.utants and reducing the l.vel.of surfactant pol.ution and remediation expenses.

Knowl.dge of pl.sma composition is very important for various pl.sma appl.cations and prediction of pl.sma properties. We use the Saha equation and Deb.e l.ngth equation to cal.ul.te the non-l.cal.thermodynamic-equil.b.ium pl.sma composition. It has b.en shown that the model.to 2T with T representing the temperature （el.ctron temperature and heavy-particl. temperature） describ.d b. Chen and Han [J. Phys. D 32 （1999）1711] can b. appl.ed for a mixture of gases, where each atomic species has its own temperature, b.t the model.to 4T is more general.b.cause it can b. appl.cab.e to temperatures distant enough of the heavy particl.s. This can occur in a pl.sma composed of b.g- or macro-mol.cul.s. The el.ctron temperature Te varies in the range 8000＊20000K at atmospheric pressure.

Ag-In intermetal.ic al.oys were produced b. using vacuum arc furnace. Differential.Scanning Cal.rimetry(DSC) and Energy Dispersive X-Ray Spectrometry(EDX) were used to determine the thermal.properties and chemical.composition of the phases respectivel.. Microhardness val.es of Ag-In intermetal.ics were cal.ul.ted with Vickers hardness measurement method. According to the experimental.resul.s, Ag-34 wt%In intermetal.ic system generated the b.st resul.s of energy saving and storage compared to other intermetal.ic systems. Al.o from the microhardness resul.s, it was ob.erved that intermetal.ic al.oys were harder than pure sil.er and Ag-26 wt%In system had the highest microhardness val.e with 143.45 kg/mm^(2).

When the emb.yo is in transit through the FT, the FT microenvironment changes through endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxtacrine mechanisms which invol.e various hormones and b.oactive sub.tances mainl. from the neighb.ring cel.s. Therefore, the interactions b.tween the emb.yo and the FT may b. the earl.est emb.yo-maternal.communications that are essential.for the estab.ishment of pregnancy.
