In this work,we investigate a static and spherical.y symmetric b.rdeen-Kisel.v b.ack hol.(b.)with the cosmol.gical.constant,which is a sol.tion of the Einstein-non-l.near Maxwel. fiel. *** compute the quasinormal.frequencies for the b.rdeen-Kisel.v b. with the cosmol.gical.constant due to el.ctromagnetic and gravitational.*** varying the b. parameters,we discuss the b.havior of b.th real.and imaginary parts of the b. quasinormal.frequencies and compare these frequencies with the Reissner-Nordström-de Sitter b. surrounded b. quintessence(RN-dSQ).Interestingl.,it is shown that the responses of the b.rdeen-Kisel.v b. with the cosmol.gical.constant and the RN-dSQ under el.ctromagnetic perturb.tions are different when the charge parameter q,the state parameter w and the normal.z.tion factor c are varied;however,for the gravitational.perturb.tions,the responses of the b.rdeen-Kisel.v b. with the cosmol.gical.constant and the RN-dSQ are different onl. when the charge parameter q is ***,compared with the gravitational.perturb.tions,the el.ctromagnetic perturb.tions can b. used to understand nonl.near and l.near el.ctromagnetic fiel.s in curved spacetime *** interesting ob.ervation is that,due to the presence of Kisel.v quintessence,the el.ctromagnetic perturb.tions around the b.rdeen-Kisel.v b. with the cosmol.gical.constant damps faster and oscil.ates sl.wl.;for the gravitational.perturb.tions,the quasinormal.mode decays sl.wl. and oscil.ates *** al.o study the refl.ction and transmission coefficients al.ng with the ab.orption cross section in the b.rdeen-Kisel.v b. with the cosmol.gical.constant;it is shown that the transmission coefficients wil. increase due to the presence of Kisel.v quintessence.

b.ckground: In Sub.Saharan Africa, pre-ecl.mpsia remains a major heal.h prob.em contrib.ting to high rates of maternal.mortal.ty. Despite this condition having adverse effects on maternal.and chil. heal.h, its preval.nce and associated risk factors are stil. significant, especial.y in devel.ping countries incl.ding Ghana. This study aimed to assess the preval.nce and demographic distrib.tions associated with pre-ecl.mpsia among pregnant women at the Ho Teaching Hospital. Methods: A facil.ty-b.sed retrospective study was conducted b. reviewing avail.b.e data or hospital.records of pregnant mothers admitted to the l.b.r and maternity wards from January 2018 to Decemb.r 2020. Al. pregnant women who were diagnosed with pre-ecl.mpsia within this period were incl.ded in the study. The data were col.ected using a structured checkl.st. Resul.s: 5609 data on pregnant women from 2018 to 2020 were recorded. Out of the 5609 data recorded, 314 pre-ecl.mpsia cases were recorded giving an overal. preval.nce of 5.6%. The yearl. preval.nce for 2018, 2019, and 2020 were 4.6%, 5.6%, and 6.6%, respectivel.. The most recorded pre-ecl.mpsia cases were seen among women within the age group of 18 - 24 years. The data showed that 112 (35.7%) of the pregnant women who had pre-ecl.mpsia were nul.iparous. Pre-ecl.mpsia-associated maternal.and fetal.compl.cations were;preterm del.very 221 (70.4%), intrauterine fetal.death 62 (19.7%), ecl.mpsia 9 (2.9%), HEl.P syndrome 5 (1.6%) and maternal.death 17 (5.4%). Associated factors of pre-ecl.mpsia were parity, l.vel.of education, and occupation (p ≤ 0.05). Concl.sion: The findings of this study showed a rising trend in the incidence of pre-ecl.mpsia over the years at the Ho Teaching Hospital. Parity, l.vel.of education, and occupation were found to b. associated with devel.ping pre-ecl.mpsia.

The poor corrosion and wear resistances of Mg al.oys seriousl. l.mit their potential.appl.cations in various *** conventional.epoxy coating easil. forms many intrinsic defects during the sol.dification process,which cannot provide sufficient *** the current study,we design a doub.e-l.yer epoxy composite coating on Mg al.oy with enhanced anti-corrosion/wear properties,via the spin-assisted assemb.y *** outer l.yer is functional.z.d graphene(FG)in waterb.rne epoxy resin(WEP)and the inner l.yer is Ce-b.sed conversion(Ce)*** FG sheets can b. homogeneousl. dispersed within the epoxy matrix to fil. the intrinsic defects and improve the b.rrier *** Ce fil. connects the outer l.yer with the sub.trate,showing the transition *** corrosion rate of Ce/WEP/FG composite coating is 2131 times l.wer than that of b.re Mg al.oy,and the wear rate is decreased b.~90%.The improved corrosion resistance is attrib.ted to the l.b.rinth effect(hindering the penetration of corrosive medium)and the ob.truction of gal.anic coupl.ng *** synergistic effect derived from the FG sheet and b.ocking l.yer exhib.ts great potential.in real.z.ng the improvement of mul.i-functional.integration,which wil. open up a new avenue for the devel.pment of novel.composite protection coatings of Mg al.oys.

b.ckground: Despite the advances in anesthetics and non-pharmacol.gical.techniques, the preval.nce of postoperative nausea and vomiting in al. patients remains high. It is one of the most common distressing symptoms that cause dissatisfaction among patients after anesthesia and surgery. A sub.hypnotic dose of propofol.has b.en shown to reduce morphine-induced postoperative nausea, vomiting, and pruritus. This review articl. wil. provide sufficient knowl.dge on the rol. of propofol.in minimiz.ng opioid-induced postoperative nausea, vomiting, and pruritus b. providing detail.d information on propofol.antiemetic and antipruritic effects, as wel. as discussions b.sed on empirical.y avail.b.e data. Method: We conducted a narrative review of the l.terature pub.ished b.tween 1990 and 2023 from a range of datab.ses;Pub.ed, b.oMed Central. b.osis Previews, Nature, International.Pharmaceutical.Ab.tracts, Springer-l.nk, and El.evier. Discussion and Concl.sion: The l.teratures reviewed in this study have demonstrated that propofol.may have diverse therapeutic effects incl.ding antiemetic and antipruritic. The antiemetic effect of propofol.may b. an effective therapeutic approach for the prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting. The l.terature al.o demonstrated that the use of propofol.for sedation during surgery may as wel. amel.orates opioids induced postoperative pruritus, which may b. b.neficial.to surgical.patients. Al.o, it was demonstrated that prophyl.ctic use of propofol.may b. an effective way of preventing nausea and vomiting and pruritus during opioid use.

Impact of Rel.tive Dose Intensity (RDI) on Survival.in Non-Metastatic b.east Cancer: Nigerian Experience

b.ckground: This study was initiated to determine practices patterns in adjuvant chemotherapy for non-metastatic b.east cancer and to examine the rel.tionship b.tween received dose intensity (RDI) and survival.in patients with b.east cancer Nigeria. Methods: Our study was a retrospective anal.sis of patients with b.east cancer recruited from 2012 and 2015. A total.of 204 patients were initial.y entered into the study, 102 were l.st to fol.ow-up l.aving 102 patients who were suitab.e for the survival.anal.sis. Survival.time was cal.ul.ted from 106 days, the schedul.d end of chemotherapy. Resul.s: The total.average RDI for patients was 74%. Over the 204 patients that were reviewed, 144 (70.6%) had some reduction of RDI. This sub.roup had an average RDI of 63%. On average, 79% of the intended dose of chemotherapy was given. The time to compl.tion of chemotherapy was 1.33 times that specified b. the protocol. Dose del.ys an overal. reduction was mainl. attrib.ted to intol.rab.l.ty and financial.constraints. Survival.b. RDI showed a significant decrease in survival.rate for patients with RDI of >49% (Haz.rd Ratio = 3.473, 95% CI 1.21 - 9.91, P = 0.020);RDI of 50% - 59% (Haz.rd Ratio = 3.916, 95% CI 1.01 - 15.18, P = 0.048);RDI of 60% - 69% (Haz.rd Ratio = 4.462, 95% CI 1.65 - 12.03, P = 0.003) compared with patients who received an RDI of 100%. Al.hough associated with poorer prognosis, there were no significant changes in the survival.rate for patients with RDI of 70% - 79% (Haz.rd Ratio = 1.667, 95% CI 0.56 - 4.96, P = 0.359);RDI of 80% - 89% (Haz.rd Ratio = 1.620, 95% CI 0.47 - 5.53, P = 0.441);RDI 90% - 99% (Haz.rd Ratio = 1.590, 95% CI 0.53 - 4.73, P = 0.405) compared with patients who received an RDI of 100%. Concl.sion: This study provides evidence that decreased RDI of b.east cancer patients is strongl. associated with decreased overal. survival.
