Maintenance of Normal Stress Tolerance in the Moss Physcomitrella patens Lacking Chloroplastic CuZn-Superoxide Dismutase

Superoxide dismutases (SODs) catalyze the dismutation of superoxide and play an important role in reducing oxidative stress in plants. Based on in-gel SOD activity staining, chloroplasts of the moss Physcomitrella patens have two CuZn-SODs as the major SOD isozymes and minor SODs, including a Fe-SOD and two Mn-SODs. To investigate the contribution of chloroplastic SODs to stress tolerance in P. patens, we generated a double mutant lacking chloroplastic CuZn-SOD genes. The mutant did not show any differences in comparison to the wild type based on the growth of protonemata on normal and high-salt media, extractable activities of the other SODs after culture on normal and high-salt media, and inhibition of Fv/Fm under stress conditions (high-salt, high-light, and high-temperature). These results indicate that chloroplastic CuZn-SODs do not play a principal role in oxidative stress tolerance in chloroplasts under the investigated conditions. These findings explain the previously reported unusual response of P. patens to copper deficiency, in which chloroplastic CuZn-SODs are preferentially inactivated but cytosolic CuZn-SODs are unaffected.

Visualization of Special Features in “The Tale of Genji” by Text Mining and Correspondence Analysis with Clustering

In this paper, visualization of special features in “The Tale of Genji”, which is a typical Japanese classical literature, is studied by text mining the auxiliary verbs and examining the similarity in the sentence style by the correspondence analysis with clustering. The result shows that the text mining error in the number of auxiliary verbs can be as small as 15%. The extracted feature in this study supports the multiple authors of “The Tale of Genji”, which agrees well with the result by Murakami and Imanishi [1]. It is also found that extracted features are robust to the text mining error, which suggests that the classification error is less affected by the text mining error and the possible use of this technique for further statistical study in classical literatures.

治愈型校园文化创意产品能让用户通过与产品进行互动,得到情感上的安慰,进而提升用户在使用时的心理舒适感。文章以治愈型文化创意产品为研究对象,首先分析了治愈型文化创意产品的现状和价值。其次从“情感层面”出发,运用情感化设计,提出了情感理论和文化创意产品的联系,从“本能”“行为”和“反思”三个层次进行了探讨。最终得出治愈型校园文化创意产品的情感化设计策略,并以澳门城市大学为案例进行实践验证,以期为高校文化创意产品设计探索一条新的途径。

【目的】构建基于多维小波聚类的空间文本数据情感分析模型,实现文本情感和空间位置的综合分析。【方法】将Yelp数据集进行整合以构建空间文本数据库,使用基于词典的情感分析方法构建特征向量。提出使用多维小波聚类的混合算法和文本–空间算法两种模型并进行分析。【结果】实验结果验证了使用db2和bior2.2小波基函数的多维小波聚类算法比DBSCAN和K-means算法在空间文本数据挖掘中能识别出更精确的聚类集合,且在十万级至千万级数据聚类中速度最佳。【局限】情感分析部分使用一元语言模型,缺乏对语句层面意义的分析。【结论】本文所提文本–空间算法模型能有效挖掘多维空间文本数据的情感倾向分布;混合算法模型为空间文本数据推荐系统提供了同时计算空间接近性和情感相似性的有效方案。

Atmospheric concentrations of radioactive lead isotopes（210Pb,212Pb and 214Pb）were observed at Kawasaki,*** order to discuss atmospheric behavior of radon-and thoron-progeny,seasonal variations in the atmospheric concentrations of the radioactive lead isotopes were observed *** seasonal variations in the atmospheric 212Pb and 214Pb concentrations at Kawasaki showed a “one-peak” seasonal variation pattern:high concentrations appeared in *** seasonal variation pattern of 210Pb concentration was quite different from those of 212Pb and *** seasonal variations of 210Pb concentration showed the “two-peak” patterns:high concentrations appeared in spring and autumn *** atmospheric 212Pb and 214Pb concentrations varied significantly with meteorological conditions at the observing locality and the neighboring *** trends of the atmospheric concentrations of 212Pb and 214Pb at the present observation site were tabulated along with the wide or local meteorological conditions.

Arsenic (As) and chlorine (Cl) were co-doped to CH3NH3PbI3 perovskite solar cells, and the photovoltaic properties were investigated. AsI3 and NH4Cl were added to perovskite precursor solution, which were deposited on mesoporous TiO2 by a spin-coating combining an air flow method. Current density-voltage characteristics and incident photon-to-current conversion efficiencies were improved by the co-doping of As and Cl to the perovskite phase, which also indicated an energy gap of 1.57 eV. X-ray diffraction showed suppression of PbI2 formation by the AsI3 addition. The structure analysis by scanning electron microscopy indicated formation of a homogeneous microstructure by adding AsI3 with NH4Cl, which would result in the improvement of the photovoltaic properties.

We investigate the diagnostic reliability of differentiating between lipid-poor adrenal adenomas and metastatic adrenal tumors originating from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using a routine dynamic CT protocol for liver imaging. Eighteen metastatic adrenal tumors originating from HCC and 13 lipid-poor adrenal adenomas were identified. Dynamic CT data were analyzed for CT attenuation of adrenal lesions before and after contrast administration. When a cutoff of 36 HU was set for adrenal lesions at pre-contrast attenuation, the sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of metastatic lesions were 94.4%and 92.3%, respectively. Attenuation criteria on pre-contrast CT may help optimize the differentiation between these lesions.

Influence of Surface Properties Modified with Fine Shot Peening on Scuffing

Recently, gears of high strength, reliability, and surface-damage-resistant under severe service conditions are required to achieve the weight saving and downsizing of a product. For the high-speed condition in particular, it is important to understand the influence of the surface properties on the scuffing resistance. If the effective surface profile to improve the lubrication property was found, the metal surfaces could be obtained with both surface strength and surface lubricity. Herein, the influence of surface properties modified with fine shot peening, which can form the arbitrary surface profile, on the scuffing resistance in the rolling-sliding contact machine element, was investigated. The scuffing test was performed using a two-cylinder rolling contact test machine. In a specific sliding, a faster roller of 60% and a sliding velocity of 1.75 m/s were utilized. The scuffing test results with shot-peened test rollers and those with non-shot-peened test roller were compared. The influence of the surface roughness of the shot-peened test roller was also discussed. We found that the shot-peened roller had a better scuffing resistance compared with the roller without the shot-peening process.
