Experimental Investigation on Solution Regeneration Performance and Coefficients in Full-Open System for Heat and Water Recovery of Flue Gas

The recovery of heat and water from low-grade flue gas is of considerable importance for energy conservation and environmental *** the full-open absorption heat pump shows promise as a means of achieving heat and water recovery,the lack of research on heat and mass transfer performance of open-type solution evaporation regeneration represents a significant impediment to its design and *** paper experimentally investigates the regeneration performance of an open-type spaying tower equipped with ceramic structured *** different regeneration modes are proposed,namely ambient air receiver mode and flue gas receiver mode,to utilize air or low-grade flue gas as a driving *** impact of different input parameters on the regeneration characteristics,including heat transfer capacity,water removal rate,thermal efficiency,and humidity effectiveness,are *** findings indicate that the enhancement of regeneration can be achieved through the increase of solution flow rate,solution temperature,and flue gas flow rate in both regeneration ***,high solution concentration and flue gas humidity ratio can weaken water removal rates and reduce thermal *** the regeneration of CaCl_(2)-H_(2)O with a concentration of55%,flue gas around 200℃with a humidity ratio below 44 g/kg can successfully drive the solution regeneration *** the solution concentration or flue gas humidity ratio continues to rise,additional energy is necessary for ***,the coupled heat and mass transfer coefficients are fitted,which can contribute to the design and optimization of the open-type regenerator.

Experimental demonstration of a photonic spiking neuron based on a DFB laser subject to side-mode optical pulse injection

We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a simple and novel photonic spiking neuron based on a distributed feedback(DFB) laser subject to side-mode optical pulse injection(SMOPI). The DFB laser chip is designed and fabricated based on asymmetric equivalent π phase shift(π-EPS) with the reconstruction-equivalent-chirp(REC) technique. Under side-mode continuous-wave(CW) optical injection,excitability pulse was experimentally observed during the dominant mode switching process due to the injection-locked effect. Based on the transition between the excitability regime and the side-mode injection locking effect, the controllable and repeatable neuron-like spiking response can be realized when external stimulus pulses are electro-optically modulated on the CW optical carrier. The experimental results show that the spike threshold, temporal integration, and refractory period, which are important spike processing mechanisms in biological neurons, can all be achieved in the optically-injected DFB laser. The experimental findings are also verified numerically with a rate equation model that considers the SMOPI. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first experimental demonstration of a photonic spiking neuron based on a DFB laser subject to SMOPI, which holds promise for realizing large-scale photonic spiking neuron arrays for hardware photonic spiking neural network chips.

Comparative analysis of goat and bovine milk proteins in the improvement of sarcopenia based on host-microbial interactions

Introduction: Diet intervention， especially supplementation with high-quality protein， is considered to be a critical strategy in sarcopenia. However， different sources and types of protein have different health impacts. Objectives: The aim of this study is to explore the differences in the ameliorative effects and mechanisms of different sources and types of proteins on sarcopenia， providing an optimal path for the prevention and treatment of sarcopenia. Methods: A sarcopenia model was established by intraperitoneal injection of dexamethasone (5 mg/kg). Sixty male C57BL/6 mice (8 months old) were randomly divided into the normal control， sarcopenia， goat whey protein， goat milk casein， bovine whey protein， and bovine milk casein groups. Animals were treated for eight consecutive weeks. Organism-level and molecular phenotypes， 16S rRNA gene sequencing， and untargeted metabolomics profiling based on GC-TOF/MS were employed to investigate the correlation between host metabolism， microbial metabolism， autophagy and inflammation and their influence on sarcopenia in C57BL/6 male mice. Results: All four proteins increased muscle mass， and goat whey protein improved muscle strength in sarcopenic mice. Goat and bovine milk proteins promoted muscle regeneration by increasing MyoD1 and MyoG expression， and the former had a more distinct effect in inducing autophagy and decreasing inflammation than the latter. In addition， goat whey protein and casein could modulate host-microbial arginine co-metabolism. Notably， goat milk proteins responded well to sarcopenia comorbidities， including sarcopenic obesity， osteosarcopenia， and osteoarthritis. Conclusions: The study confirmed that goat milk proteins were more effective than bovine milk proteins for the control of sarcopenia. Moreover， we found that whey protein and casein could modulate host-microbial arginine co-metabolism， which shows their potential as precision nutritional supplements for the management of sarcopenia. Spatial and temporal changes of glaciers and glacial lakes in the Northern Tianshan Mountains over the past 30 years

Glaciers and glacial lakes are very sensitive to climate change,and studying their dynamics is important for revealing changes in global *** this study,we extracted the boundaries of glaciers and glacial lakes in the Northern Tianshan Mountains based on Landsat TM/ETM+/OLI and Sentinel 2A/2B MSI remote sensing images and analyzed their dynamics and impacts over the past 30 *** findings indicate that in 2020,the Northern Tianshan region exhibited a total of 3254 glaciers,with an area of 1670.55 km^(2) and a volume of 95.69 km^(3).The corresponding numbers,areas,and volumes of glacial lakes were 281,13.23 km^(2) and 210.49×10~6 m^(3),*** the past 30 years,glaciers and glacial lakes have exhibited opposite *** former decreased by 16,332.64 km^(2)(-0.60%·a^(–1)) and 18.36 km^(3)(-0.58%·a^(–1)),respectively,and the latter increased by 56 and2.48 km^(2)(0.82%·a^(–1)) and 38.88×10~6 m^(3)(0.79%·a^(–1)),***,different glacier termination types cause differences in the glacier retreat ***-terminated glaciers retreated faster than land-terminated glaciers,and the type of glacier termination has a greater effect on the retreat rate than the size of the glacial area.

目的了解青海省西宁市人类免疫缺陷病毒(HIV)感染者和艾滋病(AIDS)患者(HIV感染者/AIDS患者)高血压患病情况及其影响因素,为HIV感染者/AIDS患者合并高血压的防控及干预提供科学依据。方法于2023年2—7月,采用方便抽样法选取青海省西宁市接受高效抗逆转录病毒治疗(HAART)的468名HIV感染者/AIDS患者进行问卷调查和体格检查。采用SPSS 22.0进行χ^(2)检验、探索性因子分析,利用AMOS 24.0构建HIV感染者/AIDS患者高血压患病影响因素的结构方程模型(SEM)。结果共纳入468名研究对象,其中高血压患者138例,高血压患病率为29.5%,且随年龄增长患病率呈上升趋势(χ^(2)_(趋势)=44.54,P<0.01)。SEM分析结果显示,人口学特征、社会经济地位及HIV感染年限可对该人群高血压患病产生直接和间接效应,其总路径系数分别为0.14、0.18及0.02,抑郁症状、CD4^(+)T细胞计数、体质指数及高血压家族史对该人群高血压患病产生直接影响,其路径系数分别为0.12、-0.60、0.19及0.12,模型适配度良好。结论青海省西宁市HIV感染者/AIDS患者高血压患病率较高,应对该人群开展全面健康干预,定期监测血压及CD4^(+)T细胞计数等HIV感染相关指标,从而有效降低高血压患病风险。

A new emerging target in cancer immunotherapy: Galectin-9 (LGALS9)

Over the past few decades, advances in immunological knowledge have led to the identification of novel immune checkpoints, reinvigorating cancer immunotherapy. Immunotherapy, represented by immune checkpoint inhibitors, has become the leader in the precision treatment of cancer, bringing a new dawn to the treatment of most cancer patients. Galectin-9 (LGALS9), a member of the galectin family, is a widely expressed protein involved in immune regulation and tumor pathogenesis, and affects the prognosis of various types of cancer. Galectin-9 regulates immune homeostasis and tumor cell survival through its interaction with its receptor Tim-3. In the review, based on a brief description of the signaling mechanisms and immunomodulatory activities of galectin-9 and Tim-3, we summarize the targeted expression patterns of galectin-9 in a variety of malignancies and the promising mechanisms of anti-galectin-9 therapy in stimulating anti-tumor immune responses.

Mobile CRISPR-Cas9 based anti-phage system in E. coli

Escherichia coli is one of the most important microbial cell factories,but infection by bacteriophages in the environment may have a huge impact on its application in industrial ***,we developed a mobile CRISPR-Cas9 based anti-phage system for bacteriophages defense in *** conjugative plasmids pGM1(phosphoglucomutase 1)and pGM2 carrying one and two guide RNAs,respectively,were designed to defend against a filamentous *** results showed that the pGM1 and pGM2 could decrease the phage infection rate to 1.6%and 0.2%respectively in infected *** preventing phage infection in ***,the pGM2 decreased the phage infection rate to 0.1%,while pGM1 failed to block phage *** verification revealed that point mutations in protospacer or protospacer adjacent motif sequences of the phage genome caused loss of the defense *** results support the potential application of MCBAS in *** cell factories to defend against phage infections.

目的探讨口腔临床诊疗中数字牙片影像技术的应用价值。方法选择2022年1月至2023年5月期间在本院口腔科就诊且需要拔牙治疗的50例正畸患者作为研究对象。患者在治疗前,完成数字化牙片摄影和传统牙片摄影。记录投照上、下颌牙齿X线倾斜的垂直平均角度,并统计牙齿根尖片的曝光时间,对比两种摄影技术对牙齿长度的测量结果。结果传统牙片摄影时,上颌和下颌切牙位、单尖牙、双尖牙位、第一磨牙位、第二及三磨牙位(足侧倾斜)选择投射角度低于数字化牙片摄影(P0.05);传统牙片摄影对待拔除牙齿单根、双根颊和双根腭测量结果低于游标卡尺测量结果,差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05);以游标卡尺测量结果为依据,数字化牙片摄影和传统牙片摄影对待拔除牙齿单根、双根颊和双根腭测量结果相比,差异具有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论数字牙片影像技术投照条件宽容度相对较大,投射时曝光时间短,对牙齿根尖的测量准确度较高,便于细致观察牙齿,应用于口腔临床诊疗的价值较高。
