Integration of machine learning with phase field method to model the electromigration induced Cu_(6)Sn_(5) IMC growth at anode side Cu/Sn interface

Currently,in the era of big data and 5G communication technology,electromigration has become a serious reliability issue for the miniaturized solder joints used in microelectronic *** the effective charge number(Z*)is considered as the driving force for electromigration,the lack of accurate experimental values for Z* poses severe challenges for the simulation-aided design of electronic *** this work,a data-driven framework is developed to predict the Z* values of Cu and Sn species at the anode based LIQUID,Cu_(6)Sn_(5) intermetallic compound(IMC)and FCC phases for the binary Cu-Sn system undergoing electromigration at 523.15 *** growth rate constants(kem)of the anode IMC at several magnitudes of applied low current density(j=1×10^6 to 10×10^6A/m^2)are extracted from simulations based on a 1D multi-phase field model.A neural network employing Z* and j as input features,whereas utilizing these computed kemdata as the expected output is *** results of the neural network analysis are optimized with experimental growth rate constants to estimate the effective charge *** a negligible increase in temperature at low j values,effective charge numbers of all phases are found to increase with current density and the increase is much more pronounced for the IMC *** predicted values of effective charge numbers Z* are then utilized in a 2D simulation to observe the anode IMC grain growth and electrical resistance changes in the multi-phase *** the work consists of the aspects of experiments,theory,computation,and machine learning,it can be called the four paradigms approach for the study of electromigration in Pb-free *** a combination of multiple paradigms of materials design can be problem-solving for any future research scenario that is marked by uncertainties regarding the determination of material properties.

Anew research study evaluated the mechanisms of prostate cancer （PCa）resistance to androgen deprivation therapy （ADT） and progression to castrate-resistant disease. Using a codinical approach, the investigators were able to identify key gen-etic determinants of ADT resistance, gain insight into the molecular pathways that play a key role in this transition and pro-pose a potential management strategy to overcome ADT resistance in select cancers. This represents a step forward towards per-sonalized medicine guided by specific molecular markers of prostate cancer enab-ling more effective therapies targeted towards altered metabolic pathways.

The original free vortex wake model was used for numerical *** of the aerodynamic characteristics in hover and vertical descent modes in the range of vertical descent speed of 0–30 m/s including the Vortex Ring State(VRS)area was *** calculations were carried out under the condition of variable blade pitch angle values providing a fixed timeaverage thrust *** data of free vortex wake shapes,flow structures,and velocity fields were obtained and *** time-dependences of the rotor’s thrust and torque coefficients were obtained and *** obtained data allows determining the boundaries of the VRS area by various criteria such as rotor thrust and torque pulsations,growth of rotor power consumption relative to the hover,growth of rotor induced velocities relative to the hover,and growth of the required rotor blade pitch angles *** results of the study are compared with experimental and calculated data of other authors and can significantly supplement the available results of experimental and computational studies in this area.

Simulating Potential Tree Height for Beech-Maple-Birch Forests in Northeastern United States on Google Earth Engine

Estimating potential height of forests is one of key tasks in forest restoration *** regional maximum height statistics is difficult to account for local heterogeneity,biotic and abiotic mechanismbased methods are *** from the mainstream models that possesses either hydraulic constraint or mechanical constraint,we used a more lightweight model based on balance of water availability and consumption,named the Allometric Scaling and Resource Limitations *** enhancements were added,making up the third version of the model,and we deployed it using Google Earth Engine(GEE).A map of potential tree height at 90-m resolution is created for beech-maple-birch forests in northeastern United *** the oldest forests among the study area,the model reproduces the tree height level of~25 m with root mean square deviation(RMSD)of 3.71 m from a high-resolution product of canopy height *** a threshold of 20% deviation,82.9% of pixels agree with the existing tree *** of the oldest forests,RMSD raises to 5.01 m,and agreement drops to 75.3%.Over the entire study area,6.6% total pixels of interest have a predicted height below the current level.A total of 16.7% pixels have larger predictions relative to existing forest heights,with a half of them classified as mistakes of *** may come from uncertainty in climate reanalysis data and inadequate shading effects *** work confirms the applicability of this lightweight model for this static prediction task and explores the deployment of ecological mechanismbased models on the GEE platform.

A Clustering Algorithm for Planning the Integration Process of a Large Number of Conceptual Schemas

When tens and even hundreds of schemas are involved in the integration process, criteria are needed for choosing clusters of schemas to be integrated, so as to deal with the integration problem through an efficient iterative process. Schemas in clusters should be chosen according to cohesion and coupling criteria that are based on similarities and dissimilarities among schemas. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for a novel variant of the correlation clustering approach that addresses the problem of assisting a designer in integrating a large number of conceptual schemas. The novel variant introduces upper and lower bounds to the number of schemas in each cluster, in order to avoid too complex and too simple integration contexts respectively. We give a heuristic for solving the problem, being an NP hard combinatorial problem. An experimental activity demonstrates an appreciable increment in the effectiveness of the schema integration process when clusters are computed by means of the proposed algorithm w.r.t, the ones manually defined by an expert.

The paper presents a novel pressure-corrected formulation of the immersed boundary method(IBM)for the simulation of fully compressible non-Boussinesq natural convection *** formulation incorporated into the pressure-based fractional step approach facilitates simulation of the flows in the presence of an immersed body characterized by a complex ***,we first present extensive grid independence and verification studies addressing incompressible pressure-driven flow in an extended channel and non-Boussinesq natural convection flow in a differentially heated ***,the steady-state non-Boussinesq natural convection flow developing in the presence of hot cylinders of various diameters placed within a cold square cavity is thoroughly *** obtained results are presented and analyzed in terms of the spatial distribution of path lines and temperature fields and of heat flux values typical of the hot cylinder and the cold cavity *** characteristics of multiple steady-state solutions discovered for several configurations are presented and discussed in detail.

In this paper we demonstrate the need for risk-adjusted approaches to planning expansion of livestock production. In particular, we illustrate that under exposure to risk, a portfolio of producers is needed where more efficient producers co-exist and cooperate with less efficient ones given that the latter are associated with lower, uncorre, lated or even negatively correlated contingencies. This raises important issues of cooperation and risk sharing among diverse producers. For large-scale practical allocation problems when information on the contingencies may be disperse, not analytically tractable, or be available on aggregate levels, we propose a downscaling procedure based on behavioral principles utilizing spatial risk preference structure, It allows for estimation of production allocation at required resolutions accounting for location specific risks and suitability constraints. The approach provides a tool for harmonization of data from various spatial levels. We applied the method in a case study of livestock production allocation in China to 2030.

Testate amoebae communities from some freshwater and soil habitats in China （Hubei and Shandong Provinces）

Seventy-eight species and forms of testate amoebae were identified from 29 freshwater and soil habitats in three territories of China （Shandong and Hubei Provinces）. Most abundant species from the genera Plagiopyxis, Centropyxis and Trinema represent the globally-distributed and eurybiont group of testate amoe- bae. The species richness was observed to be the lowest （7-12 species per biotope） in sandy sediments of the Yangtze River, but considerably higher （20-30 taxa） in soil environment. In the range of terrestrial habitats, the most remote communities from Laoshan Mountain in Shandong Province, China manifested the highest difference from others. On the other hand, communities originated in the most distant from industrial center places （Guifeng Mountain in Hubei Province, China） possess the most peculiar species composition including specific Gondwa- nian taxa （e.g. Nebela bigibbosa）. In sum, the results obtained provide the evidence that the community complexity and specificity reduce in the places located within areas that are highly populated and intensively visited by humans.
