Emerging aquatic ins.cts. including mos.uitoes. are known to trans.er to terres.rial ecos.s.ems.s.ecific es.ential biochemicals. s.ch as.polyuns.turated fatty acids.（PUFA）. We s.udied fatty acid （FA） compos.tion and contents.of dominant mos.uito populations.（Diptera： Culicidae）, that is. Anopheles.mes.eae, Ochlerotatus.cas.ius. Oc. flaves.ens. Oc. euedes. Oc. s.bdivers.s. Oc. cataphylla, and Aedes.cinereus. inhabited a s.eppe wetland of a temperate climate zone to fill up the gap in their lipid knowledge. The polar lipid and triacylglycerol fractions.of larvae and adults.were compared. In mos. s.udied mos.uito s.ecies. we firs. found and identified a number of s.ort-chain PUFA, for example, prominent 14：2n-6 and 14：3n-3, which were not earlier documented in living organis.s. Thes. PUFA, although occurred in low levels.in adult mos.uitoes. can be potentially us.d as.markers.of mos.uito biomas. in terres.rial food webs. We hypothes.ze that thes. acids.might be s.nthes.zed （or retroconverted） by the mos.uitoes. Us.ng FA trophic markers.accumulated in triacylglycerols. trophic relations.of the mos.uitoes.were acces.ed. The larval diet compris.d green algae, cryptophytes. and dinoflagellates.and provided the mos.uitoes.with es.ential n-3 PUFA, linolenic, and eicos.pentaenoic acids. As.a res.lt, both larvae and adults.of the s.udied mos.uitoes.had comparatively high content of the es.ential PUFA. Comparis.n of FA proportions.in polar lipids.vers.s.s.orage lipids.s.own that during mos.uito metamorphos.s.trans.er of es.ential eicos.pentaenoic and arachidonic acids.from the res.rve in s.orage lipids.of larvae to functional polar lipids.in adults.occurred.

Titanium and its.alloys.are promis.ng materials.for hydrogen s.orage. However, hydrogen penetration accompanies.the exploitation of hydrogen s.orage alloys. In particular, hydrogen penetration and accumulation in titanium alloys.changes.their mechanical properties. Therefore, the res.arch works.of s.ch materials.are mainly focus.d on improving the revers.bility of hydrogen abs.rption-liberation proces.es. increas.ng the thermodynamic characteris.ics.of the alloys. and augmenting their hydrogen s.orage capacity. In the proces. of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation, the formed defects.both s.gnificantly reduce hydrogen s.orage capacity and can als. be us.d to create effective traps.for hydrogen. Therefore, the inves.igation of hydrogen interaction with s.ructural defects.in titanium and its.alloys.is.very important. The pres.nt work, the hydrogen-induced formation of defects.in the alloys.of commercially pure titanium under temperature gas.phas. hydrogenation（873 K） has.s.udied by pos.tron lifetime s.ectros.opy and Doppler broadening s.ectros.opy. Bas.d on the evolution of pos.tron annihilation parameters.τ_f, τd, their corres.onding intens.ties.If, Idand relative changes.of parameters.s.s.and W/W0, the peculiarities.of hydrogen interaction with titanium lattice defects.were inves.igated in a wide range of hydrogen concentrations.from 0.8at% to 32.0at%.

Background： Laying on of hands.（LooH） is.a culturally-accepted therapy in s.veral traditions. In Brazil, ＂s.iritis.＂（third-larges. religious.tradition in number of followers. us.s.LooH with the name of ＂s.iritis. Pas.e＂（s.）. However, there are few s.udies.as.es.ing s.＇s.role in medical outcomes. The pres.nt s.udy aims.to inves.igate the effects.of LooH, with and without a s.iritual context, on pain, joint s.iffnes., and functional capacity of older women （≥60 years.old） with knee os.eoarthritis.（KOA）. Methods.des.gn： In this.triple-blind, pros.ective randomized controlled trial, older women with KOA are as.igned to three groups. LooH with a s.iritual context group, LooH group without a s.iritual context, and a control group receiving no intervention. Patients.are as.es.ed by a blinded res.archer at bas.line, 8 weeks. and 16 weeks. Pain, joint s.iffnes., and functional capacity are as.es.ed us.ng Wes.ern Ontario and McMas.er Univers.ties.Os.eoarthritis.Index. The behavior of n-methylidenemalonates.of 3-arylaminoindoles.and p-dimetylamino-n-phenylanyline (M = Ana) was.s.udied during their analys.s.with Es. mas. s.ectrometer operated in negative (nI) and pos.tive (PI) ion modes. Anions.[A] and both [M + H]+ and [M + na]+ were recorded under conditions.of the nI-Es. and PI-Es., res.ectively. The fragmentation proces.es.of [A] and [M + H]+ were found that probably occurred as.“ins.urce collus.on induced dis.ociation”. The main paths.for [A] proved to be elimination of CO2 and breakage of the n-methylidenemalonate bond. A route [A]- - CO2 - ROH (R = Me or Et) was.les. expres.ed and occurred for the indolyl-containing compounds.with the nH bond only. Experiments.employing heavy water demons.rated the is.tope exchange to occur involving the hydrogen atom of this.bond. This.and other facts.evidenced that the las. fragmentation included abs.raction of jus. this.atom. Quantum-chemical calculations.allowed picking out a s.ructure for the product ion from the pos.ible ones. The calculations.als. indicated that the protonation of M occurred at the anionic oxygen atom of the malonate moiety. The fragmentation of [M + H]+ ions.included elimination of two water molecules.that was.s.pported by their Ms. s.ectra. A common feature of the nI- and PI-Es. mas. s.ectra was.the pres.nce of oligomeric ions. up to tetramers.and trimers.for the nI- and PI-Es. ones. res.ectively. The oligomers.were formed by interaction of the corres.onding ions.with neutral molecules. When ions.contained extra hydrogen atoms. they were introduced by hydrolys.s.

Quantum-chemical calculations.of polyatomic clus.ers.s.mulating a boundary between grains.in a s.rface layer of s.eel were carried out. Along with iron atoms.the clus.ers.contain atoms.of alloying and impurity elements.which appear on the boundary due to grain boundary s.gregation or intergrain diffus.on. The influence of the chemical compos.tion of a s.gregate on the s.rength of coupling between grains.and, eventually, on s.eel wear res.s.ance is.analyzed. Res.lts.obtained s.ow that the degree of the s.rength of binding of s.gregated atoms.with atoms.of iron in a metal s.rface layer is.an es.ential factor influencing wear res.s.ance. It is.found that the dependence of energy of binding of atoms.of different elements.with grain s.rface on the atomic number complies.with the periodic law. This.fact can be cons.dered as.a theoretical bas. for the prognos.ication of s.rength properties.of s.eel with different compos.tion of alloying and impurity elements. Potential energy curves.corres.onding to the movement of atoms.on iron s.rface are s.udied. They can be us.ful for des.gn of the compos.tion of multi-layer coats.on s.eel.
