Introduction:Although an association between metabolic dysfunctionassociated fatty liver disease(mAFLD)and cardiovascular disease or overall mortality has been reported,it is unclearwhether there is an association between mAFLD and cancer incidence or *** aimed to investigate the differential risk of all-and site-specific cancer incidence and mortality according to mAFLD subgroups categorized by additional etiologies of liver ***:Using the Korean National Health Insurance Service database,we stratified the participants into three groups:(1)single-etiology mAFLD(SmAFLD)or mAFLD of pure metabolic origin;(2)mixed-etiology mAFLD(m-mAFLD)or mAFLD with additional etiological factor(s)(i.e.,concomitant liver diseases and/or heavy alcohol consumption);and(3)*** steatosis and fibrosiswere defined using the fatty liver index and the BARDscore,*** proportional hazards regression was performed to estimate the risk of cancer ***:Among the 9,718,182 participants,the prevalence of S-mAFLD and m-mAFLD was 29.2%and 6.7%,*** the median 8.3 years of follow-up,510,330(5.3%)individuals were newly diagnosed with cancer,and 122,774(1.3%)cancer-related deaths occurred among the entire *** with the non-mAFLD group,the risk of all-cancer incidence and mortality was slightly higher among patients in the S-mAFLD group(incidence,adjusted hazard ratio[aHR]=1.03;95%confidence interval[CI]:1.02−1.04;mortality,aHR=1.06;95%CI:1.04−1.08)and highest among patients with m-mAFLD group(incidence,aHR=1.31;95%CI:1.29−1.32;mortality,aHR=1.45;95%CI:1.42−1.48,respectively).The m-mAFLD with fibrosis group(BARD score≥2)showed the highest relative risk of all-cancer incidence(aHR=1.38,95%CI=1.36–1.39),followed by the m-mAFLD without fibrosis group(aHR=1.09,95%CI=1.06–1.11).Similar trends were observed for cancer-related ***:mAFLD classification,by applying additional etiologies other than pure metabolic origi

BACKGROUND Although the benefits of exercise for kidney transplant recipients(KTRs)have been widely demonstrated,these patients experience several barriers in undertaking a structured exercise program in hospital and non-hospital *** To compare the effects of a supervised moderate-intensity gym-based intervention with a home-based low-intensity walking program on exercise capacity in *** KTRs were asked to choose between two six-month *** first group performed a low-intensity interval walking intervention at home-based exercise intervention (HBex). The second group performed a supervised training program at an adapted physical activitygym (Sgym), including aerobic and resistance training. The outcomes, collected at baseline and at the end of theprograms, included the 6-minute walking test, the peak oxygen consumption (VO_(2)peak) during a treadmill test,the 5-time sit-to-stand test, and blood *** patients agreed to participate and self-selected into the HBex (n = 9) and Sgym (n = 8) groups. Twopatients in the Sgym group dropped out because of familial problems. At baseline, patients in the HBex group weresignificantly older and had lower walking distance, VO_(2)peak, and lower limb strength. Primary outcome changeswere significantly greater in the HBex group than in the Sgym group (52 ± 23 m vs 8 ± 34;P = 0.005). No othersignificant differences between groups were observed. Both groups improved most of the outcomes in the withingroupcomparisons, with significant variations in VO_(2) ***-month moderate-intensity supervised or low-intensity home-based training programs effectively improvedexercise capacity in KTRs. Gym-based programs combine aerobic and resistance training;however, in-homewalking may be proposed for frail KTRs.

Carbides Formation in marm247 Directional Solidified during Stress-Rupture Test at High Temperature

In our study, stress-rupture tests were conducted at elevated temperatures to examine the impact of high temperature on marm247 LC (low carbon). Our main objective was to investigate the alterations in the microstructure, particularly the carbon precipitation, during long-term stress-rupture tests. It was observed that cracks developed near the sample neck, following the path of the carbides and the gamma matrix, rather than occurring in the gamma-gamma prime eutectic. This occurred despite the formation of carbides because of prolonged exposure to high temperature and load, and the crack propagation did not follow that path. Based on these findings, we suggest that a reduction in the carbon content of mar-m247 LC can enhance the sample's lifespan when subjected to temperatures below 760˚C and a stress of 690 mPa.

During the last two decadesnumerous research teams demonstratedthat skeletalmuscles function as an exercise-dependent endocrine organ secreting dozens of *** of physiological and pathophysiological implications of skeletalmusclemyokines secretion has been described;however,upstream signals and sensing mechanisms underlying this phenomenon remain poorly *** is well documented that in skeletal muscles intensive exercise triggers dissipation of transmembrane gradient of monovalent cations caused by permanent activation of voltage-gated Nat and Kt ***,we demonstrated that sustained elevation of the[Nat]i/[Kt]i ratio triggers expression of dozens ubiquitous genes including several canonical myokines,such as interleukin-6 and cyclooxygenase 2,in the presence of intra-and extracellular Ca2t *** data allowed us to suggest a novel[Nat]i/[Kt]i-sensitive,Ca2t i-independent mechanism of excitation-transcription coupling which triggers myokine *** pathway exists in parallel with canonical signaling mediated by Ca2t i,AmP-activated protein kinase and hypoxia-inducible factor 1a(HIF-1a).In ourmini-reviewwe briefly summarize data supporting this hypothesis as well as unresolved issues aiming to forthcoming studies.

The Study of Different Structuring Techniques for Creation of Non-Evaporable Getters

The results of observation of different structuring techniques of thin metal layers applied in micro system technologies are presented. The Ti V getter films formed by magnetron sputtering have been explored using scanning electron and atomic-force microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method, thermogravimetric analysis and fractal geometry. The film sorption capacity for hydrogen given by thermogravimetry was of 7.7 m3·Pa·g-1. To estimate the effective surface area, the fractal geometry tools were used and the calculated value of the specific surface area was about 155 m2/m3. The second object under investigation was a structure composed of micro- and mesoporous silicon and copper layer deposited electrochemically on the pore walls. Porous silicon when coupled with a reactive metal or alloy is expected to be an effective getter for micro system techniques. The use of porous silicon and specific conditions of depositions allows to form the structure of complex fractal type with a specific surface area of 167 m2/cm3.

Optical bound states in the continuum(BICs)provide a way to engineer very narrow resonances in photonic *** extended interaction time in these systems is particularly promising for the enhancement of nonlinear optical processes and the development of the next generation of active optical ***,the achievable interaction strength is limited by the purely photonic character of optical ***,we mix the optical BIC in a photonic crystal slab with excitons in the atomically thin semiconductor moSe_(2) to form nonlinear exciton-polaritons with a Rabi splitting of 27 meV,exhibiting large interaction-induced spectral *** asymptotic BIC-like suppression of polariton radiation into the far field toward the BIC wavevector,in combination with effective reduction of the excitonic disorder through motional narrowing,results in small polariton linewidths below 3 *** with a strongly wavevector-dependent Q-factor,this provides for the enhancement and control of polariton–polariton interactions and the resulting nonlinear optical effects,paving the way toward tuneable BIC-based polaritonic devices for sensing,lasing,and nonlinear optics.

Reactivity of N-methylidenemalonates of 3-Arylaminoindoles and p-Dimethylamino-N-Phenylaniline in the Course of Their Analysis by Electrospray Ionization mass Spectrometry

The behavior of N-methylidenemalonates of 3-arylaminoindoles and p-dimetylamino-N-phenylanyline (m = ANa) was studied during their analysis with ESI mass spectrometer operated in negative (NI) and positive (PI) ion modes. Anions [A] and both [m + H]+ and [m + Na]+ were recorded under conditions of the NI-ESI and PI-ESI, respectively. The fragmentation processes of [A] and [m + H]+ were found that probably occurred as “insource collusion induced dissociation”. The main paths for [A] proved to be elimination of CO2 and breakage of the N-methylidenemalonate bond. A route [A]- - CO2 - ROH (R = me or Et) was less expressed and occurred for the indolyl-containing compounds with the NH bond only. Experiments employing heavy water demonstrated the isotope exchange to occur involving the hydrogen atom of this bond. This and other facts evidenced that the last fragmentation included abstraction of just this atom. Quantum-chemical calculations allowed picking out a structure for the product ion from the possible ones. The calculations also indicated that the protonation of m occurred at the anionic oxygen atom of the malonate moiety. The fragmentation of [m + H]+ ions included elimination of two water molecules that was supported by their mS2 spectra. A common feature of the NI- and PI-ESI mass spectra was the presence of oligomeric ions, up to tetramers and trimers for the NI- and PI-ESI ones, respectively. The oligomers were formed by interaction of the corresponding ions with neutral molecules. When ions contained extra hydrogen atoms, they were introduced by hydrolysis.

In agriculture,LED light sources have increasingly replaced the standard luminescent lamps and have acquired an important role in plant *** studied the effect of different light sources such as narrow-band LEDs(bright blue,blue,green,yellow,deep red,and red)and wide-band LEDs(cold white,white,warm white,full spectrum,and an artificial solar spectrum sun box constructed by us)on development of potato plantlets in *** luminescent lamps were used as a *** light intensity of 49μmol·m^(-2)·s^(-1)was provided in all light *** showed that the long-wave narrow-band light treatments were inapplicable for potato micropropagation,because plantlets were weak with small leaves,inhibited roots,and significantly elongated *** lights provided growth of shortened plantlets with large leaves,well-growing roots,and abundant green *** chlorophyll content was lower under blue and bright blue light and was at the same level in the remained *** differences in the stomatal apparatus development were observed depending on the light *** differences were not always reflected in the plantlet phenotype:e.g.,plantlets under blue and bright blue lights showed no differences in any characteristics except stomatal density and size of stomatal guard *** found no significant effect of blue light portion in the white lights and full spectrum on plantlet *** artificial solar spectrum sun box was the most suitable for potato micropropagation,because it supported the development of plantlets with good fitness,uniform internodes length,abundant roots and green mass accumulation.

基于当前石笋包裹体水提取测试过程中面临的制约条件,本研究设计了用于提取石笋包裹体水的真空装置,将其与水同位素分析仪Picarro L2140-i相连接组成石笋包裹体水氢、氧同位素(δD、δ18O)测试系统.该系统能够快速地提取石笋包裹体中的水,并对其δD和δ18O的值进行测量.包裹体水真空提取装置使用了以高压气缸为驱动的破碎研磨器,具有良好的破碎效果;在120°C真空条件下破碎获得的包裹体水随后被高纯氮气带入到Picarro L2140-i中进行测量分析.为了验证包裹体水测试系统的可靠性和准确性,本研究分别将石笋包裹体水真空提取装置以及Picarro液态水自动进样器与Picarro L2140-i主机连接,对相同的水样品进行了对比测试.两种方法测得的δ18O和δD值在误差范围内接近.使用该系统对东亚季风区石笋样品进行的测试结果显示:石笋包裹体水的δ18O和δD值分布在全球大气降水线附近,表明测试过程中分馏作用较小;包裹体含水量对测试精度有一定影响,对于水汽浓度为2500~50000 ppm(1 ppm=1μL/L)的样品,δ18O、δD的标准差分别为0.5‰、2‰,与同类型系统相当.研究结果表明该系统能如实测量石笋包裹体水的δ18O和δD值,将为利用水-碳酸钙平衡分馏方程重建古温度提供重要的技术支撑.

Relationship between Pectic Substances and Strand Separation of Cooked Spaghetti Squash--Part 2. Changes in Firmness, Histological Structure and Pectic Substances during Soaking in Pectin Extractants

The flesh of spaghetti squash separates into strands when cooked. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the cause of strand separation （during cooking） by soaking for 24 h at 35 ℃ in solutions with three kinds of pectin extractant. The changes in strand separation, firmness, histological structure and the pectin of flesh during soaking in 0.01 N HCI solution （pH 2.0）, 0.035 m ammonium oxalate solution （pH 4.0） or 2% sodium hexametaphosphate solution （pH 4.0） were investigated. When flesh was soaked in the HCI solution, the separation into strands and removal of calcium and magnesium were greater than that soaked in other pectin extractants. High methoxyl pectin was extracted by soaking in HC1 solution （pH 2.0） due to removal of polyvalent cations. This result shows that high methoxyl pectin glues strands together in the flesh of spaghetti squash. The shape of the cells which constituted strands was round; on the other hand, that of cells surrounded strands was elongated. When cooked in boiling water or soaked at pH 2.0, the shape of the former cells was maintained, but the latter cells, which contributed to adhesion between strands, broke down. Thus, the flesh separated into strands. When flesh was boiled for 15-30 min, pectin degraded and dissolved in the cooking solution; consequently, the flesh separated into strands and also the middle lamella of cell walls of strands separated. However, pectin remaining in strands maintained their crispness.
