Integration of machine learning with phase field method to model the electromigration induced Cu_(6)Sn_(5) ImC growth at anode side Cu/Sn interface

Currently,in the era of big data and 5G communication technology,electromigration has become a serious reliability issue for the miniaturized solder joints used in microelectronic *** the effective charge number(Z*)is considered as the driving force for electromigration,the lack of accurate experimental values for Z* poses severe challenges for the simulation-aided design of electronic *** this work,a data-driven framework is developed to predict the Z* values of Cu and Sn species at the anode based LIQUID,Cu_(6)Sn_(5) intermetallic compound(ImC)and FCC phases for the binary Cu-Sn system undergoing electromigration at 523.15 *** growth rate constants(kem)of the anode ImC at several magnitudes of applied low current density(j=1×10^6 to 10×10^6A/m^2)are extracted from simulations based on a 1D multi-phase field model.A neural network employing Z* and j as input features,whereas utilizing these computed kemdata as the expected output is *** results of the neural network analysis are optimized with experimental growth rate constants to estimate the effective charge *** a negligible increase in temperature at low j values,effective charge numbers of all phases are found to increase with current density and the increase is much more pronounced for the ImC *** predicted values of effective charge numbers Z* are then utilized in a 2D simulation to observe the anode ImC grain growth and electrical resistance changes in the multi-phase *** the work consists of the aspects of experiments,theory,computation,and machine learning,it can be called the four paradigms approach for the study of electromigration in Pb-free *** a combination of multiple paradigms of materials design can be problem-solving for any future research scenario that is marked by uncertainties regarding the determination of material properties.

Short-term microbial responses to soluble inorganic P input in a tropical lowland rain forest in Amazonia

In recent years,sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)have emerged as a promising technology for energy storage systems(ESSs)because of the abundance and affordability of ***,metal selenides have been studied as promising high-performance conversion-type anode materials in *** them,nickel se-lenide(NiSe_(2))has received considerable attention due to its high theoretical capacity of 495 mAh g^(-1)and ***,it still suffers from poor cycling stability because of the low electrochemical reactivity,large volume expansion,and structural instability during *** address these challenges,NiSe_(2)nanoparticles encapsulated in N-doped graphitic carbon fibers(NiSe_(2)@NGCF)were synthesized by using ZIF-8 as a ***_(2)@NGCF showed a high discharge capacity of 558.3 mAh g^(-1)with a fading rate of 0.14%per cycle after 200 cycles at 0.5 A g^(-1)in 0.01-3.0 *** a very high current density of 5 A g^(-1),the capacity still displayed excellent long-term cycle life with a discharge capacity of 406.1 mAh g^(-1)with a fading rate of 0.016%per cycle after 3000 *** mechanism of the excellent electrochem-ical performance of NiSe_(2)@NGCF was thoroughly investigated by ex-situ XRD,TEm,and SEm ***,NiSe_(2)@NGCF//Na_(3)V_(2)(PO_(4))_(3)full-cell also delivered an excellent reversible capacity of 378.7 mAh g^(−1)at 0.1 A g^(−1)after 50 cycles,demonstrating its potential for practical application in SIBs.

Simulating Potential Tree Height for Beech-maple-Birch Forests in Northeastern United States on Google Earth Engine

Estimating potential height of forests is one of key tasks in forest restoration *** regional maximum height statistics is difficult to account for local heterogeneity,biotic and abiotic mechanismbased methods are *** from the mainstream models that possesses either hydraulic constraint or mechanical constraint,we used a more lightweight model based on balance of water availability and consumption,named the Allometric Scaling and Resource Limitations *** enhancements were added,making up the third version of the model,and we deployed it using Google Earth Engine(GEE).A map of potential tree height at 90-m resolution is created for beech-maple-birch forests in northeastern United *** the oldest forests among the study area,the model reproduces the tree height level of~25 m with root mean square deviation(RmSD)of 3.71 m from a high-resolution product of canopy height *** a threshold of 20% deviation,82.9% of pixels agree with the existing tree *** of the oldest forests,RmSD raises to 5.01 m,and agreement drops to 75.3%.Over the entire study area,6.6% total pixels of interest have a predicted height below the current level.A total of 16.7% pixels have larger predictions relative to existing forest heights,with a half of them classified as mistakes of *** may come from uncertainty in climate reanalysis data and inadequate shading effects *** work confirms the applicability of this lightweight model for this static prediction task and explores the deployment of ecological mechanismbased models on the GEE platform.

Gas-phase hydrogenation influence on defect behavior in titanium-based hydrogen-storage material

Titanium and its alloys are promising materials for hydrogen storage. However, hydrogen penetration accompanies the exploitation of hydrogen storage alloys. In particular, hydrogen penetration and accumulation in titanium alloys changes their mechanical properties. Therefore, the research works of such materials are mainly focused on improving the reversibility of hydrogen absorption-liberation processes, increasing the thermodynamic characteristics of the alloys, and augmenting their hydrogen storage capacity. In the process of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation, the formed defects both significantly reduce hydrogen storage capacity and can also be used to create effective traps for hydrogen. Therefore, the investigation of hydrogen interaction with structural defects in titanium and its alloys is very important. The present work, the hydrogen-induced formation of defects in the alloys of commercially pure titanium under temperature gas-phase hydrogenation（873 K） has studied by positron lifetime spectroscopy and Doppler broadening spectroscopy. Based on the evolution of positron annihilation parameters τ_f, τd, their corresponding intensities If, Idand relative changes of parameters S/S0and W/W0, the peculiarities of hydrogen interaction with titanium lattice defects were investigated in a wide range of hydrogen concentrations from 0.8at% to 32.0at%.

Population structuring of the ubiquitous stingless bee Tetragonisca angustula in southern Brazil as revealed by microsatellite and mitochondrial markers

Tetragonisca angustula is one of the most widespread stingless bees in the Neotropics. This species swarms frequently and is extremely successful in urban envi- ronments. In addition, it is one of the most popular stingless bee species for beekeeping in Latin America, so nest transportation and trading is common. Nest transportation can change the genetic structure of the host population, reducing inbreeding and increasing homogenization. Here, we evaluate the genetic structure of 17 geographic populations of T. angustula in southern Brazil to quantify the level of genetic differentiation between populations. Analyses were conducted on partially sequenced mitochondrial genes and 11 microsatellite loci of 1002 workers from 457 sites distributed on the mainland and on 3 islands. Our results show that T. angustula populations are highly differentiated as demon- strated by mitochondrial DNA （mtDNA） and microsatellite markers. Of 73 haplotypes, 67 were population-specific. mtDNA diversity was low in 9 populations but microsatellite diversity was moderate to high in all populations. microsatellite data suggest 10 genetic clusters and low level of gene flow throughout the studied area. However, physical barri- ers, such as rivers and mountain ranges, or the presence or absence of forest appear to be unrelated to population clusters. Factors such as low dispersal, different ecological con- ditions, and isolation by distance are most likely shaping the population structure of this species. Thus far, nest transportation has not influenced the general population structure in the studied area. However, due to the genetic structure we found, we recommend that nest transportation should only occur within and between populations that are genetically similar.

Ischaemia-reperfusion injury(IRI) is the leading cause of injury seen in the liver following transplantation. IRI also causes injury following liver surgery and haemodynamic shock. The first cells within the liver to be injured by IRI are the liver sinusoidal endothelial cells(LSEC). Recent evidence suggests that LSEC coordinate and regulates the livers response to a variety of injuries. It is becoming increasingly apparent that the cyto-protective cellular process of autophagy is a key regulator of IRI. In particular LSEC autophagy may be an essential gatekeeper to the development of IRI. The recent availability of liver perfusion devices has allowed for the therapeutic targeting of autophagy to reduce IRI. In particular normothermic machine liver perfusion(NmP-L) allow the delivery of pharmacological agents to donor livers whilst maintaining physiological temperature and hepatic flow rates. In this review we summarise the current understanding of endothelial autophagy and how this may be manipulated during NmP-L to reduce liver IRI.
