Impact of Annealing on the Melt Recrystallization of a-PDLA/α-PLLA Double-layered Films

Poly(lactic acid)(PLA) as a bio-based polymer with biodegradability and biocompatibility has attracted much attention. To manipulate its properties for different applications, regulation of crystal structure and crystalline morphology becomes an attractive research topic. In this work, the structure evolution of layered samples containing an amorphous poly(D-lactide)(PDLA) layer and a crystalline poly(L-lactide)(PLLA)layer with highly oriented edge-on α lamellar crystals after annealing at 150 ℃ or/and after melt-recrystallization has been studied by AFM, FTIR,and TEM combined with electron diffraction. The results demonstrate that melt recrystallization of the as-prepared sample leads to the formation of abundant randomly oriented PLA stereo-complex(PLA SC) crystals. Annealing at 150 ℃ results in the formation of a small amount of oriented PLA SC crystals at the interface. These PLA SC crystals show great impact on the recrystallization behavior of sample after melting at 190 ℃ and then crystallizing at 90 ℃. First, they impede the mutual diffusion of the overlying PDLA and underlying PLLA, and thus reduce their stereocomplexation ability as manifested by the decreased amount of PLA SC crystals. Second, they act as substrate to initiate the epitaxial crystallization of the overlying PDLA and underlying PLLA, which ensures the production of a highly oriented structure of PDLA and PLLA after melt recrystallization again.

Tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs)have emerged as the first-line small molecule drugs in many cancer therapies,exerting their effects by impeding aberrant cell growth and proliferation through the modulation of tyrosine kinase-mediated signaling ***,there exists a substantial inter-individual variability in the concentrations of certain TKIs and their metabolites,which may render patients with compromised immune function susceptible to diverse infections despite receiving theoretically efficacious anticancer treatments,alongside other potential side effects or adverse ***,an urgent need exists for an up-to-date review concerning the biological matrices relevant to bioanalysis and the sampling methods,clinical pharmacokinetics,and therapeutic drug monitoring of different *** paper provides a comprehensive overview of the advancements in pretreatment methods,such as protein precipitation(PPT),liquid-liquid extraction(LLE),solid-phase extraction(SPE),micro-SPE(μ-SPE),magnetic SPE(MSPE),and vortex-assisted dispersive SPE(VA-DSPE)achieved since *** also highlights the latest analysis techniques such as newly developed high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)and high-resolution mass spectrometry(HRMS)methods,capillary electrophoresis(CE),gas chromatography(GC),supercritical fluid chromatography(SFC)procedures,surface plasmon resonance(SPR)assays as well as novel nanoprobes-based biosensing *** addition,a comparison is made between the advantages and disadvantages of different approaches while presenting critical challenges and prospects in pharmacokinetic studies and therapeutic drug monitoring.

Microcavity photon dynamics in curved space is an emerging interesting area at the crossing point of nanophotonics,chaotic science,and non-Euclidean *** report the sharp difference between the regular and chaotic motions of cavity photons subjected to the varying space *** the island modes of regular motion rise in the phase diagram in the curved space,the chaotic modes show special mechanisms to adapt to the space curvature,including the fast diffusion of ray dynamics,and the localization and hybridization of the Husimi wavepackets among different periodic *** observations are unique effects enabled by the combination of the chaotic trajectory,the wave nature of light,and the non-Euclidean orbital motion,and therefore make the system a versatile optical simulator for chaotic science under quantum mechanics in curved space-time.

Universal paradigm of ternary metacomposites with tunable epsilon-negative and epsilon-near-zero response for perfect electromagnetic shielding

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Novel Ternary Ni(II) Complex with 2-Hydroxyl-1,10- phenanthroline and 2-Hydroxynicotinic Acid as ligands

A novel ternary complex of [NiL1L2·2H2O]·NO3·H2O （L1 = 2-hydroxyl-1,10-phenanthroline （HOphen）, L2 = 2-hydroxynicotinic acid （H2nicO）） was synthesized, and its crystal structure was determined by X-ray diffraction and further characterized by infrared and elementary analysis. The title complex （C18H18NiN4O10, Mr = 509.07） belongs to the triclinic system, space group P1^- with a = 712490（7）, b = 11.0164（10）, c = 13.3864（13）A, α = 91.6040（10）,β= 98.8620（10）, γ= 107.1140（10）°, V= 1006.43（17）A^3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.680 g/cm^3,μ= 1.032 mm^-1, F（000） = 524, the final R = 0.0461 and wR= 0.1238. In the complex, the Ni（H） ion is six-coordinated to assume a distorted octahedral geometry, and a 3D supramolecular network comes into being via weak intermolecular interactions of X-O--.H （X = N, O）.

17β-estradiol inhibits TGF-β-induced collagen gel contraction mediated by human Tenon fibroblasts via Smads and MAPK signaling pathways

AIM:To investigate the impact of 17β-estradiol on the collagen gels contraction(CGC)and inflammation induced by transforming growth factor(TGF)-βin human Tenon fibroblasts(HTFs).METHODS:HTFs were three-dimensionally cultivated in type I collagen-generated gels with or without TGF-β(5 ng/mL),17β-estradiol(12.5 to 100μmol/L),or progesterone(12.5 to 100μmol/L).Then,the collagen gel diameter was determined to assess the contraction,and the development of stress fibers was analyzed using immunofluorescence *** and gelatin zymography assays were used to analyze matrix metalloproteinases(MMPs)and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases(TIMPs)being released into culture ***-linked immunosorbent assay(EliSA)and reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)were used to detect interleukin(IL)-6,monocyte chemoattractant proteins(MCP)-1,and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in HTFs at the translational and transcriptional *** phosphorylation levels of Sma-and Mad-related proteins(Smads),mitogen-activated protein kinases(MAPKs),and protein kinase B(AKT)were measured by *** analysis was performed using either the Tukey-Kramer test or Student’s unpaired t-test to compare the various ***:The CGC caused by TGF-βin HTFs was significantly inhibited by 17β-estradiol(25 to 100μmol/L),and a statistically significant difference was observed when comparing the normal control group with 17β-estradiol concentrations exceeding 25μmol/L(P<0.05).The suppressive impact of 17β-estradiol became evident 24h after administration and peaked at 72h(P<0.05),whereas progesterone had no ***,17β-estradiol attenuated the formation of stress fibers,and the production of MMP-3 and MMP-1 in HTFs stimulated by TGF-β.The expression of MCP-1,IL-6,and VEGF mRNA and protein in HTFs were suppressed by 100μmol/L 17β-estradiol(P<0.01).Additionally,the phosphorylation of Smad2 Smad3,p38,and extracellula

A whole process damage constitutive model for layered sandstone under uniaxial compression based on Logistic function

Bedding structural planes significantly influence the mechanical properties and stability of engineering rock *** study conducts uniaxial compression tests on layered sandstone with various bedding angles(0°,15°,30°,45°,60°,75°and 90°)to explore the impact of bedding angle on the deformational mechanical response,failure mode,and damage evolution processes of *** develops a damage model based on the Logistic equation derived from the modulus’s degradation considering the combined effect of the sandstone bedding dip angle and *** model is employed to study the damage accumulation state and its evolution within the layered rock *** research also introduces a piecewise constitutive model that considers the initial compaction characteristics to simulate the whole deformation process of layered sandstone under uniaxial *** results revealed that as the bedding angle increases from 0°to 90°,the uniaxial compressive strength and elastic modulus of layered sandstone significantly decrease,slightly increase,and then decline *** corresponding failure modes transition from splitting tensile failure to slipping shear failure and back to splitting tensile *** indicated by the modulus’s degradation,the damage characteristics can be categorized into four stages:initial no damage,damage initiation,damage acceleration,and damage deceleration *** theoretical damage model based on the Logistic equation effectively simulates and predicts the entire damage evolution ***,the theoretical constitutive model curves closely align with the actual stress−strain curves of layered sandstone under uniaxial *** introduced constitutive model is concise,with fewer parameters,a straightforward parameter determination process,and a clear physical *** study offers valuable insights into the theory of layered rock mechanics and holds implications for ensuring the safety of rock engineering.

The auxin transporter OsAUX1 regulates tillering in rice(Oryza sativa)
