Visible-light-driven photocatalysis degradation of antibiotic pollutants by La-doped CeO_(2) nanorods:synergy of La doping and oxygen vacancy

Elemental doping is an effective strategy to enhance photocatalytic activity and extend the light absorption range of single-component *** this work,a series of La-doped CeO_(2) nanorods(La-CeO_(2)-x) with La content of 1 wt%-15 wt% are synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method and further used as photocatalyst for sulfamerazine(SMR) *** prepared La-CeO_(2)-x nanorods exhibit a great improvement in electron-hole pair migration and visible-light response due to the synergistic effect of abundant oxygen vacancies and heterogeneous elements(La).Consequently,La-CeO_(2)-x exhibited excellent visible-light photocatalytic performances and chemical stability for SMR degradation,the La-CeO_(2)-5 sample achieved the highest SMR degradation rate of 81%,which was 3.4 times higher than that of the original CeO_(2).Furthermore,three possible degradation pathways of SMR in La-CeO_(2) photocatalytic reactions were proposed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry ***,density functional theory calculations were carried out to provide an in-depth understanding of the structure-performance *** its excellent properties and better photocatalytic performance,this study demonstrates that La doping in CeO_(2) is an effective way to increase oxygen vacancy and improve the photochemical properties of photocatalysts.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis(IPF)is a chronic and fatal lung disease characterized by pulmonary inflam-mation,oxidative stress,and excessive extracellular matrix(ECM)*** anti-fibrotic drugs for IPF treatment in the clinic lack selectivity and demonstrate unsatisfactory efficacy,highlighting the urgent necessity for a novel therapeutic ***(TA),which has biological activities against lung injury induced by various factors,is a potential anti-IPF drug due to its anti-inflammatory,antiox-idant and lung-protective ***,the protective effect of TA on IPF has not been confirmed,and its clinical application is limited due to its poor aqueous *** this study,we demonstrated that TA could inhibit epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)and migration of A549 cells by inhibiting the transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)/Smad signaling *** improve the aqueous solubility and pulmonary administration performance of TA,we prepared TA loaded methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(d,l-lactide)(mPEG-PLA)/d-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate(TPGS)mixed polymeric mi-celles(TA-PM).Then a MicroSprayer^(R) Aerosolizer was used to deliver TA-PM once every two days for three weeks to evaluate their therapeutic effects on bleomycin(BLM)-induced IPF *** results demonstrated that inhaled TA-PM significantly inhibited BLM-induced inflammation,oxidative stress and fibrosis in lung ***,TA-PM exhibited high pulmonary deposition and retention by pul-monary administration,along with a favorable safety ***,this study emphasizes the potential of inhaled TA-PM as a promising treatment for IPF,providing a new opportunity for their clinical appli-cation.

Forced boiling of nonazeotropic immiscible mixture in a supercapillary microchannel array for ultra-high heat flux removal with chip junction temperature below 85℃

In this study,a structure-optimized two-phase microchannel heat sink with sintered submicron nucleation sites was developed and *** copper-based microchannels had a rectangular cross-section with an equivalent hydraulic diameter of 222μ*** subcooled flow boiling characteristics were comprehensively compared between pure HFE-7100 and a non-azeotropic,immiscible binary mixture of HFE-7100 and water,considering heating areas of 1 and 5 cm^(2).The total heating power input to the test section were 100–1500 and 250–3000 W for a 1 and 5 cm^(2)heat source,respectively,with a flow rate ranging from 50 to150 L/*** to pure HFE-7100,the non-azeotropic immiscible binary mixture of HFE-7100/water in the sintered porous microchannels exhibited a much higher overall heat transfer coefficient and lower power *** maintain the junction temperature of a high power electronic chip below 85℃,the proposed supercapillary microchannel heat sink could effectively dissipate the heat flux of 1275 W/cm^(2)over 1 cm^(2)heat source and 500 W/cm^(2)over 5 cm^(2)heat *** addition,the volume ratio of the binary mixture strongly influence the two-phase flow heat transfer *** optimal volume ratio exist in terms of the thermal resistance–pumping power minimization(HFE-7100:water=2:8 is recommended in this study).The findings of this investigation on the flow boiling properties of non-azeotropic immiscible mixtures help fill a gap in the related field.

Electronic structural engineering of bimetallic Bi-Cu alloying nanosheet for highly-efficient CO_(2) electroreduction and Zn-CO_(2) batteries

Regulating the electronic structure of Bi-based materials by alloying engineering is promising to promote the electrocatalytic activity,but it remains some challenges to be *** this study,a facile electrochemical co-deposition strategy is developed to synthesize the bimetallic Bi_(9)Cu_(1) alloy nanosheet on carbon cloth(Bi_(9)Cu_(1)/CC),which represents a novel self-supporting electrode for the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide(CO_(2))reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR).The Bi_(9)Cu_(1)/CC catalyst has achieved a remarkable catalytic performance with high Faradaic efficiencies(FE)of over 90%for formate at wide potentials from-0.7 to-1.2 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Moreover,the reversible Zn-CO_(2) battery can be driven by Bi_(9)Cu_(1)/CC cathode with a largest power density of 1.4 mW·cm^(-2),and superior operating *** systematic characterizations and electrochemical results confirm that the improved catalytic active sites,the enhanced mass/charge transport and the optimal reaction kinetics of Bi nanosheet are realized for CO_(2)RR by Cu *** situ attenuated total reflection infrared(ATR-IR)result confirms the bimetallic Bi-Cu active sites prefer to follow the^(*)OCHO conversion *** density functional theory(DFT)calculations suggest that the Cu alloying contributes to the increased density of states near the Fermi surface of Bi and the optimized adsorption of^(*)OCHO intermediates on the Bi sites,resulting in the excellent catalytic performance.

Probabilistic seismic inversion based on physics-guided deep mixture density network

Deterministic inversion based on deep learning has been widely utilized in model parameters *** by logging data,seismic data,wavelet and modeling operator,deterministic inversion based on deep learning can establish nonlinear relationships between seismic data and model ***,seismic data lacks low-frequency and contains noise,which increases the non-uniqueness of the *** conventional inversion method based on deep learning can only establish the deterministic relationship between seismic data and parameters,and cannot quantify the uncertainty of *** order to quickly quantify the uncertainty,a physics-guided deep mixture density network(PG-DMDN)is established by combining the mixture density network(MDN)with the deep neural network(DNN).Compared with Bayesian neural network(BNN)and network dropout,PG-DMDN has lower computing cost and shorter training time.A low-frequency model is introduced in the training process of the network to help the network learn the nonlinear relationship between narrowband seismic data and low-frequency *** addition,the block constraints are added to the PG-DMDN framework to improve the horizontal continuity of the inversion *** illustrate the benefits of proposed method,the PG-DMDN is compared with existing semi-supervised inversion *** synthetic data examples of Marmousi II model are utilized to quantify the influence of forward modeling part,low-frequency model,noise and the pseudo-wells number on inversion results,and prove the feasibility and stability of the proposed *** addition,the robustness and generality of the proposed method are verified by the field seismic data.

Formation estimation and evolution mechanism of the pressure arch for non-circular tunnels under asymmetrical stress field

The tunneling-induced stress redistribution is dependent on the tunnel shape and the in-situ stress field, and the previous arch characterization method based on the circumferential or maximum principal stresses is only suitable for the circular tunnels under the hydrostatic stress field. In this study, a unified characterization method of the pressure arch for non-circular tunnels under the arbitrary stress field is proposed. By comparing the variations of compressive stress in different directions due to excavation, the ratio of the most significant increase in compressive stress is presented to characterize the arch effect, and the corresponding numerical algorithm is given. Since the proposed method takes the stress element as the basic analytical model, it can be easily applied to various complex excavation situations. Thereafter, combined with the established folding catastrophic model, an objective and unified quantitative method of the pressure arch boundaries is given. Using the proposed method, the longitudinal evolution of the pressure arch is analyzed. According to the expansion rate of the arch boundaries, three evolution stages including the initial formation, rapid expansion and stabilization are categorized. Parametric studies are conducted to illustrate the effect of ground properties and support stiffness on the pressure arch formation. It is found that the ground strength parameters and burial depth affect the arch range at a decreasing rate, while they have little effect on the arch shape. The lateral pressure coefficient has a significant effect on both the shape and range of the pressure arch. Increasing the support stiffness helps reduce the pressure arch range with a decreasing rate, while the synchronous variation of the elastic moduli of the surrounding rock and support does not affect the arch range under a certain relative elastic modulus. Finally, field monitoring is conducted to validate the proposed method in actual support design.

Mismatch loss analysis of solar array output power on stratospheric airship during flight

Stratospheric airships are long-endurance aerostats and have broad *** of the energy required for their operation is obtained from solar radiation,which makes accurate calculation of the energy output from the solar array crucial to the design and flight planning of the ***,the status of each photovoltaic module in the solar array may differ due to the airship curvature,resulting in mismatch losses and lowered output power,which has not been widely *** this paper,an irradiation model and a thermal model are established based on the actual arrangement of the *** output power model is established considering the non-uniform radiation in the *** mismatch losses of the array are analyzed under different flight *** output power of the solar array is decreased by up to 31.6%compared to the ideal ***,the proportion of mismatch losses increases with latitude,but the maximum mismatch loss power occurs at ***,an array reconfiguration method is proposed based on the irradiance dispersion index and position dispersion *** reconfigured array increases output power by 11.5%and can maintain energy balance in continuous *** results can be used to correct the overestimation of the output power during the airship design or to guide the configuration of the solar array.

The effect of addition temperature of MgO particles(MgOp)on their dispersion behavior and the efficiency of grain refinement in AZ31 Mg alloy was *** addition,the grain refinement mechanism was systematically studied by microstructure characterization,thermodynamic calculation,and analysis of solidification *** results show that the grain size of AZ31 Mg alloy initially decreases and then increases as the MgOp addition temperature is increased from 720 to 810°C,exhibiting a minimum value of 136μm at 780°*** improved grain refinement efficiency with increasing MgOp addition temperature can be attributed to the reduced Mg melt viscosity and enhanced wettability between MgOp and Mg ***,a corresponding physical model describing the solidification behavior and grain refinement mechanism was proposed.

Exploring the Interplay between Local Chain Structure and Stress Distribution in Polymer Networks

The mechanical behavior of polymer networks is intrinsically correlated with the local chain topology and chain *** this study,we delve into this relationship through the lens of coarse-grained molecular dynamics(CG-MD)*** aim is to illuminate the intricate interplay between local topology and stress distribution within polymer monomers,cross-linkers,and various components with distinct cross-link connections,thereby elucidating their collective impact on the mechanical properties of polymer *** mainly focus on how specific local structures contribute to the overall mechanical response of the *** particular,we employ local stress analysis to unravel the mechanics of these *** findings reveal the diverse responses of individual components,such as junctions,strands,cross-linkers between junctions,and dangling chain ends,when subjected to ***,we observe that these components exhibit varying degrees of deformation tolerance,underscoring the significance of their roles in determining the mechanical characteristics of the *** investigations highlight junctions as primary contributors to stress accumulation,and particles with higher local stress showing a stronger correlation between stress and Voronoi ***,our results indicate that both strands and cross-linkers between junctions exhibit heightened stress levels as strand lengths *** study enhances our understanding of the multifaceted factors governing the mechanical attributes of cross-linked polymer systems at the microstructural level.
