Effects of Acupotomy on Immobilization-Induced Gastrocnemius Contracture and Fibrosis in Rats via Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling

Association between Gene Polymorphisms and SNP-SNP Interactions of the Matrix Metalloproteinase 2 Signaling Pathway and the Risk of Vascular Senescence

Objective This study aimed to explore the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)in the matrix metalloproteinase 2(MMP-2)signaling pathway and the risk of vascular senescence(VS).Methods In this cross-sectional study,between May and November 2022,peripheral venous blood of151 VS patients(case group)and 233 volunteers(control group)were *** SNPs were identified in five genes encoding the components of the MMP-2 signaling pathway,assessed through carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity(cf PWV),and analyzed using multivariate logistic *** multigene influence on the risk of VS was assessed using multifactor dimensionality reduction(MDR)and generalized multifactor dimensionality regression(GMDR)*** Within the multivariate logistic regression models,four SNPs were screened to have significant associations with VS:chemokine(C-C motif)ligand 2(CCL2)rs4586,MMP2 rs14070,MMP2rs7201,and MMP2 *** of the T/C genotype of MMP2 rs14070 had a 2.17-fold increased risk of developing VS compared with those of the C/C genotype,and those of the T/T genotype had a19.375-fold increased ***2 rs4586 and MMP-2 rs14070 exhibited the most significant *** CCL2 rs4586,MMP-2 rs14070,MMP-2 rs7201,and MMP-2 rs1053605 polymorphisms were significantly associated with the risk of VS.

New insights into the DPR mechanism of elastic energy released by polymer gel for enhanced oil recovery

Polymer gel was widely used as water shutoff agent in mature oil *** the results of single-phase plugging experiments show that the plugging rate of the polymer gel to the oil phase is lower than that of the water ***,the disproportionate permeability reduction(DPR)mechanism of polymer gels still remains *** this paper,we used four gel formulations including polyethyleneimine(PEI)and phenol-formaldehyde crosslinked gel with and without adding laponite to investigate the effect of gel elastic property on the water shutoff *** result of sand pack flooding experiments shown that the gel with higher elastic modulus has better effects on decreasing water cut and increasing oil *** adding laponite,the elastic modulus of phenol-formaldehyde crosslinked gel increased from 64.2 Pa to 192 Pa,and the elastic modulus of PEI crosslinked gel increased from 27.4 Pa to 36.5 *** to the phenol-formaldehyde-HAPM gel,the oil recovery of laponite-phenol-formaldehyde-HPAM gel increased by 5.2%and the maximum water cut decreased by 8.3%.Besides,comparing with PEI-HPAM gel,the oil recovery of laponite-PEI-HPAM gel increased by 2.7%and the water cut dropped by 27.8%.In the meanwhile,the laponite-phenol-formaldehyde-HPAM gel with higher elastic modulus obviously swells in the formation water but almost remains constant in oil at 105℃.The mass of gel soaked in the formation water increased from 42 g to 96 g and the gel volume increased by 300%within 48 *** study improves the understanding of the DPR mechanism of polymer gel for water shutoff.

In this work,we established an exceptionally facile method for the preparation of Ni-CeO_(2)nanorods in a kind of deep eutectic solvents(DESs)composed of l-proline and Ce(NO_(3))_(3)·6H_(2)***,Ni-CeO_(2)nanorods were successfully prepared by adding Ni(NO_(3))_(3)·6H_(2)O to ***,we found that Ni-CeO_(2)nanorods prepared in DESs have more prominent oxidase-like activity than pure CeO_(2).The outstanding catalytic activity of Ni-CeO_(2)could be ascribed to its high Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+)*** a proof-of-concept application,the Ni-CeO_(2)nanorods were successfully acted as a colorimetric platform for the sensitive determination of ascorbic acid andα-glucosidase activity,which displays excellent analytical ***,this sensing platform was applied for screening naturalα-glucosidase inhibitors,such as terpenoids from natural *** results indicated that ursolic acid and oleanolic acid had good inhibitory *** strategy not only provides a new way to construct more kinds of nanomaterials from DESs,but also offers a facile and effective tool to screen theα-glucosidase natural inhibitors as potential anti-diabetic drugs.

Long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)have been implicated in cancer progression and drug resistance ***,there is evidence that lncRNA HOX transcript antisense intergenic RNA(HOTAIR)is involved in colorectal cancer(CRC)*** present study aimed to examine the functional role of lncRNA HOTAIR in conferring radiotherapy resistance in CRC cells,as well as the underlying *** relative expression levels of HOTAIR were examined in 70 pairs of CRC tumor and para-cancerous tissues,as well as in radiosensitive and radioresistant *** correlations between HOTAIR expression levels and clinical features of patients with CRC were assessed using the Chi-square *** assays such as cell proliferation,colony formation and apoptosis assays were conducted to determine the radiosensitivity in CRC cells with HOTAIR silencing after treatment with different doses of *** pull-down assay andﬂuorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)were used to determine the interaction between HOTAIR and DNA damage response mediator ataxia-telangiectasia mutated-and Rad3-related(ATR).HOTAIR was signiﬁcantly upregulated in CRC tumor tissues,especially in radioresistant tumor *** elevated expression of HOTAIR was correlated with more advanced histological grades,distance metastasis and the poor prognosis in patients with *** HOTAIR suppressed the proliferation and promoted apoptosis and radiosensitivity in CRC *** knockdown also inhibited the tumorigenesis of CRC cells and enhanced the sensitivity to radiotherapy in a mouse xenograft ***,the data showed that HOTAIR could interact with ATR to regulate the DNA damage repair signaling *** HOTAIR impaired the ATR-ATR interacting protein(ATRIP)complex and signaling in cell cycle ***,the present results indicate that lncRNA HOTAIR facilitates the DNA damage response pathway and promotes radioresistance in CRC cells by targeting ATR.

Ultrasound-guided paravertebral nerve block anesthesia for percutaneous endoscopic laser unroofing treatment of symptomatic simple renal cysts—An innovative ambulatory surgery mode

Objective:This study was designed to evaluate the feasibility,efficacy,and safety of percutaneous ureteroscopy laser unroofing as an ambulatory surgery for symptomatic simple renal cysts under multilevel paravertebral nerve block ***:From December 2015 to September 2017,33 simple renal cyst patients who had surgical indications were *** ultrasound guidance,the T10/T11,T11/T12,and T12/L1 paravertebral spaces were identified,and 7-10 mL 0.5%ropivacaine was injected at each *** a puncture needle was placed inside the cyst cavity under ultrasonic monitoring.A guidewire was introduced followed by sequential dilation up to 28/30 *** extra parenchymal portion of the cyst wall was dissociated and incised using a thulium laser,and a pathological examination was ***:Sensory loss to pinprick from T8 to L1 and sensory loss to ice from T6 to L2 were observed in all *** of the patients complained of pain during *** serious complications occurred *** the surgery,all patients recovered their lower limb muscle strength quickly,got out of bed,resumed oral feeding,and left the hospital within 24 h of *** pathologic diagnosis of all cyst walls was a simple renal *** mean follow-up was 35.8 *** the end of follow-up,the cyst units were reduced in size by more than 50%compared to the preoperative size,and no patient experienced a ***:Multi-level paravertebral nerve block for percutaneous ureteroscopy laser unroofing as an ambulatory surgery mode is feasible,safe,and effective for the treatment of simple renal cysts in selected patients.

BACKGROUND The TRIANGLE operation involves the removal of all tissues within the triangle bounded by the portal vein-superior mesenteric vein,celiac axis-common hepatic artery,and superior mesenteric artery to improve patient *** previously promising in patients with locally advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC),data are limited regarding the long-term oncological outcomes of the TRIANGLE operation among resectable PDAC patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy(PD).AIM To evaluate the safety of the TRIANGLE operation during PD and the prognosis in patients with resectable *** This retrospective cohort study included patients who underwent PD for pancreatic head cancer between January 2017 and April 2023,with or without the TRIANGLE *** were divided into the PD_(TRIANGLE)and PD_(non-TRIANGLE)*** and survival outcomes were compared between the two *** adjuvant chemotherapy was defined as adjuvant chemotherapy≥6 *** The PD_(TRIANGLE)and PD_(non-TRIANGLE) groups included 52 and 55 patients,*** were no significant differences in the baseline characteristics or perioperative indexes between the two ***,the recurrence rate was lower in the PD_(TRIANGLE) group than in the PD_(non-TRIANGLE) group(48.1%vs 81.8%,P<0.001),and the local recurrence rate of PDAC decreased from 37.8%to 16.0%.Multivariate Cox regression analysis revealed that PD_(TRIANGLE)(HR=0.424;95%CI:0.256-0.702;P=0.001),adequate adjuvant chemotherapy≥6 months(HR=0.370;95%CI:0.222-0.618;P<0.001)and margin status(HR=2.255;95%CI:1.252-4.064;P=0.007)were found to be independent factors for the recurrence *** The TRIANGLE operation is safe for PDAC patients undergoing ***,it reduces the local recurrence rate of PDAC and may improve survival in patients who receive adequate adjuvant chemotherapy.

Two-dimensional bimetallic selenium-containing metal-organic frameworks and their calcinated derivatives as electrocatalysts for overall water splitting

The use of two-dimensional(2D)layered metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as self-sacrificial templates has been proven to be a successful method to create high-efficiency Selenium(Se)-containing electrocatalysts for overall water ***,two strategies are then utilized to introduce Se element into the Co–Fe MOF,one being the etching of as-prepared MOF by SeO_(2) solution,and the other,the replacing of SCN−with SeCN−as the construction *** electrochemical activity of the pristine 2D MOF and their calcinated derivatives for catalyzing the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is evaluated and further *** is found that the effect of introducing Se on improving electrochemical catalytic activity is significant for the HER ***,the calcinated derivative in the replacing method exhibits an overpotential of 235 mV for HER and 270 mV for OER at a current density of 10 mA/*** comparing the two methods of introducing Se element into MOF,similar electrocatalytic activity can be achieved on the their calcinated *** high electrochemical performance of 2D CoFe-MOF derivatives may be resulted from the unique 2D hierarchical porous structure and strong synergistic effect between different components in the material.
