A non-labeled DNA biosensor based on light addressable potentiometric sensor modified with TiO_2 thin film

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) thin film was deposited on the surface of the light addressable potentiometric sensor (LAPS) to modify the sensor surface for the non-labeled detection of DNA molecules. To evaluate the effect of ultraviolet (UV) treatment on the silanization level of TiO2 thin film by 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTS),fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) was used to label the amine group on the end of APTS immobilized onto the TiO2 thin film. We found that,with UV irradiation,the silanization level of the irradiated area of the TiO2 film was improved compared with the non-irradiated area under well-controlled conditions. This result indicates that TiO2 can act as a coating material on the biosensor surface to improve the effect and efficiency of the covalent immobilization of biomolecules on the sensor surface. The artificially synthesized probe DNA molecules were covalently linked onto the surface of TiO2 film. The hybridization of probe DNA and target DNA was monitored by the recording of I-V curves that shift along the voltage axis during the process of reaction. A significant LAPS signal can be detected at 10 μmol/L of target DNA sample.

It is well known that the low-valent Cu species are important catalytically active centers in the reduction of CO_(2) to hydrocarbon ***,the Cu(l)-based catalysts are easily reduced during the electroreduction of CO_(2),which causes phase transformation of catalysts and leads to a decrease of intrinsic catalytic ***,it is of great significance to synthesize Cu(l)-based catalysts with specific interactions that can keep the catalytically active Cu sites stable in the electrocatalytic *** on the above considerations,a hexanuclear Cu cluster with strong cuprophilic interactions has been designed and utilized as a secondary building unit(SBU)to construct a stable metal-organic framework(MOF)electrocatalyst(NNU-50).As expected,the NNU-50 has served as an effective electrocatalyst for the CO_(2)-to-CH4 conversion by exhibiting a high Faradaic efficiency for CH4(FEcH4)of 66.40%and a large current density of~400 mA·cm-2 at-1.0 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE),which is one of the best catalytic performances among the stable MOF electrocatalysts until *** work contributes more ideas for the design of stable and efficient MOF-based electrocatalysts for CO_(2) reduction reaction.

Background:A high prevalence of diabetes mellitus(DM)coexisting with autoimmune pancreatitis(AIP)is ***,evidence on the circumstances under which corticosteroid therapy(CST)for AIP improves or worsens DM is *** study aimed to demonstrate and identify predictors of DM control under the influence of ***:Patients diagnosed with type 1 AIP were enrolled from a prospectively maintained cohort and were classified into three groups according to the chronology in which AIP and DM were diagnosed:pre-existing DM(pDM),concurrent DM(cDM),and non-DM(nDM).The responses of DM to CST were assessed when corticosteroid was ceased or tapered to a maintenance dose and classified as‘improvement’and‘non-improvement’(including‘no change’and‘exacerbation’).Results:Among 101 patients with type 1 AIP,52(51.5%)patients were complicated with DM at the time of AIP diagnosis,with 36 patients in the cDM group and 16 patients in the pDM *** incidences of diffuse pancreatic swelling(72.2%)and pancreatic body/tail involvement(91.7%)were significantly higher in the cDM group than in both the pDM and nDM *** the 52 patients with DM,CST was administered in 48 *** logistic analysis identified that elevated serum gamma-glutamyl transferase(GGT)level at AIP diagnosis[odds ratio(OR)=0.032,95%confidence interval(CI):0.003-0.412,P=0.008]and pancreatic atrophy after CST(OR=0.027,95%CI:0.003-0.295,P=0.003)were negatively associated with DM control ***:Patients with diffuse pancreatic swelling and pancreatic body/tail involvement in pancreatitis tended to be complicated with cDM at AIP *** exerted a beneficial effect on the clinical course of DM in nearly half of the AIP patients complicated with DM at diagnosis,particularly in those without elevated serum GGT levels at diagnosis and who did not experience pancreatic atrophy after CST.

Objective To investigate the short- and long-term therapeutic efficacies of intravenous transplantation of bone marrow stem cells(MSCs) in rats with experimental myocardial infarction by *** Randomized controlled trials were systematically searched from Pub Med,Science Citation Index(SCI),Chinese journal full-text database(CJFD) up to December *** the experimental groups(MSCs groups) were injected MSCs intravenously,the control groups were injected Delubecco's minimum essential medium(DMEM) or phosphate buffered saline(PBS).Subgroup analysis for each outcome measure was performed for the observing time point after the transplantation of *** mean differences(WMD) and 95% confidence intervals(CI) were calculated for outcome parameters including ejection fraction(EF) and fractional shortening(FS),which were measured by echocardiogram after intravenous injection and analyzed by Rev Man 5.2 and STATA *** Data from 9 studies(190 rats) were included in the *** compared to the control groups,the cardiac function of the experimental groups were not improved at day 7(EF:WMD=0.08,95%CI-1.32 to 1.16,P>0.01; FS:WMD=-0.12,95%CI-0.90 to 0.65,P>0.01) until at day 14 after MSCs' transplantation(EF:WMD=10.79,95%CI 9.16 to 12.42,Plusion The therapeutic efficacies of MSCs in rats with myocardid infarction become increasing apparent as time advances since 2 weeks after injection.

PbTe/SnTe hybrid nanocrystals with designed shape, chemical composition and narrow size distribution were synthesized by an efficient solvothermal approach. This approach enables mass and economical synthesis of PbTe-based nanocrystals. The organic ligands were completely removed by pretreatment with a super-hydride solution, making it possible to fabricate fully dense and robust thermoelectric devices with increased electrical conductivity.
