Cavity-agnostic acoustofluidic manipulations enabled by guided flexural waves on a membrane acoustic waveguide actuator

This article presents an in-depth exploration of the acoustofluidic capabilities of guided flexural waves(GFWs)generated by a membrane acoustic waveguide actuator(MAWA).By harnessing the potential of GFWs,cavity-agnostic advanced particle manipulation functions are achieved,unlocking new avenues for microfluidic systems and lab-on-a-chip *** localized acoustofluidic effects of GFWs arising from the evanescent nature of the acoustic fields they induce inside a liquid medium are numerically investigated to highlight their unique and promising *** traditional acoustofluidic technologies,the GFWs propagating on the MAWA’s membrane waveguide allow for cavity-agnostic particle manipulation,irrespective of the resonant properties of the fluidic ***,the acoustofluidic functions enabled by the device depend on the flexural mode populating the active region of the membrane *** demonstrations using two types of particles include in-sessile-droplet particle transport,mixing,and spatial separation based on particle diameter,along with streaming-induced counter-flow virtual channel generation in microfluidic PDMS *** experiments emphasize the versatility and potential applications of the MAWA as a microfluidic platform targeted at lab-on-a-chip development and showcase the MAWA’s compatibility with existing microfluidic systems.

Many types of plastic products,including polystyrene,have long been used in commercial and industrial *** and nanoplastics,plastic particles derived from these plastic products,are emerging as environmental pollutants that can pose health risks to a wide variety of living organisms,including ***,it is not well understood how microplastics and nanoplastics affect cellular functions and induce stress *** can be exposed to polystyrene-microplastics and polystyrene-nanoplastics through ingestion,inhalation,or skin *** ingested plastics are excreted from the body,but inhaled plastics may accumulate in the lungs and can even reach the brain via the nose-to-brain ***-sized polystyrene-nanoplastics can enter cells by endocytosis,accumulate in the cytoplasm,and cause various cellular stresses,such as inflammation with increased pro-inflammatory cytokine production,oxidative stress with generation of reactive oxygen species,and mitochondrial *** induce autophagy activation and autophagosome formation,but autophagic flux may be impaired due to lysosomal *** permanently exposed to polystyrene-nanoplastics,they can be removed from cells by exocytosis and subsequently restore cellular ***,neurons are very susceptible to this type of stress,thus even acute exposure can lead to neurodegeneration without *** review focuses specifically on recent advances in research on polystyrene-nanoplastic-induced cytotoxicity and ***,in this review,based on mechanistic studies of polystyrene-nanoplastics at the cellular level other than neurons,future directions for overcoming the negative effects of polystyrene-nanoplastics on neurons were suggested.

补骨脂素调控Keap1/Nrf2通路减轻丙泊酚诱导的幼龄大鼠神经毒性

目的探讨补骨脂素对幼龄大鼠神经毒性的保护作用及机制。方法采用100μmol/L丙泊酚孵育海马细胞系HT22细胞6h诱导细胞炎性,设置对照组、丙泊酚组、丙泊酚+补骨脂素(1、5、10μmol/L)组、丙泊酚+补骨脂素(10μmol/L)+Keap1/Nrf2通路抑制剂(KI696,5μmol/L)组。CCK8试验检测细胞活力,流式细胞术检测凋亡。幼龄SD大鼠随机分为对照组(C组)、丙泊酚组(P组)、丙泊酚+补骨脂素组(PP组)、丙泊酚+补骨脂素+KI696组(PPI组)。P组大鼠腹腔注射丙泊酚50 mg/kg,PP组注射丙泊酚和补骨脂素20 mg/kg,PPI组注射丙泊酚、补骨脂素和KI69630μmol/kg。采用Nissl染色观察海马组织病理结构变化,ELISA法检测细胞和组织炎症反应(IL-6和TNF-α水平)和氧化应激(MDA含量、SOD和GSH活性),Westernblot检测Keap1和Nrf2蛋白表达。结果与对照组相比较,丙泊酚组HT22细胞活力明显降低,细胞凋亡、Keap1蛋白水平、炎症和氧化应激显著升高(P<0.05);补骨脂素以剂量依赖的形式改善细胞神经炎症和氧化应激(P<0.05),KI696处理可逆转补骨脂素对细胞功能的保护作用。与C组比较,P组大鼠海马组织炎症和氧化应激加重。补骨脂素处理减轻了大鼠海马组织神经元受损。结论补骨脂素治疗可激活Keap1/Nrf2通路缓解丙泊酚诱导的幼龄大鼠神经毒性。

目的:观察“颈部七线”取穴法针刺预防性治疗肝阳上亢型无先兆偏头痛的临床疗效。方法:将58例缓解期肝阳上亢型无先兆偏头痛患者随机分为观察组(29例,脱落3例)和对照组(29例,脱落4例)。观察组予“颈部七线”取穴法针刺治疗,穴取大椎、风府及双侧风池、供血等;对照组予常规针刺治疗,穴取患侧阿是穴、丝竹空、率谷、太阳等。两组均隔1~2d治疗1次,每周治疗3次,连续治疗8周。分别于治疗前,治疗4、8周后及治疗结束后4周(随访)观察两组患者头痛发作天数、头痛发作次数、疼痛视觉模拟量表(VAS)评分及偏头痛特异性生活质量问卷(MSQ)评分;于治疗前及治疗8周后观察两组患者中医证候积分;并于治疗4、8周后及治疗结束后4周(随访)计算两组患者头痛发作天数与头痛发作次数减半率。结果:治疗4、8周后及随访时,两组患者头痛发作天数及头痛发作次数均较治疗前减少(P<0.01),VAS评分均较治疗前降低(P<0.01);观察组患者随访时头痛发作天数及头痛发作次数少于对照组(P<0.05),治疗8周后及随访时VAS评分低于对照组(P<0.05)。治疗4、8周后及随访时,观察组患者MSQ功能障碍领域和情感领域评分较治疗前升高(P<0.05);治疗8周后及随访时,观察组患者MSQ功能受限领域评分较治疗前升高(P<0.05),对照组患者MSQ功能受限领域、功能障碍领域和情感领域评分较治疗前升高(P<0.05)。治疗8周后,两组患者中医证候积分较治疗前降低(P<0.01)。观察组治疗8周后头痛发作天数减半率及随访时头痛发作次数减半率高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论:“颈部七线”取穴法针刺可减少肝阳上亢型无先兆偏头痛患者头痛发作天数、发作次数及疼痛强度,改善患者中医证候以及生活质量。

Using Echo Ultrasound from Schooling Fish to Detect and Classify Fish Types

Fish finders have already been widely available in the fishing market for a number of ***,the sizes of these fish finders are too big and their prices are expensive to suit for the research of robotic fish or *** goal of this research is to propose a low-cost fish detector and classifier which suits for underwater robot or submarine as a proximity sensor. With some pre-condition in hardware and algorithms,the experimental results show that the proposed design has good per- formance,with a detection rate of 100 % and a classification rate of 94 %.Both the existing type of fish and the group behavior can be revealed by statistical interpretations such as hovering passion and sparse swimming mode.

In present,there are increasing interests in the research on mechanical and control system of underwater *** ongoing research efforts are motivated by more pervasive applications of such vehicles including seabed oil and gas explorations, scientific deep ocean surveys,military purposes,ecological and water environmental studies,and also entertainments. However,the performance of underwater vehicles with screw type propellers is not prospective in terms of its efficiency and *** main weaknesses of this kind of propellers are the production of vortices and sudden generation of thrust forces which make the control of the position and motion difficult. On the other hand,fishes and other aquatic animals are efficient swimmers,posses high maneuverability,are able to follow trajectories,can efficiently stabilize themselves in currents and surges,create less wakes than currently used underwater vehicle, and also have a noiseless *** fish's locomotion mechanism is mainly controlled by its caudal fin and paired pectoral *** are classified into Body and/or Caudal Fin(BCF)and Median and/or paired Pectoral Fins(MPF).The study of highly efficient swimming mechanisms of fish can inspire a better underwater vehicles thruster design and its mechanism. Effect of polyethylene glycol on electrochemically deposited trivalent chromium layers

The structural characteristics of the trivalent chromium deposits and their interfacial behavior in the plating solution with and without polyethylene glycol molecules were observed by using various electrochemical methods such as cyclic voltammetry,open circuit potential transition,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron *** is shown that the polyethylene glycol molecules make the reductive current density lower in the trivalent chromium plating system and promote a hydrogen evolution reaction through their adsorption on the electrode *** the trivalent chromium layer formed from the polyethylene glycol-containing solution has somewhat higher density of cracks on its surface and results in a lower film resistance,lower polarization resistance,and higher capacitance in a corrosive *** is also revealed that the formation of chromium carbide layer is facilitated in the presence of polyethylene glycol,which means easier electrochemical codeposition of chromium and carbon,not single chromium deposition.
