BACKGROUND Intestinal obstruction is a common occurrence in clinical ***,the occurrence of herpes zoster complicated by intestinal obstruction after abdominal surgery is exceedingly *** the diagnostic and treatment process,clinicians consider it crucial to identify the primary causes of its occurrence to ensure effective treatment and avoiding *** SUMMARY Herein,we present the case of a 40-year-old female patient with intestinal obstruction who underwent laparoscopic appendectomy and developed herpes zoster after *** the patient's clinical manifestations and relevant laboratory tests,it was suggested that the varicella zoster virus reactivated during the latent period after abdominal surgery,causing herpes ***,the herpes virus invaded the visceral nerve fibers,causing gastrointestinal dysfunction and loss of intestinal peristalsis,which eventually led to intestinal *** patient was successfully treated through conservative treatment and antiviral therapy and subsequently discharged from the *** Pseudo-intestinal obstruction secondary to herpes zoster infection is difficult to distinguish from mechanical intestinal obstruction owing to various *** cases of inexplicable intestinal obstructions,considering the possibility of a viral infection is essential to minimize misdiagnosis and missed diagnoses。

Revealing the key role of non-solvating diluents for fast-charging and low temperature Li-ion batteries

Fast-charging and low temperature operation are of vital importance for the further development of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),which is hindered by the utilization of conventional carbonate-based electrolytes due to their slow kinetics,narrow operating temperature and voltage ***,an acetonitrile(AN)-based localized high-concentration electrolyte(LHCE)is proposed to retain liquid state and high ionic conductivity at ultra-low temperatures while possessing high oxidation *** originally reveal the excellent thermal shielding effect of non-solvating diluent to prevent the aggregation of Li^(+) solvates as temperature drops,maintaining the merits of fast Li transport and facile desolvation as at room temperature,which bestows the graphite electrode with remarkable low temperature performance(264 mA h g^(-1) at-20 C).Remarkably,an extremely high capacity retention of 97%is achieved for high-voltage high-energy graphite||NCM batteries after 250 cycles at-20 C,and a high capacity of 110 mA h g^(-1)(71%of its room-temperature capacity)is retained at-30°*** study unveils the key role of the non-solvating diluents and provides instructive guidance in designing electrolytes towards fast-charging and low temperature LIBs.

The aim of this experiment was to investigate the ameliorative effect and molecular mechanism of tilapia head glycolipid(TH-GL)on indomethacin(IDM)-induced gastric ulcer in male Sprague Dawley(SD)*** gastric ulcer model was established by oral administration of 30mgkg^(-1) IDM after 7 days of TH-GL or omeprazole(OME)administration in *** the macroscopic gastric injury symptoms,gastric mucosa protective factor cyclooxygenase 1(COX-1),cyclooxygenase 2(COX-2),prostaglandin E_(2)(PGE_(2)),the levels of oxidative stress,and inflammatory cytokine expression levels in the rats were *** experimental results showed that multiple ulcers appeared on the gastric surface of the rats in the model *** to the model group,TH-GL significantly alleviated gastric ulcers and reduced the gastric damage index in *** addition,TH-GL significantly promoted the expression of constitutive enzyme COX-1 while inhibited the expression of inducible enzyme COX-2,and make PGE2 maintain at normal ***-GL also inhibited oxidative stress and inflammatory responses,increased superoxide dismutase(SOD)activity and glutathione(GSH)content,decreased the level of malondialdehyde(MDA)and the content of pro-inflammatory *** conclusion,these results suggested that TH-GL could maintain the expression levels of COX-1 and PGE2 while inhibit the expression of COX-2 in the gastric of rat and then prevent IDM-induced gastric ulcer,which may be related to the regulation of oxidative stress and inflammatory ***,TH-GL might be a new option for the prevention of gastric diseases induced by IDM.

Composite solid electrolytes(CSEs) containing polymer matrices and inorganic fillers hold promise for the next generation of solid-state ***,the role of residual solvents in CSEs remains *** study investigated the evolution and function of the residual solvent in a polymer-Li_2B_(12)H_(12) CSE.A partial reaction occurred between Li_2B_(12)H_(12) and solvent N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF),which produced dimethylaminomethanol(DMAM) in the *** functional theory calculations have revealed that DMA M forms stronger hydrogen bonds with polyvinylidene fluoride chains than DMF,which can have a plasticizing effect on the polymer matrix,leading to lower crystallinity and quicker segment ***,this CSE exhibited improved Li-ion conducting properties,enabling the stable cycling of Li‖LiFePO_(4) solid-state *** study provided insights into the role of residual solvents in CSEs.

The gastrointestinal system of the human body is home for a large number and rich variety of microbes,including bacteria,viruses,fungi and protozoa,which are collectively known as the gut microbiota(the largest and most intricate“organ”within the body).Till now,the groundbreaking research has emerged elucidating the pivotal role of the gut microbiota in human health and *** normal gut microbiota,after long evolution with the host,has formed an interdependent and mutually limited homeostasis system,which can produce beneficial metabolites for preserving intestinal integrity and preventing the onset of leaky gut syndrome along with subsequent immune activation and *** the number of gut microbial metabolites is not fully understood,several metabolites(e.g.,short-chain fatty acids and branched-chain amino acids)have been tested to determine positive or negative effects on the development of specific diseases,which may be a new direction for the prevention and treatment of diseases.

Background The aim of this study was to review current delivery room(DR)resuscitation intensity in Chinese tertiary neonatal intensive care units and to investigate the association between DR resuscitation intensity and short-term outcomes in preterm infants born at 24+0_31+6 weeks gestation age(GA).Methods This was a retrospective cross-sectional *** source population was infants born at 24+0_31+6 weeks'GA who were enrolled in the Chinese Neonatal Network 2019 *** infants were categorized into five groups:(1)regular care;(2)oxygen supplementation and/or continuous positive airway pressure(O2/CPAP);(3)mask ventilation;(4)endotracheal intubation;and(5)cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).The association between DR resuscitation and shortterm outcomes was evaluated by inverse propensity score-weighted logistic *** Of 7939 infants included in this cohort,2419(30.5%)received regular care,1994(25.1%)received O,/CPAP,1436(18.1%)received mask ventilation,1769(22.3%)received endotracheal intubation,and 321(4.0%)received CPR in the *** maternal age and maternal hypertension correlated with a higher need for resuscitation,and antenatal steroid use tended to be associated with a lower need for resuscitation(P<0.001).Severe brain impairment increased significantly with increasing amounts of resuscitation in DR after adjusting for perinatal *** strategies vary widely between centers,with over 50%of preterm infants in eight centers requiring higher intensity *** Increased intensity of DR interventions was associated with increased mortality and morbidities in very preterm infants in *** is wide variation in resuscitative approaches across delivery centers,and ongoing quality improvement to standardize resuscitation practices is needed.

Ba^(2+)/Ca^(2+)co-crosslinked alginate hydrogel filtration membrane with high strength,high flux and stability for dye/salt separation

Effects of desert plant communities on soil enzyme activities and soil organic carbon in the proluvial fan in the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountain in Ningxia,China

It is of great significance to study the effects of desert plants on soil enzyme activities and soil organic carbon(SOC)for maintaining the stability of the desert *** this study,we studied the responses of soil enzyme activities and SOC fractions(particulate organic carbon(POC)and mineral-associated organic carbon(MAOC))to five typical desert plant communities(Convolvulus tragacanthoides,Ephedra rhytidosperma,Stipa breviflora,Stipa tianschanica ***,and Salsola laricifolia communities)in the proluvial fan in the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountain in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,*** recorded the plant community information mainly including the plant coverage and herb and shrub species,and obtained the aboveground biomass and plant species diversity through sample surveys in late July *** samples were also collected at depths of 0–10 cm(topsoil)and 10–20 cm(subsoil)to determine the soil physicochemical properties and enzyme *** results showed that the plant coverage and aboveground biomass of *** community were significantly higher than those of ***,***,and *** *** communities(P<0.05).Soil enzyme activities varied among different plant *** the topsoil,the enzyme activities of alkaline phosphatase(ALP)andβ-1,4-glucosidas(βG)were significantly higher in *** and *** *** communities than in other plant communities(P<0.05).The topsoil had higher POC and MAOC contents than the ***,the content of POC in the topsoil was 18.17%–42.73%higher than that in the *** structural equation model(SEM)indicated that plant species diversity,soil pH,and soil water content(SWC)were the main factors influencing POC and *** soil pH inhibited the formation of POC and promoted the formation of ***,SWC stimulated POC production and hindered MAOC *** study aimed to gain insight into the effects of desert plant c
