Dear Editor,Light fields give relatively complete description of scenes from perspective of angles and positions of rays. At present time, most of the computer vision algorithms take 2D images as input which are simplified expression of light fields with depth information discarded. In theory, computer vision tasks may achieve better performance as long as complete light fields are acquired.

BACKGROUND For the first time,we investigated the oncological role of plexin domain-containing 1(PLXDC1),also known as tumor endothelial marker 7(TEM7),in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).AIM To investigate the oncological profile of PLXDC1 in *** Based on The Cancer Genome Atlas database,we analyzed the expression of PLXDC1 in *** immunohistochemistry,quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),and Western blotting,we validated our *** prognostic value of PLXDC1 in HCC was analyzed by assessing its correlation with clinicopathological features,such as patient survival,methylation level,tumor immune microenvironment features,and immune cell surface checkpoint ***,to assess the immune evasion potential of PLXDC1 in HCC,we used the tumor immune dysfunction and exclusion(TIDE)website and immunohistochemical staining *** Based on immunohistochemistry,qRT-PCR,and Western blot assays,overexpression of PLXDC1 in HCC was associated with poor *** and multivariate Cox analyses indicated that PLXDC1 might be an independent prognostic *** HCC patients with high methylation levels,the prognosis was worse than in patients with low methylation *** enrichment analysis of HCC tissues indicated that genes upregulated in the high-PLXDC1 subgroup were enriched in mesenchymal and immune activation signaling,and TIDE assessment showed that the risk of immune evasion was significantly higher in the high-PLXDC1 subgroup compared to the low-PLXDC1 *** high-risk group had a significantly lower immune evasion rate as well as a poor prognosis,and PLXDC1-related risk scores were also associated with a poor *** As a result of this study analyzing PLXDC1 from multiple biological perspectives,it was revealed that it is a biomarker of poor prognosis for HCC patients,and that it plays a role in determining immune evasion status.

AIM:To analyze the distribution of refractive status in school-age children with different corneal curvatures(CC)and the correlation between CC and refractive ***:A total of 2214 school-aged children of grade 4 in Hangzhou who were screened for school myopia were *** distance visual acuity(UCDVA),non-cycloplegic refraction,axial length(AL),horizontal and vertical corneal curvature(K1,K2)were measured and spherical equivalent(SE),corneal curvature radius(CCR)and axial length/corneal radius of curvature ratio(AL/CR)were ***<5.0 and SE≤-0.50 D were classified as school-screening *** to the different CCRs,the patients were divided into the lower corneal curvature(LCC)group(CCR≥7.92)and the higher corneal curvature(HCC)group(CCR<7.92).Each group was further divided into the normal AL subgroup and the long AL *** refractive parameters were compared to identify any differences between the two ***:Both SE and AL were greater in the LCC group(P=0.013,P<0.001).The prevalence of myopia was 38% in the LCC group and 44% in the HCC group(P<0.001).The proportion of children without screening myopia was higher in the LCC group(62%)than in the HCC group(56%).Among these children without screening myopia,the proportion of long AL in the LCC group(24%)was significantly higher than that in the HCC group(0.012%;P<0.001).The change of SE in the LCC group was less affected by the increase of AL than that in the HCC ***:School-aged children in the LCC group have a lower incidence of screening myopia and longer *** CC can mask SE reduction and AL growth to some extent,and the change of AL growth change more in children with low CC than high *** the onset of myopia,its growth rate is even faster than that after the onset of myopia.

Formaldehyde is a common atmospheric pollutant produced in industrial production and daily ***,the traditional semiconductor formaldehyde gas sensor cannot work at room temperature,which limits its practical ***,developing high-performance gas sensors for rapidly and accurately detecting formaldehyde at room temperature is an important *** this study,Ti_(3)C_(2)Tx/SnO_(2)heterostructures were constructed,which could selectively detect formaldehyde at room temperature with a response value of 29.16%(10×10^(-6)).In addition,the sensor shows a remarkable theoretical detection limit of 5.09×10^(-9)and good longterm *** functional theory(DFT)simulations reveal that SnO_(2)nano spheres provide the majority of adsorption sites that strongly interact with ***,Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)acting as a conductive layer facilitates the transfer of charge carriers so that they show a sensing response to formaldehyde at room ***,the formation of p-n heterostructures between SnO_(2)and Ti_(3)C_(2)T_(x)boosts the Schottky barrier at the interface,which is the critical factor in enhancing the sensing properties by turning the Schottky barrier upon introducing formaldehyde *** perspective is expected to provide instructive guidance for utilizing MXene/metal oxide nanocomposites to improve the gas sensing performance at room temperature.

Understanding thermal transport at the submicron scale is crucial for engineering applications,especially in the thermal management of electronics and tailoring the thermal conductivity of thermoelectric *** the submicron scale,the macroscopic heat diffusion equation is no longer valid and the phonon Boltzmann transport equation(BTE)becomes the governing equation for thermal ***,previous thermal simulations based on the phonon BTE have two main limitations:relying on empirical parameters and prohibitive computational ***,the phonon BTE is commonly used for qualitatively studying the non-Fourier thermal transport phenomena of toy *** this work,we demonstrate an ultra-efficient and parameter-free computational method of the phonon BTE to achieve quantitatively accurate thermal simulation for realistic materials and *** properly integrating the phonon properties from first-principles calculations,our method does not rely on empirical material properties *** can be generally applicable for different materials and the predicted results can match well with experimental ***,by developing a suitable ensemble of advanced numerical algorithms,our method exhibits superior numerical *** full-scale(from ballistic to diffusive)thermal simulation of a 3-dimensional fin field-effect transistor with 13 million degrees of freedom,which is prohibitive for existing phonon BTE solvers even on supercomputers,can now be completed within two hours on a single personal *** method makes it possible to achieve the predictive design of realistic nanostructures for the desired thermal *** also enables accurately resolving the temperature profiles at the transistor level,which helps in better understanding the self-heating effect of electronics.
