Ubiquitination is emerging as a tight regulatory mechanism that is necessary for all aspects of development and survival of all eukaryotes. Recent genomic and genetic analysis in Arabidopsis suggests that ubiquitination may also play important roles in plant response to the phytohormone abscisic acid （ABA）. Many components of the ubiquitination pathway, such as ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2, ubiquitin ligase E3 and components of the proteasome, have been identified or predicted to be essential in ABA biosynthesis, catabolism and signaling. In addition, the ubiquitination-related pathway, sumoylation, is also involved in ABA signaling. We summarize in this report recent developments to elucidate their roles in the ABA-related pathway.

Preparation and visible-light photocatalytic property of nanostructured Fe-doped TiO_2 from titanium containing electric furnace molten slag

Nanostructured Fe-doped titanium dioxide was synthesized from titanium containing electric furnace molten slag （TCEFMS） by using an alkali fusion, followed by a hydrolyzation-acidolysis-cMcination route. The effects of Mkali/slag mass ratio, calcinating temperature, calcinating time, and water/slag mass ratio on the extraction efficiency and purity of products were systematically studied in this paper. It is indicated that the best extraction efficiency of nanostructured Fe- doped titanium dioxide is 99.35%, when the molten slag is calcinated at 700℃ for 1 h with the mass ratio of alkali/molten slag of 1.5：1. The influence of alkali/slag mass ratio on the photocatalytic activity of final products was evaluated by the photodegradation of methyl blue under visible light irradiation. A maximum photodegradation efficiency of 88.12% over 30 min was achieved under the optimum conditions.

Water toxicity determination with electrochemically active bacteria(EAB)shows promise for providing early warnings for heavy metal pollution in ***,thus far,only idealized tests with a few types of heavy metals have been *** this study,an automatic water-toxicitydetermination system with high technical maturity was established,and the toxicological properties of common heavy metals were systematically *** results demonstrated that the common heavy metals linearly inhibited EAB currents in the range of 0.1 mg/L to 0.5 mg/*** toxicity ranking of the tested heavy metals was Pb^(2+)>Tl^(3+)>Cu^(2+)>Cd^(2+)>Zn^(2+)>Ni^(2+)>Hg^(2+)>As^(3+).The toxicity interaction mainly exhibited an antagonistic effect in binary heavy metal *** system can accurately determine surface water toxicity and rapidly monitor heavy metal pollution,with good repeatability and a long ***,this study demonstrates that EAB are capable of long-term(>60 d)surface water quality monitoring and on-site early warning of heavy metal pollution.

Background and Objectives:Chronic kidney disease(CKD) is a growing public health problem with an urgent need for new pharmacological *** cicadae is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and has potential renoprotective *** current study aimed to determine any scientific evidence to support its clinical ***:We analyzed the potential of two kinds of *** extract,total extract(TE) and acetic ether extract(AE),in treating kidney disease simulated by a subtotal nephrectomy(SNx) ***-Dawley rats were divided randomly into seven groups:sham-operated group,vehicle-treated SNx,Cozaar,2 g/(kg·d) TE SNx,1 g/(kg·d) TE SNx,92 mg/(kg·d) AE SNx,and 46 mg/(kg·d) AE *** injury was monitored using urine and serum analyses,and hematoxylin and eosin(HE) and periodic acid-Schiff(PAS) stainings were used to analyze the level of *** expression of type IV collagen(Col IV),fibronectin(FN),transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) was detected by ***:Renal injury,reflected in urine and serum analyses,and pathological changes induced by SNx were attenuated by TE and AE *** depositions of Col IV and FN were also decreased by the treatments and were accompanied by reduced expression of TGF-β1 and *** some respects,2 g/(kg·d) of TE produced better effects than ***:For the first time,we have shown that *** may inhibit renal fibrosis in vivo through the TGF-β1/CTGF ***,we conclude that the use of *** could provide a rational strategy for combating renal fibrosis.

Cytoplasmic male sterility plays an important role in utilization of crop heterosis. Screening of soybean for novel genes related to male sterility in soybean could provide a basis for studying the molecular mechanism of male sterility in plants. In this study, gene differential expressions between the cytoplasmic male-sterile line NJCMS 1A and its maintainer line NJCMS 1B in soybean were analyzed using cDNA-AFLP. A differentially expressed fragment, GmMF-T4A15, was isolated from large flower buds of NJCMS1B. By searching the soybean genomic library and PCR amplification, the cDNA fulllength sequence of 1 311 bp was obtained and named GmMF1. The expression characteristics of GmMF1 were studied by semiquantitative real-time PCR and real-time quantitative PCR. The results showed that GmMF1 was expressed highly in flower buds of NJCMS1B. The deduced protein contains 436 amino acids and shows high similarity to members of the DUF620 protein family with unknown functions in other plant species. It is predicted that the protein encoded by GmMF1 is localized in the nucleus.

Dynamic Modeling and Analysis of 5‑PSS/UPU Parallel Mechanism with Elastically Active Branched Chains

To study the characteristics of the 5-prismatic–spherical–spherical(PSS)/universal–prismatic–universal(UPU)parallel mechanism with elastically active branched chains,the dynamics modeling and solutions of the parallel mechanism were ***,the active branched chains and screw sliders were considered as spatial beam elements and plane beam element models,respectively,and the dynamic equations of each element model were derived using the Lagrange ***,the equations of the 5-PSS/UPU parallel mechanism were obtained according to the kinematic coupling relationship between the active branched chains and moving ***,based on the parallel mechanism dynamic equations,the natural frequency distribution of the 5-PSS/UPU parallel mechanism in the working space and elastic displacement of the moving platform were *** results show that the natural frequency of the 5-PSS/UPU parallel mechanism under a given motion situation is greater than its operating *** maximum position error is -0.096 mm in direction Y,and the maximum orientation error is -0.29°around the *** study provides important information for analyzing the dynamic performance,dynamic optimization design,and dynamic control of the 5-PSS/UPU parallel mechanism with elastically active branched chains.

Effect of Hydrological Connectivity on Soil Carbon Storage in the Yellow River Delta Wetlands of China

Hydrological connectivity has significant effects on the functions of estuarine wetland *** study aimed to examine the dynamics of hydrological connectivity and its impact on soil carbon pool in the Yellow River Delta,*** calculated the hydrological connectivity based on the hydraulic resistance and graph theory,and measured soil total carbon and organic carbon under four different hydrological connectivity gradients(Ⅰ0‒0.03,Ⅱ0.03‒0.06,Ⅲ0.06‒0.12,Ⅳ0.12‒0.39).The results showed that hydrological connectivity increased in the north shore of the Yellow River and the south tidal flat from 2007 to 2018,which concentrated in the mainstream of the Yellow River and the tidal *** hydrological connectivity was maintained in the wetland restoration *** soil total carbon storage and organic carbon storage significantly increased with increasing hydrological connectivity fromⅠtoⅢgradient and decreased inⅣ*** highest soil total carbon storage of 0‒30 cm depth was 5172.34 g/m^(2),and organic carbon storage 2764.31 g/m^(2)inⅢ*** hydrological connectivity changed with temporal and spatial change during 2007‒2018 and had a noticeable impact on soil carbon storage in the Yellow River *** results indicated that appropriate hydrological connectivity,i.e.0.08,could effectively promote soil carbon storage.
