Relative exchangeable copper,a high-quality biomarker for differentiation of Traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome in Wilson's disease

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the value of relative exchangeable copper(REC)in diagnosing Wilson's disease(WD)and to determine its significance in the differentiation of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)***:A total of 78 patients with WD were recruited on the same day of the medical visit,and among them,32 were suffering from non-WD(N-WD)and 37 were heterozygous ATP7B carriers(hC)enrolled as *** genetic testing was performed for diagnosing WD and ***,REC levels in different TCM syndromes were *** correlation between REC and serum ceruloplasmin(Cp),serum copper oxidase(CO),and 24-h urinary copper was analyzed using the Global Assessment Scale and Unified Wilson's Disease Rating Scale and the significance of REC in WD diagnosis was ***-state functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to assess the clinical symptoms of WD and analyze its severity in different TCM ***:REC determination helped in significantly distinguishing patients with N-WD or hC from those with WD with a cut-off of 21.15%.Furthermore,the comparative analysis of REC ratios among different TCM syndromes showed markedly high REC levels in the dampness-heat internal accumulation syndrome ***,the seed-based functional connectivity value from the putamen to the cerebellum was significantly correlated with TCM ***:REC level is a high-quality biomarker for diagnosing WD that effectively reflects disease severity and plays an essential role in deciding on treatment strategies and ***,REC levels are closely related to TCM syndromes in WD;thus,it is a potential objective quantitative indicator for distinguishing TCM syndromes in WD.

Laboratory study of the formation of fullerene(from smaller to larger, C44 to C70)/anthracene cluster cations in the gas phase

The formation and evolution mechanism of fullerenes in the planetary nebula or in the interstellar medium are still not ***,we present the study on the cluster formation and the relative reactivity of fullerene cations(from smaller to larger,C44 to C70) with anthracene molecule(C14h10).The experiment is performed in an apparatus that combines a quadrupole ion trap with a time-of-flight mass *** using a 355 nm laser beam to irradiate the trapped fullerenes cations(C60+or C70+),smaller fullerene cations C(60-2 n)+, n=1-8 or C(70-2 m)+,m=1-11 are generated,*** reacting with anthracene molecules,series of fullerene/anthracene cluster cations are newly formed(e.g.,(C14h10)C(60-2 n)+,n=1-8 and(C14h10)C(70-2 m)+,m=1-11),and slight difference of the reactivity within the smaller fullerene cations are ***,smaller fullerenes show obviously higher reactivity when comparing to fullerene C60+ and C70+.A successive loss of C2 fragments mechanism is suggested to account for the formation of smaller fullerene cations,which then undergo addition reaction with anthracene molecules to form the fullerene-anthracene cluster *** is found that the higher laser energy and longer irradiation time are key factors that affect the formation of smaller fullerene *** may indicate that in the strong radiation field environment(such as photon-dominated regions) in space,fullerenes are expected to follow the top-down evolution route,and then form small grain dust(e.g.,clusters) through collision reaction with co-existing molecules,here,smaller PAhs.

Effects of h content on the tensile properties and fracture behavior of SA508-Ⅲsteel

SA508-Ⅲ steel was charged with different hydrogen(h) contents using a high-pressure thermal charging method to study the effects of h content on the tensile properties and evaluate the h embrittlement behavior of the steel. The results indicate that the ultimate tensile strength remains nearly unchanged with the addition of h. In contrast, the yielding strength slightly increases, and the elongation significantly decreases with increasing h content, especially at concentrations exceeding 5.6 × 10-6. On the basis of fractographic analysis, it is clear that the addition of h changes the fracture mode from microvoid coalescence to a mixture of river patterns and dimples. Carbides are strong traps for h; thus, the h atoms easily migrate in the form of Cottrell atmosphere toward the carbides following moving dislocations during tensile deformation. In addition, stress-induced h atoms accumulate at the interface between carbides and the matrix after necking under three-dimensional stress, which weakens the interfacial bonding force. Consequently, when the local h concentration reaches a critical value, microcracks occur at the interface, resulting in fracture.

Beneficial rhizobacterium provides positive plant–soil feedback effects to Ageratina adenophora

Rhizosphere microbial communities play important roles in facilitating or inhibiting the establishment of exotic *** some invasive plants interact with soil microbial communities such as rhizosphere bacteria,changes triggered by rhizosphere bacteria may alter competitive interactions between exotic and native *** study compared the Bacillus cereus content in soils with different degrees of Ageratina adenophora invasion,and investigated the effects of *** allelochemicals on *** growth and soil characteristics and the feedback effects of *** on *** *** cereus content in the rhizosphere of *** increased with intensification of the invasion process,and newly invaded soil contained almost twice as much bacteria as noninvaded *** rhizosphere soil was added to the root exudates of ***,the contents of *** were twice as much as the control,except on the first *** soil parameters increased significantly,such as ammonium nitrogen(Nh_(4)^(+)-N)and available phosphorus(AP),which were increased by 41 and 27%,*** treatment with *** promoted the degradation of two allelochemicals from the rhizosphere of ***,amorpha-4,7(11)-dien-8-one and 6-hydroxy-5-isopropy1-3,8-dimethyl-4 a,5,6,7,8,8 ahexahydraphthalen-2(1 h)-one,to varying degrees;and increased the germination rate by 50%,root length by 117%,shoot length by 48%and fresh weight by 81%for *** compared to those of untreated *** results confirmed that the invasion of *** will promote an increase of ***,a beneficial rhizosphere bacterium,which in turn induces a positive feedback effect on ***.

Selective oxidation mediated synthesis of unique SexTey nanotubes, their assembled thin films and photoconductivity

One-dimensional hollow nanostructures have potential applications in many fields and can be fabricated using various methods. herein, a selective-oxidation route for the synthesis of unique SexTey nanotubes （STNTs） with a controlled morphology using TexSey@Se core-shell nanowires （TSSNWs） as a template is reported. Because of the lower redox potential of TeO2/Te compared to that of h2SeO3/Se, the Te in TSSNWs can be preferentially oxidized by an appropriate oxidant of hNO2 to form STNTs. The inner diameters and wall thicknesses of the STNTs can be tuned by modulating the core diameters and shell thicknesses of the TSSNWs, respectively. The STNTs can be assembled into a monolayer composed of well-arranged nanotubes using the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. A device based on films stacked with 10 STNT monolayers was fabricated to investigate the photocoductivity of the STNTs. The STNTs exhibited a good photoresponse over the whole ultraviolet-visible spectrum, revealing their votential for application in ovtoelectronic devices.

Chloromethyl pivalate based electrolyte for non-aqueous lithium oxygen batteries

A novel electrolyte with chloromethyl pivalate （CP） used as solvent was first reported for non-aqueous lithium-oxygen （Li-O2） batteries. Since there are no α-h atoms in the structure of CP, the CP based electrolyte in both superoxide radical solution and real LifO2 battery environment showed good chemical stability against superoxide radicals, which was confirmed by ^1h NMR and ^13C NMR measurements. Without a catalyst in the cathode of Li-O2 batteries, the batteries showed high specific capacity and cycling stability.

Virtual reality training improves accommodative facility and accommodative range

AIM: To evaluate the effects of virtual reality(VR) training on different parameters of ***: Sixty individuals ranged 18-60 years old with asthenopia were randomly divided into short-term(n=40) and long-term(n=20) treatment groups. They were given a specially designed VR training device only once for 15 min or 3-4 times a day for 15 min each time for 1 mo. The visual acuity, spherical equivalent, accommodative range, accommodative facility, pupil size, and visual fatigue were evaluated before(control) and after VR training. RESULTS: The visual acuity, accommodative range, and accommodative facility increased in subjects of the shortterm treatment group, whereas their pupil size contracted significantly. No significant changes in spherical equivalent and visual fatigue were observed. The changes in distant vision and corrected visual acuity were positively correlated with those in pupil size, but not with spherical equivalent. The accommodative range and accommodative facility improved significantly in subjects of the long-term treatment group. No significant changes in visual acuity, spherical equivalent, pupil size, and visual fatigue were noted. CONCLUSION: VR training can improve the accommodative range and accommodative facility of human eyes. Although short-term VR training can transiently improve vision, which probably due to bright light adaptation, there is no evidence that it can improve myopia.

As an important component of the tumor microenvironment,cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs)secrete energy metabolites to supply energy for tumor *** regulation of long noncoding RNAs(lncRNAs)is thought to contribute to glucose metabolism,but the role of lncRNAs in glycolysis in oral CAFs has not been systematically *** the present study,by using RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analysis,we analyzed the lncRNA/mRNA profiles of normal fibroblasts(NFs)derived from normal tissues and CAFs derived from patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).LncRNA h19 was identified as a key lncRNA in oral CAFs and was synchronously upregulated in both oral cancer cell lines and *** small interfering RNA(siRNA)strategies,we determined that lncRNA h19 knockdown affected proliferation,migration,and glycolysis in oral *** found that knockdown of lncRNA h19 by siRNA suppressed the MAPK signaling pathway,6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 3(PFKFB3)and ***,the lncRNA h19/miR-675-5p/PFKFB3 axis was involved in promoting the glycolysis pathway in oral CAFs,as demonstrated by a luciferase reporter system assay and treatment with a miRNA-specific *** study presents a new way to understand glucose metabolism in oral CAFs,theoretically providing a novel biomarker for OSCC molecular diagnosis and a new target for antitumor therapy.

Susceptibility and tissue specificity of Spodoptera frugiperda to Junonia coenia densovirus
