Effect of particle composition and consolidation degree on the wave-induced liquefaction of soil beds

The wave-induced liquefaction of seabed is responsible for causing damage to marine *** composition and consolidation degree are the key factors affecting the pore water pressure response and liquefaction behavior of the seabed under wave *** present study conducted wave flume experiments on silt and silty fine sand beds with varying particle ***,a comprehensive analysis of the differences and underlying reasons for liquefaction behavior in two different types of soil was conducted from both macroscopic and microscopic *** experimental results indicate that the silt bed necessitates a lower wave load intensity to attain the liquefaction state in comparison to the silty fine sand ***,the duration and development depth of liquefaction are greater in the silt *** dissimilarity in liquefaction behavior between the two types of soil can be attributed to the variation in their permeability and plastic deformation *** permeability coefficient and compression modulus of silt are lower than those of silty fine ***,silt is more prone to the accumulation of pore pressure and subsequent liquefaction under external *** research has demonstrated that silt beds with varying consolidation degrees exhibit distinct initial failure ***,a dense bed undergoes shear failure,whereas a loose bed experiences initial liquefaction *** study utilized discrete element simulation to examine the microscopic mechanisms that underlie this phenomenon.

Differential metabolite analysis of the pharmacodynamic differences between different ratios of Dahuang(Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Palmati)-Taoren(Semen Persicae) herb pair

OBJECTIVE: To explore the material basis of the difference of efficacy of Dahuang(Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Palmati)-Taoren(Semen Persicae)(DT) drugs with different proportions. METHODS: Samples of different ratios of Dahuang(Radix et Rhizoma Rhei Palnati, DH) to Taoren(Semen Persicae, TR)(Group A 1∶1, B 2∶3, C 3∶2) were analyzed based on gas chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry untargeted metabolomics technique. RESuLTS: A total of 240 primary metabolites were detected. Forty-one differential metabolites involved nine differential metabolic pathways, of which four were closely related to the efficacy of DT in the treatment of heat and blood stasis syndrome. These pathways included the biosynthesis of amino acid(phenylalanine tyrosine and tryptophan), flavonoids, unsaturated fatty acids, and the glycolysis/glycogenesis pathway. CONCLuSION: There are significant differences in the efficacy of different ratios of DT drugs, and their optimal ratio for the treatment of heat and blood stasis syndrome should be 1∶1.

Mo-doped one-dimensional needle-like Ni_(3)S_(2) as bifunctional electrocatalyst for efficient alkaline hydrogen evolution and overall-water-splitting

Hydrogen energy plays an important role in clean energy system and is considered the core energy source for future technological development owing to its lightweight nature,high calorific value,and clean combustion *** electrocatalytic conversion of water into hydrogen is considered a highly promising *** electrocatalyst is indispensable in the electrocatalytic process,and finding an efficient electrocatalyst is ***,the current commercial electrocatalysts(such as Pt/C and Ru)are expensive;therefore,there is a need to find an inexpensive and efficient electrocatalyst with high stability,corrosion resistance,and high electrocatalytic *** this study,we developed a cost-effective bifunctional electrocatalyst by incorporating molybdenum into nickel sulfide(Ni_(3)S_(2))and subsequently tailoring its structure to achieve a one-dimensional(1D)needle-like *** hydrogen production efficiency of nickel sulfide was improved by changing the ratio of Mo *** analyzing the electrochemical performance of different Mo-doped catalysts,we found that the Ni_(3)S_(2)-Mo-0.1 electrocatalyst exhibited the best electrocatalytic effect in 1 M KOH;at a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2),it exhibited overpotentials of 120 and 279 mV for hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER),respectively;at a higher current density of 100 mA cm^(-2),the HER and OER overpotentials were 396 and 495 mV,***,this electrocatalyst can be used in a two-electrode water-splitting ***,we thoroughly investigated the mechanism of the overall water splitting of this electrocatalyst,providing valuable insights for future hydrogen production via overall-water-splitting.

Efficacy and safety of low-dose cyclophosphamide combined with lenvatinib, pembrolizumab and TACE for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma:A single-center, prospective,single-arm clinical trial

Objective: unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(uHCC) continues to pose effective treatment options. The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of combining low-dose cyclophosphamide with lenvatinib, pembrolizumab and transarterial chemoembolization(TACE) for the treatment of ***: From February 2022 to November 2023, a total of 40 patients diagnosed with uHCC were enrolled in this small-dose, single-center, single-arm, prospective study. They received a combined treatment of low-dose cyclophosphamide with lenvatinib, pembrolizumab, and TACE. Study endpoints included progression-free survival(PFS), objective response rate(ORR), and safety assessment. Tumor response was assessed using the modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors(mRECIST), while survival analysis was conducted through KaplanMeier curve analysis for overall survival(OS) and PFS. Adverse events(AEs) were evaluated according to the National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events(version 5.0).Results: A total of 34 patients were included in the study. The median follow-up duration was 11.2 [95% confidence interval(95% CI), 5.3-14.6] months, and the median PFS(mPFS) was 15.5(95% CI, 5.4-NA) *** OS(mOS) was not attained during the study period. The ORR was 55.9%, and the disease control rate(DCR) was 70.6%. AEs were reported in 27(79.4%) patients. The most frequently reported AEs(with an incidence rate >10%) included abnormal liver function(52.9%), abdominal pain(44.1%), abdominal distension and constipation(29.4%), hypertension(20.6%), leukopenia(17.6%), constipation(17.6%), ascites(14.7%), and insomnia(14.7%). Abnormal liver function(14.7%) had the most common grade 3 or higher ***: A combination of low-dose cyclophosphamide with lenvatinib, pembrolizumab, and TACE is safe and effective for u HCC, showcasing a promising therapeutic strategy for managing uHCC.

In this study, we employed a linear inverse model with Markov Chain Monte Carlo(LIM-MCMC) combined with ecological network analysis to reveal the temporal variations of the food web in Haizhou Bay of China. Polaron interfacial entropy as a route to high thermoelectric performance in DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS films

Enhancing the thermoelectric transport properties of conductive polymer materials has been a long-term challenge, in spite of the success seen with molecular doping strategies. However, the strong coupling between the thermopower and the electrical conductivity limits thermoelectric performance. Here, we use polaron interfacial occupied entropy engineering to break through this intercoupling for a PEDOT:PSS(poly（3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene）-poly（4-styrenesulfonate）) thin film by using photochromic diarylethene（DAE） dopants coupled with uV-light modulation. With a 10-fold enhancement of the thermopower from 13.5 μV K-1to 135.4 μV K-1and almost unchanged electrical conductivity, the DAE-doped PEDOT:PSS thin film achieved an extremely high power factor of 521.28 μW m-1K-2from an original value of 6.78 μW m-1K-2. The thermopower was positively correlated with the uV-light intensity but decreased with increasing temperature, indicating resonant coupling between the planar closed DAE molecule and PEDOT. Both the experiments and theoretical calculations consistently confirmed the formation of an interface state due to this resonant coupling. Interfacial entropy engineering of polarons could play a critical role in enhancing the thermoelectric performance of the organic film.
