Screening of a Composite Microbial System and Its Characteristics of Wheat Straw Degradation

To accelerate the decomposition of wheat straw directly returned to soil, we constructed a microbial system （ADS-3） from agricultural soil containing rotting straw residues using a 40-wk limited cultivation. To assess its potential use for accelerating straw decomposing, the decomposing characteristics and the microbial composition of ADS-3 were analyzed. The results indicated that it could degrade wheat straw and filter paper by 63.8 and 80%, respectively, during 15 d of incubation. Straw hemicellulose degraded dramatically 51.2% during the first 3 d, decreasing up to 73.7% by the end of incubation. Cellulose showed sustained degradation reaching 53.3% in 15 d. Peak values of xylanase and cellulase activities appeared at 3 and 11 d, with 1.32 and 0.15 U mL-1, respectively. Estimated pH averaged 6.4-7.6 during the degradation process, which approximated acidity and alkalinity of normal soils. The microbial composition of ADS-3 was stable based on denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis （DGGE） analysis. By using bacterial 16S rRNA and fungal 26S rRNA gene clone library analysis, 20 bacterial clones and 7 fungal clones were detected. Closest identified relatives of bacteria represented by Bacillus fusiformis, Cytophaga sp., uncultured Clostridiales bacterium, Ruminobacillus xylanolyticum, Clostridium hydroxybenzoicum, and uncultured proteobacterium and the fungi were mainly identified as related to Pichia sp. and uncultured fungus.

Developing organic room-temperature phosphorescence （RTP） materials with a wide range of tunable-emission is significant in expanding the applications of RTP ***,we rationally designed amphiphilic alternating copolymers poly(1,2-bis（4-alkoxyphenyl）ethane-1,2-dione-alt-（ethylene glycol）x)(P（Bz-alt-EGx）) that combined the advantage of alternating benzil and EGxskeleton,and tunable mainchain *** a mainchain conformation ordering assembly （COA） process,P（Bz-alt-EGx） self-assembled into well-defined platelets,and such assemblies emitted blue RTP at ca.425 nm due to the ordered folded-chain conformation and confined *** contrast,traditional self-assembly （TA） of P（Bz-alt-EGx） obtained less ordered aggregates,such as asymmetric worms,vesicles,and rod-like *** resultant less ordered aggregates exhibited yellow-green RTP at ca.550 *** wide-tuning RTP emission in solution （between blue and yellow-green,over125 nm） is realized using the P（Bz-alt-EGx） alternating copolymers under the treatment of different self-assembly *** study uncovers a new strategy to tailor the RTP emission through different self-assembly pathways and holds great promise for the fabrication of advanced optical materials.

The three-dimensional electronic structure and the nature of Ce 4f electrons of the Kondo insulator CeRu_(4)Sn_(6)are investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy,utilizing tunable photon *** results reveal(i)the three-dimensional k-space nature of the Fermi surface,(ii)the localized-to-itinerant transition of f electrons occurs at a much high temperature than the hybridization gap opening temperature,and(iii)the“relocalization”of itinerant f-electrons below 25 K,which could be the precursor to the establishment of magnetic order.

To improve the nutritional value and the palatability of air-dried rice straw, culture broth of the lactic acid bacteria community SFC-2 was used to examine the effects of two different treatments, fermentation and adsorption. Air-dried and chopped rice straw was treated with either fermentation for 30 d after adding 1.5 L nutrient solution（50 m L inocula L–1, 1.2×1012 CFU m L–1 inocula） kg–1 straw dry matter, or spraying a large amount of culture broth（1.5 L kg–1 straw dry matter, 1.5×1011 CFU m L–1 culture broth） on the straw and allowing it to adsorb for 30 min. The feed quality and aerobic stability of the resulting forage were examined. Both treatments improved the feed quality of rice straw, and adsorption was better than fermentation for preserving nutrients and improving digestibility, as evidenced by higher dry matter（DM） and crude protein（CP） concentrations, lower neutral detergent fiber（NDF）, acid detergent fiber（ADF） and NH3-N concentrations, as well as higher lactic acid production and in vitro digestibility of DM（IVDMD）. The aerobic stability of the adsorbed straw and the fermented straw was 392 and 480 h, respectively. After being exposed to air, chemical components and microbial community of the fermented straw were more stable than the adsorbed straw.

文章采用组织切片、生化组分分析以及实时荧光定量PCR等方法,研究了大鳞副泥鳅(Paramisgurnus dabryanus)、泥鳅(Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)和北方泥鳅(Misgurnus bipartitus)肉质差异。结果显示:大鳞副泥鳅、泥鳅和北方泥鳅的肌纤维横截面积分别为(3589.17±2326.01)、(2809.7±1818.69)和(2511.93±1949.03)μm2。粗蛋白和粗脂肪含量均是大鳞副泥鳅最高[分别为(17.07±0.31)%和(2.57±0.38)%],依次为泥鳅[分别为(14.57±0.59)%和(1.37±0.12)%]和北方泥鳅[分别为(12.33±0.15%和0.57±0.06%]。必需氨基酸指数(EAAI)依次为泥鳅(74.38)、大鳞副泥鳅(65.11)和北方泥鳅(60.14);呈味氨基酸含量依次为泥鳅(32.60±1.64)%、大鳞副泥鳅(27.75±2.13)%和北方泥鳅(24.86±1.00)%;除亚油酸以外的总多不饱和脂肪酸含量依次为北方泥鳅(24.43±0.26)%、泥鳅(24.18±1.99)%和大鳞副泥鳅(7.86±0.24)%。大鳞副泥鳅的肌肉生长相关基因myod的表达量高,myog和mrf4的表达量低;泥鳅和北方泥鳅的myog和mrf4的表达量高,myod的表达量低。elovl5等8个脂肪代谢相关基因的表达特征:大鳞副泥鳅整体表达水平最高,北方泥鳅次之,泥鳅最低。结果表明,大鳞副泥鳅肉质油润,但是质地相对粗糙;泥鳅营养价值高且鲜味程度高;北方泥鳅肉质细嫩,但是氨基酸营养价值不高,鲜味程度较差。三种鳅的上述肉质差异可能与肌肉生长和脂肪代谢活动不同有关。

Tungsten and its oxides are highly versatile catalysts with unique properties that hold great promise for a wide array of applications,including biological pathways and chemical *** chemo-catalysis of cellulose to ethanol presents a promising avenue for ethanol synthesis with the potential for enhanced efficiency compared to conventional methods,offering a sustainable and carbon-neutral alternative to existing petrochemical and biological ***,Ir/WOxcatalysts enriched with oxygen vacancies were meticulously prepared and demonstrated remarkable catalytic performance in converting cellulose to ethanol directly in the presence of tungstic *** catalyst achieved a high ethanol yield of 66.5%under optimal reaction conditions,approaching the theoretical yield limit of traditional ethanol *** results revealed the presence of oxygen defects,Bronsted/Lewis acidity,and Ir nanoclusters on the catalyst surface,working synergistically to facilitate the cascade catalysis of cellulose hydrolysis,sugar retro-aldol condensation reaction,and C2 intermediate hydrodeoxygenation to *** situ Fourier transform infrared spectrometer analysis confirmed the catalyst's ability to enhance the adsorption and activation of ethylene glycol for ethanol *** manipulating subtle structural features,this study offers a fresh perspective on tungsten group catalyst design and underscores the importance of synergistic effects among catalytic sites for the efficient production of ethanol from cellulose.

Posterior Reduction and Monosegmental Fusion with Intraoperative Three-dimensional Navigation System in the Treatment of High-grade Developmental Spondylolisthesis

Background： The treatment of high-grade developmental spondylolisthesis （HGDS） is still challenging and controversial. In this study, we investigated the efficacy of the posterior reduction and monosegmental fusion assisted by intraoperative three-dimensional （3D） navigation system in managing the HGDS. Methods： Thirteen consecutive HGDS patients were treated with posterior decompression, reduction and monosegmental fusion ofL5/S1, assisted by intraoperative 3D navigation system. The clinical and radiographic outcomes were evaluated, with a minimum follow-up of 2 years. The differences between the pre- and post-operative measures were statistically analyzed using a two-tailed, paired t-test. Results： At most recent follow-up, 12 patients were pain-free. Only l patient had moderate pain, There were no permanent neurological complications or pseudarthrosis. The magnetic resonance imaging showed that there was no obvious disc degeneration in the adjacent segment. All radiographic parameters were improved. Mean slippage improved from 63.2% before surgery to 12.2% after surgery and 11.0% at latest follow-up. Lumbar lordosis changed from preoperative 34.9 ± 13.3° to postoperative 50.4 ±9.9°, and 49.3 ± 7.8° at last follow-up. L5 incidence improved from 71.0 ± 11.3° to 54.0 ± 1 1.9° and did not change significantly at the last follow-up 53.±1 15.4°. While pelvic incidence remained unchanged, sacral slip significantly decreased from preoperative 32.7± 12.5° to postoperative 42.6 ± 9.8°and remained constant to the last follow-up 44.4 ± 6.9°. Pelvic tilt significantly decreased from 38.4±12.5° to 30.9± 8.1° and remained unchanged at the last fbllow-up 28.1± 11.2°. Conclusions： Posterior reduction and monosegmental fusion of L5/S1 assisted by intraoperative 3D navigation are an effective technique for managing high-grade dysplastic spondylolisthesis. A complete reduction of local deformity and excellent correction of overall sagittal balance can be achieved.

Photoactive complexes of nonprecious transition metals, mainly including those in the first-row and partially the second-row of the Periodic table of elements, have received increasing attention in view of their low cost and long-term sustainability. They are recognized as promising alternatives to noble transition metal complex congeners that have been extensively studied in optoelectronic devices, artificial photosynthesis, photocatalysis, biodiagnostics, and therapeutics, etc. This review is devoted to a comprehensive summary on the classical and recent advances on photoactive nonprecious transition metal complexes, including photoactive Zr, V, Cr, Mo, and W complexes, Mn complexes and hybrids, Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu complexes, and Zn and Cd complexes and hybrids. A particular focus is given on the molecular design, modulation of photophysical and photochemical properties, and applications of the representative and lately-developed nonprecious metal complexes. In addition, a perspective on the future development in this field is provided at the end of this review.
