Risk Factors and Predictive Nomogram for Survival in Elderly Patients with Brain Glioma

Mesoscopic fracture damage evolution and fractal damage constitutive model of heat-treated red sandstone under direct tensile impact loadings

Understanding the mesoscopic tensile fracture damage of rock is the basis of evaluating the deterioration process of mechanical properties of heat-damaged rock. For this, tensile tests of rocks under high-temperature treatment were conducted with a ϕ75 mm split Hopkinson tension bar (SHTB) to investigate the mesoscopic fracture and damage properties of rock. An improved scanning electron microscopy (SEM) experimental method was used to analyze the tensile fracture surfaces of rock samples. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed to assess evolution of mesoscopic damage of heat-damaged rock under tensile loading. A constitutive model describing the mesoscopic fractal damage under thermo-mechanical coupling was established. The results showed that the high temperatures significantly reduced the tensile strength and fracture surface roughness of the red sandstone. The three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction of the fracture surface of the samples that experienced tensile failure at 900 °C showed a flat surface. The standard deviation of elevation and slope angle of specimen fracture surface first increased and then decreased with increasing temperature. The threshold for brittle fracture of the heat-damaged red sandstone specimens was 600 °C. Beyond this threshold temperature, local ductile fracture occurred, resulting in plastic deformation of the fracture surface during tensile fracturing. With increase of temperature, the internal meso-structure of samples was strengthened slightly at first and then deteriorated gradually, which was consistent with the change of macroscopic mechanical properties of red sandstone. The mesoscopic characteristics, such as the number, mean side length, maximum area, porosity, and fractal dimension of crack, exhibited an initial decline, followed by a gradual increase. Realization of robust Ohmic contact for semiconducting black arsenic by coupling with graphene

Ohmic contacts are fundamental components in semiconductor technology,facilitating efficient electrical connection and excellent device *** employ first-principles calculations to show that semimetallic graphene is a natural Ohmic contact partner of monolayer semiconducting black arsenic(BAs),for which the top of the valence band is below the Fermi energy of the order of 10~2 *** Ohmic contact arises from the giant Stark effect induced by van der Waals electron transfer from BAs to graphene,which does not destroy their respective band ***,we show that this intrinsic Ohmic contact remains robust across a wide range of interlayer distances(adjustable by strain)or vertical electric fields,whereas the weak spin splitting of the order of 1 meV induced by symmetry breaking plays little part in Ohmic *** findings reveal the potential applications of graphene–BAs in ultralow dissipation transistors.

A self-adaptive inorganic in-situ separator by particle crosslinking for nonflammable lithium-ion batteries

All-safe liquid-state lithium-ion batteries(ASLS-LIBs) is of great interest as they can potentially combine the safety of all-solid-state batteries with the high performance and low manufacturing cost of traditional liquid-state LIBs. However, the practical success of ASLS-LIBs is bottlenecked by the lack of advanced separator technology that can simultaneously realize high performances in puncturing-tolerability,fire-resistance, and importantly, wetting-capability with non-flammable liquid-electrolytes. Here, we propose a concept of inorganic in-situ separator(IISS) by hybrid-sol physical crosslinking directly onto the electrode surface to address the above challenges. Particularly, the hybrid-sol is designed with silica nanoparticles as the building block and poly(vinylidene difluoride) nanoparticles as the crosslinking agent. The critical factors for controlling the IISS microstructures and properties have been systematically investigated. The advantages of the IISS have been confirmed by its fast wetting with various fireresistant liquid-electrolytes, customizable thickness and porous structures, robust interface with planar or three-dimensional(3D)-structured electrodes, and importantly, unexpected self-adaptability against puncturing. Enabled by the above merits, a fire-resistant ASLS-LIB is successfully assembled and demonstrated with stable electrochemical performance. This sol-crosslinked IISS may open an avenue for the studies on the next-generation separator technology, cell assembling, solid electrolyte processing as well as non-flammable secondary batteries.

Dimensional-noise-aware battery lifetime prediction via an EM-TLS framework

Machine learning has been massively utilized to construct data-driven solutions for predicting the lifetime of rechargeable batteries in recent years, which project the physical measurements obtained during the early charging/discharging cycles to the remaining useful lifetime. While most existing techniques train the prediction model through minimizing the prediction error only, the errors associated with the physical measurements can also induce negative impact to the prediction accuracy. Although total-least-squares(TLS) regression has been applied to address this issue, it relies on the unrealistic assumption that the distributions of measurement errors on all input variables are equivalent, and cannot appropriately capture the practical characteristics of battery degradation. In order to tackle this challenge, this work intends to model the variations along different input dimensions, thereby improving the accuracy and robustness of battery lifetime prediction. In specific, we propose an innovative EM-TLS framework that enhances the TLS-based prediction to accommodate dimension-variate errors, while simultaneously investigating the distributions of them using expectation-maximization(EM). Experiments have been conducted to validate the proposed method based on the data of commercial Lithium-Ion batteries, where it reduces the prediction error by up to 29.9 % compared with conventional TLS. This demonstrates the immense potential of the proposed method for advancing the R&D of rechargeable batteries.

婴幼儿配方乳粉作为婴幼儿的重要口粮,其质量安全直接关系到婴幼儿的健康成长和生命安全。氯丙醇酯、高氯酸盐和氯酸盐(简称“三氯”)由于对婴幼儿的生长发育存在危害,在婴幼儿配方乳粉产品配方注册过程中已成为重点关注的项目。通过严格配方注册审评要求,督促企业落实风险防控措施,近三年来婴幼儿配方乳粉中“三氯”的风险防控取得了明显成效。本文结合近年来的注册审评工作及调查研究结果,综述了婴幼儿配方乳粉中“三氯”的主要危害、污染来源、限量标准及检测方法,系统分析了原料供应商、生产企业等对“三氯”的防控现状,结合目前的注册审评要求,就如何进一步降低“三氯”的污染风险提出意见建议,为婴幼儿配方乳粉的风险防控工作提供技术支撑,也为生产企业进一步提升质量管理水平提供参考。
