Studies on the integration of cross-modal information with taste perception has been mostly limited to uni-modal *** cross-modal sensory interaction and the neural network of information processing and its control were not fully explored and the mechanisms remain poorly *** mini review investigated the impact of uni-modal and multi-modal information on the taste perception,from the perspective of cognitive status,such as emotion,expectation and attention,and discussed the hypothesis that the cognitive status is the key step for visual sense to exert influence on *** work may help researchers better understand the mechanism of cross-modal information processing and further develop neutrally-based artificial intelligent(AI)system.

Microstructures and properties of Nb-Si-based alloys with B addition

The Nb-16Si-18Ti-xB(at%,similarly hereinafter,x=0,1,2,3)alloys were prepared by arc melting in a water-cooled copper *** influences of B addition on their microstructures and properties were based on the data of X-ray diffraction(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),and electronic universal material testing *** is found that the addition of B promotes the formation ofα-Nb5Si3phase and suppresses the formation of Nb3Si phase.B addition also tends Nb-16Si-18Ti alloy to form the hypereutectic *** content of silicide phases shows a trend of firstly decreasing and then increasing in Nb-16Si-18Ti-xB(x=0,1,2,3)*** size of Nb solid solution(Nbss)phase increases in Nb-16Si-18Ti-xB(x=0,1,2,3)alloys after heat treatment at 1523 K for 10 *** room temperature compression strength of Nb-16Si-18Ti alloy increases firstly and then decreases with B *** high-temperature compression strength of Nb-16Si-18Ti alloy decreases firstly and then increases with B *** is found that the volume and size of silicide phases have a synergistic effect on the compression strength of Nb-TiSi-based alloys.

Puncture Phenomena and Mechanism Analysis of a RTV Coated Cap and Pin Insulators in a Steep-front Impulse Voltage Test

In recent years,more than 6 million room temperature vulcanized(RTV)silicone rubber coated cap and pin insulators with high mechanical ratings were used in ultra-high voltage transmission lines in China to improve pollution ***,the unexpected puncture phenomena of RTV coated insulators were exposed during steep-front impulse voltage tests;for instance,the steep-front impulse voltage test pass rate decreased to less than 50% for 550 kN glass insulators with RTV *** steep-front impulse voltage test is the most effective method used to check the insulation quality of cap and pin insulators・This unexpected phenomenon once caused serious concerns to power *** this paper,several possible factors that affect the puncture of insulators were ***,the extent of the decline in the breakdown of the 550 kN glass cap and pin insulators with and without RTV coatings were *** initial puncture location was then found,and the developmental process of the arc on the insulator surface in steep-front impulse voltage tests was observed with an ultra-high-speed intensified charge coupled device ***,a breakdown mechanism is *** puncture phenomena of a RTV coated insulator in a steep-front impulse voltage test is essentially an electrical breakdown of the internal insulation・The RTV coating induces the close adherence of the arc to the surface of the *** closeness changes the arc development path on the insulator surface and facilitates easy breakdown in the shed weak *** these factors result in a significant increase in the breakdown probability of RTV coated insulators in steepfront impulse voltage tests.

Effect of Ti Addition on the Microstructure and Property of FeAlCuCrNiMo0.6 High-Entropy Alloy

FeAlCuCrNiMo0.6Tix(x=0.2,0.6,0.8) high-entropy alloys were fabricated with flux-cored wire and surfaced on low-carbon steel by gas metal arc *** effect of Ti addition on the microstructures and properties of FeAlCuCrNiMo0.6Tix HEAs surfacing layer was systematically *** results show that FeAlCuCrNiMo0.6Tix HEAs surfacing layer exhibits a majority of BCC solid solution based on Fe-Cr phase and a small amount of MC *** and wear tests results show that the addition of Ti can significantly improve the microhardness and wear resistance of the surfacing *** microhardness of surfacing layer can reach up to 642 HV0.5,which is about 2.8 times that of the ***,the wear mass loss is *** corrosion test results show that the addition of Ti can improve the corrosion resistance of surfacing layer,which is better than 304 stainless steel *** the increase in Ti,the corrosion resistance increases first and then *** the Ti content is 0.6,the self-corrosion current density of polarization curve is the smallest,the capacitive impedance radius of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is the largest,and the corrosion resistance effect is the best.

Two medium-entropy alloys,NbZrTi and NbHfZrTi,were prepared by arc *** NbZrTi and NbHfZrTi alloys are composed of simple body-centered cubic(bcc)solid solution phase and exhibit dendritic *** being homogenized,both NbZrTi and NbHfZrTi alloys are still composed of the single bcc solid solution phase,but the microstructure of the two alloys transforms from the dendritic structure into the polycrystalline *** alloys display significantly workhardening effect during compression at room temperature and show relatively good deformation plasticity during compressive deformation at room *** NbZrTi and NbHfZrTi alloys,the dynamic recrystallized grains form along the boundary during compression at the temperatures of 1073 and 1273 K.

Effect of Nickel on Formation Mechanisms of Silico-ferrite of Calcium and Aluminum(SFCA)

Under the pressures of both the de＇crease of high-grade high quality iron ore resources and the increase of raw material costs, the iron and steel enter＇prises in China turn to adopt iron ores which contain special elements such as nickel, manganese, etc. in the sintering blend. Anaiytica｜ reagents were used for sintering experiments, and the sinters were analyzed with X-ray diffraction, s6ailning electron microscopy and mineralogical microscopy to study the effect of nickel on the silico ferrite of calcium and aluminum （SF（＇A） bonding phase formation during sinte- ring. The results indicated that SFCA was divided into nickel containing and nickel-free areas due to the presence of nickel. The increasing content of nickel would greatly reduce the content of SFCA and promote the formation of calcium aluminum silicate. A great deal of Fe2 Oa participated in the crystal transition to Fe3 O3 , reducing the a mount of Fe2O2 involved in the formation of calcium ferrite. When the blending ratio of NiO, which is used to provide the nickel in the sintering process, is less than 3 % , the calcium ferrite is in substantially interleaving cot rosion with hematite and magnetite. Both the porosity and silicate glass phase content are low, which contributes to the sintering production.

Fiducial generalized p-values for testing zero-variance components in linear mixed-effects models

Linear mixed-effects models are widely used in analysis of longitudinal data. However, testing for zero-variance components of random effects has not been well-resolved in statistical literature, although some likelihood-based procedures have been proposed and studied. In this article, we propose a generalized p-value based method in coupling with fiducial inference to tackle this problem. The proposed method is also applied to test linearity of the nonparametric functions in additive models. We provide theoretical justifications and develop an implementation algorithm for the proposed method. We evaluate its finite-sample performance and compare it with that of the restricted likelihood ratio test via simulation experiments. We illustrate the proposed approach using an application from a nutritional study.

Fractal Dimensions of Fractional Integral of Continuous Functions

In this paper, we mainly explore fractal dimensions of fractional calculus of continuous functions defined on closed intervals. Riemann-Liouville integral of a continuous function f（x） of order v（v 〉 0） which is written as D-Vf（x） has been proved to still be continuous and bounded. Furthermore, upper box dimension of D-v f（x） is no more than 2 and lower box dimension of D-v f（x） is no less than 1. If f（x） is a Lipshciz function, D-v f（x） also is a Lipshciz function. While f（x） is differentiable on [0, 1], D-v f（x） is differentiable on [0, 1] too. With definition of upper box dimension and further calculation, we get upper bound of upper box dimension of Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of any continuous functions including fractal functions. If a continuous function f（x） satisfying HSlder condition, upper box dimension of Riemann-Liouville fractional integral of f（x） seems no more than upper box dimension of f（x）. Appeal to auxiliary functions, we have proved an important conclusion that upper box dimension of Riemann-Liouville integral of a continuous function satisfying HSlder condition of order v（v 〉 0） is strictly less than 2 - v. Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative of certain continuous functions have been discussed elementary. Fractional dimensions of Weyl-Marchaud fractional derivative of certain continuous functions have been estimated.
