Effects of higher femoral tunnels on clinical outcomes,MRI,and second-look findings in double-bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with a minimal 5-year follow-up

Background:To perform anatomical anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction(ACLR),tunnels should be placed relatively higher in the femoral anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)footprint based on the findings of direct and indirect femoral insertion.But the clinical results of higher femoral tunnels(HFT)in double-bundle ACLR(DB-ACLR)remain unclear.The purpose was to investigate the clinical results of HFT and lower femoral tunnels(LFT)in DB-ACLR.Methods:From September 2014 to February 2016,83 patients who underwent DB-ACLR and met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were divided into HFT-ACLR(group 1,n=37)and LFT-ACLR(group 2,n=46)according to the position of femoral tunnels.Preoperatively and at the final follow-up,clinical scores were evaluated with International Knee Documentation Committee(IKDC),Tegner activity,and Lysholm score.The stability of the knee was evaluated with KT-2000,Lachman test,and pivot-shift test.Cartilage degeneration grades of the International Cartilage Repair Society(ICRS)were evaluated on magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).Graft tension,continuity,and synovialization were evaluated by second-look arthroscopy.Return-to-sports was assessed at the final follow-up.Results:Significantly better improvement were found for KT-2000,Lachman test,and pivot-shift test postoperatively in group 1(P>0.05).Posterolateral bundles(PL)showed significantly better results in second-look arthroscopy regarding graft tension,continuity,and synovialization(P0.05).No statistically significant differences were found in IKDC subjective score,Tegner activity,and Lysholm score between the two groups.Higher return-to-sports rate was found in group 1 with 86.8%(32/37)vs.65.2%(30/46)in group 2(P=0.027).Conclusion:The HFT-ACLR group showed better stability results,better PL,and higher return-to-sports rate compared to the LFT-ACLR group.

Prostate cancer(PCa)is one of the most common malignancies in males worldwide,and its development and progression involve the regulation of multiple metabolic pathways.Alterations in lipid metabolism affect the proliferation and metastatic capabilities of PCa cells.Cancer cells increase lipid synthesis and regulate fatty acid oxidation to meet their growth and energy demands.Similarly,changes occur in amino acid metabolism in PCa.Cancer cells exhibit an increased demand for specific amino acids,and they regulate amino acid transport and metabolic pathways to fulfill their proliferation and survival requirements.These changes are closely associated with disease progression and treatment response in PCa cells.Therefore,a comprehensive investigation of the metabolic characteristics of PCa is expected to offer novel insights and approaches for the early diagnosis and treatment of this disease.

In this paper,a composite pressure-sensitive mechanism combining diaphragm bending and volume compression was developed for resonant pressure microsensors to achieve high-pressure measurements with excellent accuracy.The composite mechanism was explained,and the sensor structure was designed based on theoretical analysis and finite element simulation.An all-silicon resonant high-pressure microsensor with multiple miniaturized cavities and dual resonators was developed,where dual resonators positioned in two resonant cavities with suitably different widths are used to perform opposite characteristics in pressure and the same characteristics at different temperatures,which can improve pressure sensitivities and realize temperature self-compensation by differential frequency output.The microsensor was fabricated by microfabrication,and the experimental results showed that the sensor had an accuracy of±0.015%full scale(FS)in a pressure range of 0.1~100 MPa and a temperature range of−10~50℃.The pressure sensitivity of the differential frequency was 261.10 Hz/MPa(~2523 ppm/MPa)at a temperature of 20℃,and the temperature sensitivities of the dual resonators were−1.54 Hz/℃(~−14.5 ppm/℃)and−1.57 Hz/℃(~−15.6 ppm/℃)at a pressure of 2 MPa.The differential output had an outstanding stability within±0.02 Hz under constant temperature and pressure.Thus,this research provides a convenient solution for high-pressure measurements because of its advantages,namely,large range,excellent accuracy and stability.

Heterosis,also known as hybrid vigor,is commonly observed in rice crosses.The hybridization of rice species or subspecies exhibits robust hybrid vigor,however,the direct harnessing of this vigor is hindered by reproductive isolation.Here,we review recent advances in the understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing reproductive isolation in inter-subspecific and inter-specific hybrids.This review encompasses the genetic model of reproductive isolation within and among Oryza sativa species,emphasizing the essential role of mitochondria in this process.Additionally,we delve into the molecular intricacies governing the interaction between mitochondria and autophagosomes,elucidating their significant contribution to reproductive isolation.Furthermore,our exploration extends to comprehending the evolutionary dynamics of reproductive isolation and speciation in rice.Building on these advances,we offer a forward-looking perspective on how to overcome the challenges of reproductive isolation and facilitate the utilization of heterosis in future hybrid rice breeding endeavors.

To overcome the pain and risk of hypoglycemia in insulin administration,glucose-responsive microneedles have been developed by researchers,which could release insulin according to the blood glucose level.We designed a kind of particles by a reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT)method containing a phenylboronic acid group as the sensor of glucose and carrier of insulin.poly(ethylene glycol)(PEG)-2-(dodecylthio(thiocarbonyl)thio)-2-methylpropionic acid(DDMAT)was synthesized as a macromolecular RAFT agent,which was then reacted with 3-acrylamidophenylboronic acid(AAPBA)to synthesize the block copolymer PEG-b-PAAPBA.Glucose-responsive particles loaded with insulin were prepared by self-assembly based on hydrophilic-hydrophobic interactions.Microneedle patches loaded with glucose-responsive particles were prepared using hyaluronic acid as the substrate.The insulin release behavior of the particles in glucose solutions of 0,100,and 400 mg/dL showed significant glucose responsiveness and good biosafety.The results of blood glucose control experiments in rats indicate that a single microneedle patch can effectively maintain normal blood glucose for over 7 h.

Due to its properties of mutagenic,teratogenic,and carcinogenic,the detection of furazolidone(FZD)in aquaculture is of great importance for food safety and human health.In this study,molecularly imprinted fi lms modifi ed with carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotube-phosphomolybdic acid composite were used to fabricate an electrochemical sensor for the determination of FZD.The nanocomposites were characterized using infrared spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy,and X-ray diff raction.The electrochemical characteristics of the modifi ed electrodes were examined using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy,cyclic voltammetry,and diff erential pulse voltammetry.The sensor exhibited exceptional catalytic performance.The calibration curves were acquired in the concentration range of 6 nmol·L^(−1)to 0.6μmol·L^(−1),with a limit of detection of 3.38 nmol·L^(−1).Additionally,the sensor proved successful in recognizing FZD in shrimp samples with satisfactory recoveries and precision.The method provides a strategy to construct a molecularly imprinted electrochemical sensing platform using nanomaterials,which has great promise in the field of food safety.

Adaptive detection of range-spread targets is considered in the presence of subspace interference plus Gaussian clutter with unknown covariance matrix.The target signal and interference are supposed to lie in two linearly independent subspaces with deterministic but unknown coordinates.Relying on the two-step criteria,two adaptive detectors based on Gradient tests are proposed,in homogeneous and partially homogeneous clutter plus subspace interference,respectively.Both of the proposed detectors exhibit theoretically constant false alarm rate property against unknown clutter covariance matrix as well as the power level.Numerical results show that,the proposed detectors have better performance than their existing counterparts,especially for mismatches in the signal steering vectors.

OBJECTIVE:To elucidate the mechanism of the nourishing Yin and purging fire Chinese herbal mixture(NYPF)in delaying light-induced premature puberty in rats.METHODS:Twenty-one days old female SpragueDawley rats were randomly assigned to normal group(N),long light exposure group(L),NYPF and normal saline group(NS).Rats in the L,NYPF and NS groups were exposed to 16 h:350 lux light/8 h:dark,while rats in the N group were exposed to 12 h:50 lux light/12 h:dark.NYPF and normal saline was administered to the rats in the NYPF group or NS group,respectively,from day 21.Five rats in every group were sacrificed at 9 p.***.on day 28(P28),on the day when rat's vulva opened in the L group(L-VO),on the day when the first estrous interphase occurred in rats of L group(L-E1),and on the day when the second estrous interphase occurred in rats of L group(L-E2),respectively.RESULITS:On day 34,all rats in the L group,80%of rats in the NS group,40%of rats in the N group,and 20%of rats in the NYPF group showed complete opening of the vulva.At P28,m RNA level of hypothalamic kisspeptin(Kiss-1)in the L group was significantly higher than that in the N group(P<0.05).The rats in the L and NS groups had significantly lower hypothalamic argininephenylalanine-amide(RFamide)-related peptide 3(RFRP-3)m RNA levels than those in the N group(P<0.05),whereas RFRP-3 m RNA level was significantly higher in the NYPF group than that in the L group(P<0.05).At L-VO,the ovarian index of the L and NS groups was significantly higher than that of the N group(P<0.05)and estradiol(E2)level of the NYPF group was significantly lower than that of the N and NS groups(P<0.05);hypothalamic Kiss-1 m RNA level in the L and NS groups was significantly higher than that in the N and NYPF groups(P<0.05),whereas hypothalamic RFRP-3 m RNA level in the L,NYPF,and NS groups was significantly lower than that in the N group(P<0.05).At L-E1,E2 level of the L and NS groups was significantly higher than that of the N group(P<0.01),whereas it was significantly lower in the NYPF group

The thermal gradient is an important factor that causes degradation to the image quality of telescopes. In order to ensure the accurate alignment of the primary focus unit and the primary mirror, the hexapod platform(as a corrector) is investigated in this paper. First, a ground-based telescope with 2.5 m aperture and 3.5 deg field of view is described. The telescope is under construction, and it is expected to be finished in 2023. Second, the hexapod platform with flexure hinges utilized to adjust the primary focus unit is proposed, which is applied as a corrector.Then, the inverse kinematics of the platform is established and an open-loop control system is built based on it.Finally, the cryogenic performance test for the hexapod platform is performed. The experimental results show that the resolution and repeatability of the translation for the hexapod platform can be achieved at the micrometer level.The resolution and repeatability of the rotation can be achieved at the arc-second level. Therefore, the cryogenic performance of the hexapod platform can meet the optical imaging requirements of the wide-field ground-based telescope. The kinematic analysis and cryogenic performance tests in the paper provide a technical reference for the precise alignment of the primary focus unit and the primary mirror, which can improve the imaging quality of the telescope.
