High-Temperature Stability of Mg-1Al-12Y Alloy Containing LPSO Phase and Mechanism of Its Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)Effect

In this study,the high-temperature stability and the generation mechanism of the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)effect in solid-solution Mg-1Al-12Y alloy with different heat treatment processes were investigated by adjusting the content of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)*** was found that the content of LPSO phases in the alloys differed the most after heat treatment at 530℃for 16 h and 24 h,with values of 13.56%and 3.93%***,high-temperature tensile experiments were conducted on these two alloys at temperatures of 150℃,200℃,250℃,and 300℃.The results showed that both alloys exhibited the PLC effect at temperatures ranging from 150 to 250℃.However,at a temperature 300℃,only the alloy with a greater concentration of LPSO phases exhibited the PLC effect,whereas the alloy with a lower proportion of LPSO phases did not exhibit this ***,both alloys exhibited remarkable high-temperature stability,with the alloy containing a greater percentage of LPSO phases also demonstrating superior *** underlying mechanism for this phenomenon lies in the exceptional high-temperature stability exhibited by the second phase within the ***,the LPSO phase effectively obstructs the movement of dislocations,and it also undergoing kinking to facilitate plastic deformation of the *** results indicate that the PLC effect can be suppressed by reducing dislocation pile-up at grain boundaries,which leads to a decrease in alloy plasticity but an increase in *** presence of the PLC effect in the WA121 alloy is attributed to the abundant dispersed second phase within the alloy,which initially hinders the movement of dislocations,leading to an increase in stress,and subsequently releases the dislocations,allowing them to continue their movement and thereby reducing in stress.

Labeling of the connected components is the key operation of the target recognition and segmentation in remote sensing *** conventional connected-component labeling(CCL) algorithms for ordinary optical images are considered time-consuming in processing the remote sensing images because of the larger size.A dynamic run-length based CCL algorithm(Dy RLC) is proposed in this paper for the large size,big granularity sparse remote sensing image,such as space debris images and ship *** addition,the equivalence matrix method is proposed to help design the pre-processing method to accelerate the equivalence labels *** result shows our algorithm outperforms 22.86% on execution time than the other algorithms in space debris image *** proposed algorithm also can be implemented on the field programming logical array(FPGA) to enable the realization of the real-time processing on-board.

Surface engineering based on in situ electro-polymerization to boost the initial Coulombic efficiency of hard carbon anode for sodium-ion battery

Hard carbon(HC) is considered as a commercial candidate for anode materials of sodium-ion batteries due to its low cost and excellent capacity. However, the problem of low initial Coulombic efficiency is still urgently needed to be solved to promote the industrialization of *** this paper, 2,2-dimethylvinyl boric acid(DEBA) is used to modify the surface of HC to prepare HC-DEBA materials. During the cycling, the C = C bonds of DEBA molecules will be in situ electro-polymerized to form a polymer network, which can act as the passive protecting layer to inhibit irreversible decomposition of electrolyte,and induce a thinner solid electrolyte interface with lower interface impedance. Therefore, HC-DEBA has higher initial Coulombic efficiency and better cycling stability. In ester-based electrolyte, the initial Coulombic efficiency of the optimized HC-DEBA-3% increases from 65.2% to77.2%. After 2000 cycles at 1 A·g^(-1), the capacity retention rate is 90.92%. Moreover, it can provide a high reversible capacity of 294.7 m Ah·g^(-1) at 50 mA·g^(-1). This simple surface modification method is ingenious and versatile,which can be extended to other energy storage materials.

Enhancing cell adhesive and antibacterial activities of glass-fibre-reinforced polyetherketoneketone through Mg and Ag PIII

Glass-fibre-reinforced polyetherketoneketone(PEKK-GF)shows great potential for application as a dental implant restoration material;however,its surface bioinertness and poor antibacterial properties limit its integration with peri-implant soft tissue,which is critical in the long-term success of implant ***,functional magnesium(Mg)and silver(Ag)ions were introduced into PEKK-GF by plasma immersion ion implantation(PIII).Surface characterization confirmed that the surface morphology of PEKK-GF was not visibly affected by PIII *** tests revealed that PIII changed the wettability and electrochemical environment of the PEKK-GF surface and enabled the release of Mg^(2+)and Ag^(+)modulated by Giavanni *** vitro experiments showed that Mg/Ag PIII-treated PEKK-GF promoted the proliferation and adhesion of human gingival fibroblasts and upregulated the expression of adhesion-related genes and *** addition,the treated samples inhibited the metabolic viability and adhesion of Streptococcus mutans and Porphyromonas gingivalis on their surfaces,distorting bacterial ***/Ag PIII surface treatment improved the soft tissue integration and antibacterial activities of PEKK-GF,which will further support and broaden its adoption in dentistry.

This paper is concerned with the existence of pullback attractors for the three dimensional nonautonomous Navier-Stokes-Voight equations for the processes generated by the weak and strong solutions. The main difficulty is how to establish the pullback asymptotic compactness via energy equation approach under suitable assumption on external force.

The monoclinic scheelite BiVO_(4)has impressive properties such as a narrow energy band gap,exceptional stability,and extended absorption in visible light,making it a suitable ***,the BiVO_(4)material encounters challenges such as the high recombination rate of photogenerated electronhole pairs and poor photoelectron conductivity,which limits photocatalytic *** address this problem,we developed Mo-doped BiVO_(4)films on FTO substrates for photoelectrocatalytic degradation of *** exposed to visible light,the Mo-BiVO_(4)film attained a 70%degradation of phenol in 120 min with a 1.2 V ***/AgCl bias—a 3.7 times improvement from pristine BiVO_(4).Mo-doping facilitates better migration and separation of electron-hole pairs and increases the concentration of photogenerated carriers,leading to an upward shift of the valence band potential direction,and an improvement in oxidation ***,density-functional theory(DFT)calculations were used to explain how Modoping with BiVO_(4)improves the adsorption energy to phenol degradation intermediates,emphasizing its effectiveness in promoting phenol ***,with the inclusion of DFT calculations,this work provides a more comprehensive understanding of the mechanism underlying the enhancement of photocatalytic activity by Mo-doped BiVO_(4),which is crucial information for the further development of effective and efficient photoanodes.

A program logic for obstruction-freedom

Though obstruction-free progress property is weaker than other non-blocking properties including lock-freedom and wait-freedom, it has advantages that have led to the use of obstruction-free implementations for software transactional memory (STM) and in anonymous and fault-tolerant distributed computing. However, existing work can only verify obstruction-freedom of specific data structures (e.g., STM and list-based algorithms).In this paper, to fill this gap, we propose a program logic that can formally verify obstruction-freedom of practical implementations, as well as verify linearizability, a safety property, at the same time. We also propose informal principles to extend a logic for verifying linearizability to verifying obstruction-freedom. With this approach, the existing proof for linearizability can be reused directly to construct the proof for both linearizability and ***, we have successfully applied our logic to verifying a practical obstruction-free double-ended queue implementation in the first classic paper that has proposed the definition of obstruction-freedom.

Transient stability probability of a power system incorporating a wind farm

An analytical approach for probabilistic evaluation of transient stability of a power system incorporating a wind farm is presented in this study. Based on the fact that the boundary of practical dynamic security region(PDSR) of a power system with double fed induction generators(DFIG) can be approximated by one or few hyper-planes in nodal power injection space, transient stability criterion for given configurations of pre-fault, fault-on and post-fault of a power system is to be expressed by certain expressions of linear combination of nodal injection vector and the transient stability probability(TSP) is further obtained with a much more simplified expression than the complex integral. Furthermore, considering uncertainties of nodal injection power including wind power and load, TSP is calculated analytically by Cornish-Fisher expansion, which can provide reliable evaluation results with high accuracy and much less computing time compared with Monte Carlo simulation. TSP and its visualization can further help operators and planners be aware of the degree of stability or instability and find critical components to monitor and reinforce. Test results on the New England 10-generators and 39-buses power system show the method's effectiveness and significance for probabilistic security assessment.

An economic assessment of the health effects and crop yield losses caused by air pollution in China's Mainland

Air pollution is severe in China, and pollutants such as PM2.5 and surface 03 may cause major damage to human health and crops, respectively. Few studies have considered the health effects of PM2.5 or the loss of crop yields due to surface 03 using model-simulated air pollution data in China. We used gridded outputs from the WRF-Chem model, high resolution population data, and crop yield data to evaluate the effects on human health and crop yield in China's Mainland. Our results showed that outdoor PM2.5 pollution was responsible for 1.70-1.99 million cases of all-cause mortality in 2006. The economic costs of these health effects were estimated to be 151.1-176.9 billion USD, of which 90% were attributed to mortality. The estimated crop yield losses for wheat, rice, maize, and soybean were approximately 9, 4.6, 0.44, and 0.34 million tons, respectively, resulting in economic losses of 3.4 billion USD. The total economic losses due to ambient air pollution were estimated to be 154.5-180.3 billion USD, accounting for approximately 5.7%-6.6% of the total GDP of China in 2006. Our results show that both population health and staple crop yields in China have been significantly affected by exposure to air pollution. Measures should be taken to reduce emissions, improve air quality, and mitigate the economic loss.
