Objective:To provide high-quality clinical evidence of the efficacy of Tibetan medicine Honghua Ruyi(HHRY)pills for endometriosis-associated ***:This study constitutes a multicenter,randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled trial encompassing a three-menstrual cycle intervention followed by a three-menstrual cycle follow-up period.A total of 164 eligible females with endometriosis-associated dysmenorrhea were randomly divided into HHRY pills and placebo groups in a 1:1 *** primary outcome included dysmenorrhea symptoms assessed using Visual Analog Scale(VAS)scores and quality of life,whereas the secondary outcome measures included the maximum VAS for non-menstrual pelvic pain,duration of pain episodes(in days),frequency and quantity of the consumption of ibuprofen sustained-release capsules(or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs),and days off work/study for staff/student due to dysmenorrhea,ovarian cyst,and/or pelvic nodule *** safety was monitored throughout the treatment *** the analyses were based on the intention-to-treat *** continuous outcomes,simple or multiple linear regressions were used to estimate the differences between the HHRY pills and placebo groups,with categorical data expressed as the number and percentage of *** were compared using the chi-square test or Fisher's exact *** predefined analysis was adjusted for concomitant treatment,a variable considered to be associated with outcomes but unaffected by treatment *** of treatment effects were reported with 95%confidence ***-tailed P values≤.05 were considered statistically ***:Positive results from this trial,upon completion would provide robust evidence for the efficacy and safety of HHRY pills in treating dysmenorrhea in patients with endometriosis.

The effect of bladder function on the efficacy of transurethral prostatectomy in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia:a retrospective,single-center study

We investigated the impact and predictive value of bladder function in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)on the efficacy of transurethral ***,imaging,and urodynamic data of patients who underwent transurethral prostatectomy at West China Hospital of Sichuan University(Chengdu,China)from July 2019 to December 2021 were ***-up data included the quality of life(QoL),International Prostate Symptom Score(IPSS),and IPSS storage and voiding(IPSS-s and IPSS-v).Moreover,urinary creatinine(Cr),nerve growth factor(NGF),brain-derived neurotrophic factor(BDNF),and prostaglandin estradiol(PGE2)were measured in 30 patients with BPH and 30 healthy *** indicators were determined by subgroup analyses and receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve *** the 313 patients with BPH included,patients with severe micturition problems had more improvements but higher micturition grades postoperatively than those with moderate ***,good bladder sensation,compliance,and detrusor contractility(Dc)were predictors of low postoperative IPSS and *** urinary concentrations of BDNF/Cr,NGF/Cr,and PGE2/Cr in patients were significantly higher than those in healthy participants(all P<***1).After evaluation,only DC was significantly related to both urinary indicators and postoperative recovery of *** with good DC,as predicted by urinary indicators,had lower IPSS and IPSS-v than those with reduced DC at the 1st month postoperatively(both P<0.05).In summary,patients with impaired bladder function had poor *** combined levels of urinary BDNF/Cr,NGF/Cr,and PGE2/Cr in patients with BPH may be valid predictors of preoperative bladderfunction and postoperative recovery.

Prediction of bedload transport inside vegetation canopies with natural morphology

Due to vegetation drag and vegetation-generated turbulence,bedload transport in vegetated channels is more complicated than that in nonvegetated *** is challenging to obtain accurate predictions of bedload transport in vegetated *** studies generally used rigid circular cylinders to simulate vegetation,and the impact of plant morphology on bedload transport was typically ignored;these methods deviate from natural scenarios,resulting in prediction errors in transport rates of more than an order of *** study measured bedload transport rates inside ***,*** and *** canopies and in arrays of rigid cylinders for *** impact of plant morphology on bedload transport in vegetated channels was *** the canopies of natural morphology,the primary factor driving bedload transport is the near-bed turbulent kinetic energy(TKE),which consists of both bed-generated and vegetation-generated turbulence.A method was proposed to predict the near-bed TKE inside canopies with natural *** the same solid volume fraction of plants,the transport rate inside canopies with a natural morphology is greater than or equal to that within an array of rigid cylinders,depending on the plant *** finding indicates that plant morphology has a significant impact on transport rates in vegetated regions and cannot be ignored,which is typical in *** classic bedload transport equations(the Meyer-Peter-Müller,Einstein,Engelund and Dou equations),which are suitable for bare channels(no vegetation),were modified in terms of the near-bed *** predicted near-bed TKE was inserted into these four equations to predict the transport rate in canopies with natural morphology.A comparison of the predictions indicated that the Meyer-Peter-Müller equation had the highest accuracy in predicting the transport rate in vegetated landscapes.

The photosynthesis of hydrogen peroxide(H_(2)O_(2))through the selective 2e^(-)oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)from O_(2)and H_(2)O stands out as an environmentally sustainable and cost-effective method for generating this essential ***,the widespread application of most photocatalysts is impeded by their reliance on sacrificial *** this context,we present a noteworthy advancement in the form of a step-scheme(S-scheme)heterojunction involving a donor-acceptor(D-A)-conjugated polymer and manganese cadmium sulfide(BTz@MCS).This innovative configuration enables efficient photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2)production within a non-sacrificial system,showcasing an impressive H_(2)O_(2)yield of 5,368μmol g^(-1)h^(-1)and an apparent quantum yield of 4.5%at 420 *** insights gained from in-situ irradiated X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(ISIXPS),in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transformations spectroscopy(DRIFTS),and density function calculations(DFT),it is revealed that the sp^(2)C between thiazole-thiazole rings at the BTz and the concentrated holes at the MCS function as spatially separated redox *** centers catalyze the selective 2e^(-)ORR and 4e^(-)water oxidation reaction(WOR)*** O_(2)generated from the WOR is subsequently utilized by the ORR cycle,enabling the overall photosynthesis of H_(2)O_(2)with accelerated total reaction ***,the high photocatalytic performance of the developed catalyst is attributed to well-designed S-scheme heterojunctions with tuned band *** spatially separated redox centers and effective transfer of photogenerated charge carriers facilitated by the internal electric field significantly enhance reaction *** study introduces a promising avenue for photocatalytic H_(2)O_(2)production without sacrificial agents,providing valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms in S-scheme heterojunctions.

In recent years, the gap between the supply and demand of medical radioisotopes has increased, necessitating new methods for producing medical radioisotopes. Photonuclear reactions based on gamma sources have unique advantages in terms of producing high specific activity and innovative medical radioisotopes. However, the lack of experimental data on reaction cross sections for photonuclear reactions of medical radioisotopes of interest has severely limited the development and production of photonuclear transmutation medical radioisotopes. In this study, the entire process of the generation, decay, and measurement of medical radioisotopes was simulated using online gamma activation and offline gamma measurements combined with a shielding gamma-ray spectrometer. Based on a quasi-monochromatic gamma beam from the Shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source (SLEGS), the feasibility of this measurement of production cross section for surveyed medical radioisotopes was simulated, and specific solutions for measuring medical radioisotopes with ultra-low production cross sections were provided. The feasibility of this method for high-precision measurements of the reaction cross section of medical radioisotopes was demonstrated.

A semi-analytical pressure and rate transient analysis model for inner boundary and propped fractures exhibiting dynamic behavior under long-term production conditions

The loss of hydrocarbon production caused by the dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures under long-term production conditions has been widely reported in recent studies. However,the quantitative relationships for the variations of the inner boundary and propped fractures have not been determined and incorporated in the semi-analytical models for the pressure and rate transient analysis. This work focuses on describing the variations of the inner boundary and propped fractures and capturing the typical characteristics from the pressure transient curves.A generalized semi-analytical model was developed to characterize the dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures under long-term production conditions. The pressure-dependent length shrinkage coefficients, which quantify the length changes of the inner zone and propped fractures, are modified and incorporated into this multi-zone semi-analytical model. With simultaneous numerical iterations and numerical inversions in Laplace and real-time space, the transient solutions to pressure and rate behavior are determined in just a few seconds. The dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures on transient pressure curves is divided into five periods: fracture bilinear flow(FR1),dynamic PFs flow(FR2), inner-area linear flow(FR3), dynamic inner boundary flow(FR4), and outer-area dominated linear flow(FR5). The early hump during FR2 period and a positive upward shift during FR4period are captured on the log-log pressure transient curves, reflecting the dynamic behavior of the inner boundary and propped fractures during the long-term production *** transient pressure behavior will exhibit greater positive upward trend and the flow rate will be lower with the shrinkage of the inner boundary. Green manuring relocates microbiomes in driving the soil functionality of nitrogen cycling to obtain preferable grain yields in thirty years

Fertilizers are widely used to produce more food, inevitably altering the diversity and composition of soil organisms. The role of soil biodiversity in controlling multiple ecosystem services remains unclear, especially after decades of fertilization. Here, we assess the contribution of the soil functionalities of carbon(C), nitrogen(N), and phosphorus(P) cycling to crop production and explore how soil organisms control these functionalities in a 33-year field fertilization experiment. The long-term application of green manure or cow manure produced wheat yields equivalent to those obtained with chemical N, with the former providing higher soil functions and allowing the functionality of N cycling(especially soil N mineralization and biological N fixation) to control wheat production. The keystone phylotypes within the global network rather than the overall microbial community dominated the soil multifunctionality and functionality of C,N, and P cycling across the soil profile(0–100 cm). We further confirmed that these keystone phylotypes consisted of many metabolic pathways of nutrient cycling and essential microbes involved in organic C mineralization, N_(2)O release, and biological N fixation. The chemical N, green manure, and cow manure resulted in the highest abundances of amoB, nifH, and GH48 genes and Nitrosomonadaceae,Azospirillaceae, and Sphingomonadaceae within the keystone phylotypes, and these microbes were significantly and positively correlated with N_(2)O release, N fixation, and organic C mineralization, respectively. Moreover, our results demonstrated that organic fertilization increased the effects of the network size and keystone phylotypes on the subsoil functions by facilitating the migration of soil microorganisms across the soil profiles and green manure with the highest migration rates.
