Evolution of MnO–SiO2–Al_(2)O_(3)–MgO inclusions during heat treatment at 1100℃

To investigate the evolutionary behavior of the MnO–SiO_(2)–Al_(2)O_(3)–MgO inclusions during heat treatment,water quenched samples were isothermally held at 1100°C for 120 min in Ar and air atmosphere,and the obtaining samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrometer.It showed that 3MnO·Al_(2)O_(3)·3SiO_(2)and MnO·SiO_(2)were detected in the 5 wt.%MgO system after isothermal holding in Ar atmosphere,while MgO·Al_(2)O_(3),MnO·SiO_(2)and Mn7O8·SiO4 were detected in air atmosphere.The evolutionary behavior of the 10,15 and 20 wt.%MgO systems after isothermal holding in different atmosphere were consistent.Oxygen affected the solid phase transformation of the low MgO content systems.The calculation results of FactSage 8.1 showed that MgO·Al_(2)O_(3)was formed in the 5 wt.%MgO system with air atmosphere.The solid phase transformation was accompanied by grain coarsening during the isothermal holding process.The differences in the solid phase transformation in different atmosphere of the 5 wt.%MgO system indicated that it was a gas-phase transport grain coarsening mechanism.The enrichment of Al element in the liquid phase region at the grain edges,the homogeneous distribution of Mg element and the disappearance of the liquid phase within the crystal revealed that other MgO content systems were liquid–solid transport grain coarsening mechanism.

Healthy and livable living environments,as well as anti-electromagnetic(EM)radiation buildings,are the long-term goals of human beings.The introduction of advanced EM wave absorbing materials into buildings is one of the most feasible ways to address the increasing EM pollution in building spaces.High-efficiency,broadband,low-cost and good building performance EM wave absorbing materials,as an important support in the field of sustainable building,has gradually become the hotspot research.Here,we review the research progress of building materials with EM wave absorption functions,and comb their classification,including cement,concrete,ceramics,and prefabs,especially highlighting the advanced coating materials.We objectively outline and evaluate the latest technology of building materials with EM wave absorption performance,and discuss the main problems and bottlenecks,highlighting potential research opportunities.

One important subject in the field of all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) is the exploration of electron-deficient building blocks with optimized physicochemical properties to promote the performance of polymer acceptors. Here, two ladder-type heteroheptacene-containing small-molecule acceptors with branched 2-octyldodecyl or 2-hexyldecyl side-chains are synthesized and polymerized with the thiophene co-monomer to afford polymer acceptors (PW-OD and PW-HD) with strong near-infrared absorption. Experimental results reveal that the alkyl chain length has a large impact on the molecular packing behavior of the resulting polymers, which in turn affects their light-absorbing and charge transport properties, and thus the photovoltaic performance of the final devices. When blended with the polymer donor PM6, PW-HD-based all-PSCs deliver a higher power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9.12% compared to the PCE of 6.47% for the PW-OD-based all-PSCs, mainly due to its more ordered inter-chain packing and more favorable blend morphology. This work provides a promising building block for the development of high-performance narrow-bandgap polymer acceptors and highlights the importance of side-chain substitution in optimizing the photovoltaic performance of polymer acceptors.

Spinal cord injury that results in severe neurological disability is often incurable.The poor clinical outcome of spinal cord injury is mainly caused by the failure to reconstruct the injured neural circuits.Several intrinsic and extrinsic determinants contribute to this inability to reconnect.Epigenetic regulation acts as the driving force for multiple pathological and physiological processes in the central nervous system by modulating the expression of certain critical genes.Recent studies have demonstrated that post-SCI alteration of epigenetic landmarks is strongly associated with axon regeneration,glial activation and neurogenesis.These findings not only establish a theoretical foundation for further exploration of spinal cord injury,but also provide new avenues for the clinical treatment of spinal cord injury.This review focuses on the epigenetic regulation in axon regeneration and secondary spinal cord injury.Together,these discoveries are a selection of epigenetic-based prognosis biomarkers and attractive therapeutic targets in the treatment of spinal cord injury.

BACKGROUND As one of the most common complications of osteoporosis,osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture(OVCF)increases the risk of disability and mortality in elderly patients.Percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)is considered to be an effective,safe,and minimally invasive treatment for OVCFs.The recollapse of cemented vertebrae is one of the serious complications of PVP.However,the risk factors associated with recollapse after PVP remain controversial.AIM To identify risk factors for the recollapse of cemented vertebrae after PVP in patients with OVCFs.METHODS A systematic search in EMBASE,MEDLINE,the Cochrane Library,and PubMed was conducted for relevant studies from inception until March 2020.Studies investigating risk factors for the recollapse of cemented vertebrae after PVP without additional trauma were selected for analysis.Odds ratios(ORs)or standardized mean differences with 95%confidence interval(CI)were calculated and heterogeneity was assessed by both the chi-squared test and the I-squared test.The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed according to the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale.RESULTS A total of nine case-control studies were included in our meta-analysis comprising 300 cases and 2674 controls.The significant risk factors for the recollapse of cemented vertebrae after PVP in OVCF patients were fractures located at the thoracolumbar junction(OR=2.09;95%CI:1.30 to 3.38;P=0.002),preoperative intravertebral cleft(OR=2.97;95%CI:1.93 to 4.57;P<0.00001),and solid lump distribution pattern of the cement (OR = 3.11;95%CI: 1.91 to 5.07;P < 0.00001).The analysis did not support that age, gender, lumbar bone mineral density,preoperative visual analogue scale score, injected cement volume, intradiscalcement leakage, or vertebral height restoration could increase the risk forcemented vertebra recollapse after PVP in OVCFs.CONCLUSIONThis meta-analysis suggests that thoracolumbar junction fractures, preoperativeintravertebral cleft, and solid lump cement distribution pattern are associatedwith

通过比较欧洲人类生殖和胚胎学会和美国生殖医学协会联合发表的鹿特丹共识、中国的多囊卵巢综合征诊治标准专家共识和美国内分泌学会的临床实践指南,分析了不同指南对育龄期、青春期和围绝经期多囊卵巢综合症诊断标准的差异,概括了多囊卵巢综合征临床治疗的主要方面,同时提出了一些诊治方面的新进展及今后需要进一步关注的问题。在多囊卵巢综合征的诊断上,对育龄期女性的标准三大指南略有不同,而对青春期和围绝经期女性的标准尚待完善。多囊卵巢综合征的治疗主要围绕肥胖、月经失调、高雄激素血症、胰岛素抵抗、不孕、青春期、心理干预等来进行,各大指南各有侧重。由于不同种族的多囊卵巢综合征的临床表现差异较大,需要尽早建立具有种族特异性的指南来改善诊疗过度或不足的情况。

Effect of ferromanganese additions on non-metallic inclusion characteristics in TRIP steel

The inclusion characteristics in extra low-carbon ferromanganese(ELC-FeMn),low-carbon ferromanganese(LC-FeMn),mid-carbon ferromanganese(MC-FeMn),and high-carbon ferromanganese(HC-FeMn)were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy.The effect of FeMn alloys on the cleanliness of transformation-induced plasticity(TRIP)steel was studied based on laboratory-scale experiments and thermodynamic calculations.The results show that the main inclusions in ELC-FeMn are MnO-MnS and MnS,and the dominant inclusions in LC-FeMn and MC-FeMn are MnO,MnO-SiO_(2),and MnO-SiO_(2)-MnS.The inclusions in HC-FeMn are diversified.Besides MnO-SiO_(2)inclusion,a certain number of Al-,Si-,and Ti-containing inclusions and enrichment phases of Pb,Sn,and P are observed in HC-FeMn.Before FeMn alloy addition,the main inclusion in steel is Al2O.After alloying with the four different grades of FeMn alloy,the main inclusions in TRIP steel are Al_(2)O_(3),AIN,MnS,AlO3-AIN,AINMnS,and Al_(2)O_(3)-MnS.The MnO and SiO_(2)inclusions from FeMn alloys are not detected in TRIP steel.

High-speed flexible near-infrared organic photodiode for optical communication

Optical communication is a particularly compelling technology for tackling the speed and capacity bottlenecks in data communication in modern society. Currently, the silicon photodetector plays a dominant role in high-speed optical communication across the visible-near-infrared spectrum. However, its intrinsic rigid structure, high working bias and low responsivity essentially limit its application in next-generation flexible optoelectronic devices. Herein, we report a narrow-bandgap non-fullerene acceptor（NFA） with a remarkable π-extension in the direction of both central and end units（CH17） with respect to the Y6 series, which demonstrates a more effective and compact 3D molecular packing, leading to lower trap states and energetic disorders in the photoactive film. Consequently, the optimized solution-processed organic photodetector（OPD） with CH17 exhibits a remarkable response time of 91 ns（λ = 880 nm） due to the high charge mobility and low parasitic capacitance, exceeding the values of most commercial Si photodiodes and all NFA-based OPDs operating in self-powered mode. More significantly, the flexible OPD exhibits negligible performance attenuation（<1%） after bending for 500 cycles, and maintains 96% of its initial performance even after 550 h of indoor exposure. Furthermore, the high-speed OPD demonstrates a high data transmission rate of 80 MHz with a bit error rate of 3.5 × 10-4, meaning it has great potential in next-generation high-speed flexible optical communication systems.
