Given the global prevalence and rising incidence of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease(MASLD),the absence of licensed medications is striking.A deeper understanding of the heterogeneous nature of MASLD has recently contributed to the discovery of novel groups of agents and the potential repurposing of currently available *** therapies center on four major *** the close relationship between MASLD and type 2 diabetes,the first approach involves antidiabetic medications,including incretins,thiazolidinedione insulin sensitizers,and sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 *** second approach targets hepatic lipid accumulation and the resultant metabolic *** in this group include peroxisome proliferatoractivated receptor agonists(e.g.,pioglitazone,elafibranor,saroglitazar),bile acid-farnesoid X receptor axis regulators(obeticholic acid),de novo lipogenesis inhibitors(aramchol,NDI-010976),and fibroblast growth factor 21/19 *** third approach focuses on targeting oxidative stress,inflammation,and *** in this group include antioxi-dants(vitamin E),tumor necrosis factor a pathway regulators(emricasan,pentoxifylline,ZSP1601),and immune modulators(cenicriviroc,belapectin).The final group targets the gut(IMM-124e,solithromycin).Combination therapies targeting different pathogenetic pathways may provide an alternative to MASLD treatment with higher efficacy and fewer side *** review aimed to provide an update on these medications.

Actin and Myosin Co-Localize in Plasmodesmata and Ectodesmata-Like Structure

Actin and myosin were found to be associated with the cytoplasmic sleeve of plasmodesmata. As cytoskeletal proteins, actin and myosin are believed to regulate the conductivity of plasmodesmata （PDs） in higher plants. Using immunocytochemical methods, we found the two proteins to be co-localized - and closely linked to each other - in plasmodesmata and ectodesmata-like structure in ageing parenchymatous cells of Allium sativum L. We suggest that intercellular communication is affected by the interaction between actin and myosin.

Expression of TET and 5-HmC in Trophoblast Villi of Women with Normal Pregnancy and with Early Pregnancy Loss

Increasing evidence suggests that epigenetic dysfunction may influence the stability of normal pregnancy. The ten-eleven translocation （TET） family and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine （5-hmC） were found to be linked with epigenetic reprogramming. The present study aimed to examine the expression of the TET family and 5-hmC in the villi of human embryos and compared their expression between normal pregnancy and early pregnancy loss （EPL）. Embryonic villi were collected from normal pregnant women （control） experiencing medical abortion and from EPL patients at gestation ages of 6, 7 and 8 weeks. The mRNAs of TET family were analysed using quantitative polymerase chain reaction （qPCR）, and TET proteins using Western blotting and immunohistochemical analysis. The MethylFlashTM Kit was used to quantify the absolute amount of 5-methylcytosine （5-mC） and 5-hmC. Our results showed that the expression of the TETs and 5-hmC in the normal villus decreased with increasing gestational age. Immunohistochemistry revealed that the TET proteins were expressed in the cytoplasm of trophoblasts and their expression was the highest in the 6-week tissue samples, which was consistent with the qPCR and Western blot results. The expression of TET1, TET2, and TET3 was lower in the villi in EPL group than in normal pregnancy group （P〈0.05 for all）. It was concluded that the TET family and 5-hmC are critical in epigenetic reprogramming of human embryo. The findings also suggest that a deficiency of TETs in the villus might be associated with human EPL.

A typhoon-induced storm surge numerical model with GPU acceleration based on an unstructured spherical centroidal Voronoi tessellation grid

Storm surge is often the marine disaster that poses the greatest threat to life and property in coastal *** and timely issuance of storm surge warnings to take appropriate countermeasures is an important means to reduce storm surge-related *** surge numerical models are important for storm surge *** further improve the performance of the storm surge forecast models,we developed a numerical storm surge forecast model based on an unstructured spherical centroidal Voronoi tessellation(SCVT)*** model is based on shallow water equations in vector-invariant form,and is discretized by Arakawa C *** SCVT grid can not only better describe the coastline information but also avoid rigid transitions,and it has a better global consistency by generating high-resolution grids in the key areas through transition *** addition,the simulation speed of the model is accelerated by using the openACC-based GPU acceleration technology to meet the timeliness requirements of operational ensemble *** only takes 37 s to simulate a day in the coastal waters of *** newly developed storm surge model was applied to simulate typhoon-induced storm surges in the coastal waters of *** hindcast experiments on the selected representative typhoon-induced storm surge processes indicate that the model can reasonably simulate the distribution characteristics of storm *** simulated maximum storm surges and their occurrence times are consistent with the observed data at the representative tide gauge stations,and the mean absolute errors are 3.5 cm and 0.6 h respectively,showing high accuracy and application prospects.

Field-based evidence for the enrichment of intrinsic antibiotic resistome stimulated by plant-derived fertilizer in agricultural soil

Research on Carbon Emission for Preventive Maintenance of Wind Turbine Gearbox Based on Stochastic Differential Equation

Time based maintenance(TBM)and condition based maintenance(CBM)are widely applied in many large wind farms to optimize the maintenance issues of wind turbine gearboxes,however,these maintenance strategies do not take into account environmental benefits during full life cycle such as carbon emissions ***,this article proposes a carbon emissions computing model for preventive maintenance activities of wind turbine gearboxes to solve the *** on the change of the gearbox state during operation and the influence of external random factors on the gearbox state,a stochastic differential equation model(SDE)and corresponding carbon emission model are established,wherein SDE is applied to model the evolution of the device state,whereas carbon emission is used to implement carbon emissions *** simulation results indicate that the proposed preventive maintenance cannot ensure reliable operation of wind turbine gearboxes but reduce carbon emissions during their *** with TBM,CBM minimizes unit carbon emissions without influencing reliable operation,making it an effective maintenance method.

Studies on the Surface Interaction Between MoO_3 and ZSM-11 Zeolite

A series of Mo-containing ZSM-11 zeolite catalysts has been prepared by calcining mixtures of MoO3 and ZSM-11 zeolite, and studied by using X-ray diffraction and infrared spectroscopy. It has been found that MoO3 can be well dispersed on ZSM-11 zeolite as a surface molybdenum species, and mostly within the zeolite cavities. With increasing the amount of dispersed MoO3, the zeolite framework is destroyed, and the crystallinity of the zeolite decreases. It seems that this perturbation is due to the strong interaction between dispersed MoO3 and zeolite framework.

Modeling urban scale human mobility through big data analysis and machinelearning

In the United States,the buildings sector consumes about 76%of electricity use and 40% of all primary energy use and associated greenhouse gas *** behavior has drawn increasing research interests due to its impacts on the building energy ***,occupant behavior study at urban scale remains a challenge,and very limited studies have been *** an effort to couple big data analysis with human mobility modeling,this study has explored urban scale human mobility utilizing three months Global Positioning System(GPS)data of 93,o00 users at Phoenix Metropolitan *** research extracted stay points from raw data,and identified users'home,work,and other locations by Density-Based Spatial Clustering ***,daily mobility patterns were constructed using different types of *** propose a novel approach to predict urban scale daily human mobility patterns with 12-hour prediction horizon,using Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)neural network *** shows the developed models achieved around 85%average accuracy and about 86%mean *** developed models can be further applied to analyze urban scale occupant behavior,building energy demand and flexibility,and contributed to urban planning.
