Friction reactions induced by selective hydrogenation of textured surface under lubricant conditions

The passivation of hydrogen atoms and the conformation of textured surfaces under oil-lubricated conditions are effective strategies to obtain amorphous carbon(a-C)films with extremely low *** is critical to understanding the influence mechanism of selective surface hydrogenation on the tribological behaviors of textured a-C film under oil-lubricated *** particular,the interactions of hydrogen atoms and lubricants are confusing,which is enslaved to the in situ characterization *** reactive molecular dynamics(RMD)simulations were conducted to analyze the friction response of textured a-C films with selective hydrogenation surfaces under oil-lubricated *** results indicate that the existence of hydrogen atoms on specific bump sites significantly decreases the friction coefficient(μ)of textured a-C film,which is highly dependent on the surface hydrogen *** repulsion between hydrogen atoms and lubricant molecules prompts the formation of a dense lubricant film on the surface of the mating ***,with the enhancement of the surface hydrogen content,the passivation of the friction interface and the repulsion between hydrogen atoms and lubricants play dominant roles in reducing the friction coefficient instead of hydrodynamic lubrication.

On-chip spectrometers with high compactness and portability enable new applications in scientific research and industrial development. Fourier transform(FT) spectrometers have the potential to realize a high signal-to-noise ratio. Here we propose and demonstrate a generalized design for high-performance on-chip FT *** spectrometer is based on the dynamic in-plane reconfiguration of a waveguide coupler enabled by an integrated comb-drive actuator array. The electrostatic actuation intrinsically features ultra-low power consumption. The coupling gap is crucial to the spectral resolution. The in-plane reconfiguration surmounts the lithography accuracy limitation of the coupling gap, boosting the resolution to 0.2 nm for dual spectral spikes over a large bandwidth of 100 nm(1.5–1.6 μm) within a compact footprint of 75 μm × 1000 μm. Meanwhile, the in-plane tuning range can be large enough for arbitrary wavelengths to ensure the effectiveness of spectrum reconstruction. As a result, the proposed spectrometer can be easily transplanted to other operation bands by simply scaling the structural parameters. As a proof-of-concept, a mid-infrared spectrometer is further demonstrated with a dual-spike reconstruction resolution of 1.5 nm and a bandwidth of 300 nm(4–4.3 μm).

Massive efforts have been concentrated on the advance of eminent near-infrared(NIR) photothermal materials(PTMs) in the NIR-Ⅱ window(1000–1700 nm), especially organic PTMs because of their intrinsic biological safety compared with inorganic PTMs. However, so far, only a few NIR-Ⅱresponsive organic PTMs was explored, and their photothermal conversion efficiencies(PCEs) still remain relatively low. Herein, donor–acceptor conjugated diradical polymers with open-shell characteristics are explored for synergistically photothermal immunotherapy of metastatic tumors in the NIR-Ⅱ window. By employing side-chain regulation, the conjugated diradical polymer TTB-2 with obvious NIR-Ⅱ absorption was developed, and its nanoparticles realize a record-breaking PCE of 87.7% upon NIR-Ⅱ light illustration. In vitro and in vivo experiments demonstrate that TTB-2 nanoparticles show good tumor photoablation with navigation of photoacoustic imaging in the NIR-Ⅱ window, without any side-effect. Moreover, by combining with PD-1 antibody,the pulmonary metastasis of breast cancer is high-effectively prevented by the efficient photo-immunity effect. Thus, this study explores superior PTMs for cancer metastasis theranostics in the NIR-Ⅱ window, offering a new horizon in developing radical-characteristic NIR-Ⅱ photothermal materials.

Flexible electronics offer a multitude of advantages, such as flexibility, lightweight property,portability, and high durability. These unique properties allow for seamless applications to curved and soft surfaces, leading to extensive utilization across a wide range of fields in consumer electronics. These applications, for example, span integrated circuits, solar cells,batteries, wearable devices, bio-implants, soft robotics, and biomimetic applications. Recently,flexible electronic devices have been developed using a variety of materials such as organic,carbon-based, and inorganic semiconducting materials. Silicon(Si) owing to its mature fabrication process, excellent electrical, optical, thermal properties, and cost efficiency, remains a compelling material choice for flexible electronics. Consequently, the research on ultra-thin Si in the context of flexible electronics is studied rigorously nowadays. The thinning of Si is crucially important for flexible electronics as it reduces its bending stiffness and the resultant bending strain, thereby enhancing flexibility while preserving its exceptional properties. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the recent efforts in the fabrication techniques for forming ultra-thin Si using top-down and bottom-up approaches and explores their utilization in flexible electronics and their applications.
