Many fields,such as neuroscience,are experiencing the vast prolife ration of cellular data,underscoring the need fo r organizing and interpreting large datasets.A popular approach partitions data into manageable subsets via hierarchical clustering,but objective methods to determine the appropriate classification granularity are *** recently introduced a technique to systematically identify when to stop subdividing clusters based on the fundamental principle that cells must differ more between than within *** we present the corresponding protocol to classify cellular datasets by combining datadriven unsupervised hierarchical clustering with statistical *** general-purpose functions are applicable to any cellular dataset that can be organized as two-dimensional matrices of numerical values,including molecula r,physiological,and anatomical *** demonstrate the protocol using cellular data from the Janelia MouseLight project to chara cterize morphological aspects of neurons.

A strong earthquake occurred in wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, China, on May 12, 2008. Shortly after the earthquake, the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center of the Federal Highway Administration, in partnership with the Research Institute of Highways, the Ministry of Communication of China, led a reconnaissance team to conduct a post-earthquake bridge performance investigation of the transportation system in the earthquake affected areas. The U.S. transportation system reconnaissance team visited the area during July 20 24, 2008. This paper presents the findings and lessons learned by the team.

Currently, there are a limited number of dynamic models available for braided composite plates with large overall motions, despite the incorporation of three-dimensional(3D) braided composites into rotating blade components. In this paper, a dynamic model of 3D 4-directional braided composite thin plates considering braiding directions is established. Based on Kirchhoff's plate assumptions, the displacement variables of the plate are expressed. By incorporating the braiding directions into the constitutive equation of the braided composites, the dynamic model of the plate considering braiding directions is obtained. The effects of the speeds, braiding directions, and braided angles on the responses of the plate with fixed-axis rotation and translational motion, respectively, are investigated. This paper presents a dynamic theory for calculating the deformation of 3D braided composite structures undergoing both translational and rotational motions. It also provides a simulation method for investigating the dynamic behavior of non-isotropic material plates in various applications.

Power system stability is enhanced through a novel stabilizer developed around an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode approach which applies the Nussbaum gain to a nonlinear model of a single-machine infinite-bus （SMIB） and multi-machine power system stabilizer subjected to a three phase fault. The Nussbaum gain is used to avoid the positive sign constraint and the problem of controllability of the system. A comparative simulation study is presented to evaluate the achieved performance.

Long-term continuous health care monitoring,using wearable technologies has received considerable interest due to the significant contribution of wearables to the diagnosis of diseases and identification of health *** have been widely applied in human societies due to their unique advantages,including stretchability,small diameters,high dynamic bending elasticity,high length-to-width ratios,and mechanical strength.A new generation of fiber-based electrodes is being integrated into smart textiles and wearables for continuous long-term biosignal *** fiber-based electrodes are breathable,flexible,and durable,unlike conventional disposable gel electrodes,which are difficult to employ for long-term applications because of skin irritation and allergic responses caused by their moist and adhesive interface with the *** this review,we provide a concise summary of recent breakthroughs in the design,and manufacturing of dry fiber-based electrodes for electrophysiology applications,with a particular emphasis on applications in electrocardiography,electromyography,and *** on numerous features of electroactive fiber materials,fiber processing,electrode fabrication,scaled-up manufacturing,standardization of testing and performance criteria,we discuss current limitations and provide an outlook for the future development of this field.
