Over thousands of years,natural bioactive compounds derived from plants(bioactive phytocompounds,BPCs)have been used worldwide to address human health ***,they are a significant resource for drug discovery in the development of modern *** many BPCs have promising biological activities,most of them cannot be effectively utilized in drugs for therapeutic applications because of their inherent limitations of low solubility,structural instability,short half-life,poor bioavailability,and non-specific distribution to *** have utilized emerging nanoformulation(NF)technologies to overcome these limitations as they have demonstrated great potential to improve the solubility,stability,and pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic characteristics of *** review exemplifies NF strategies for resolving the issues associated with BPCs and summarizes recent advances in their preclinical and clinical applications for imaging and *** review also highlights how innovative NF technologies play a leading role in next-generation BPC-based drug development for extended therapeutic ***,this review discusses the opportunities to take BPCs with meaningful clinical impact from bench to bedside and extend the patent life of BPC-based medicines with new formulations or application to new adjacent diseases beyond the primary drug indications.

Enhancing the stability and durability of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)is vital for practical applications because many promising MOF materials suffer from phase transitions and/or structural decompositions with humidity being a particularly damaging *** mechanical engineering,the frame of buildings and furniture can be stabilized significantly by installing a truss *** the same principle,we functionalized the organic component of MOF-5 to contain a carbazole moiety that can act as a molecular truss beam by reaching across the corner and forming a stableπ–πinteraction with a phenyl group on the edge position of the *** structural support enhanced the stability of the MOF substantially,allowing the designed MOF to maintain compositional integrity under steam conditions at 90℃for~5 *** unmodified MOF-5 shows clear signs of structural collapse after~1 h.

BACKGROUND To the best of our knowledge,cases of Kawasaki disease(KD)occurring at the age of 12 are rare,even in Asia where the incidence of KD is *** report a case of lymph-node-first presentation of KD(NFKD)in a 12-year-old girl with Mycoplasma pneumoniae(***)infection who presented with prolonged fever and lymphadenitis refractory to macrolide *** SUMMARY A previously healthy 12-year-old girl presented with fever,myalgia,sore throat,swelling,and tenderness on the right side of the *** was initially diagnosed with lymphadenitis caused by *** refractory to macrolide *** had elevated brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)***,the patient was diagnosed with *** receiving intravenous immunoglobulin,the fever resolved,and her symptoms *** NFKD should be differentiated from adolescent lymphadenitis presenting with prolonged fever by checking the BNP level early.

Low-intensity light detection necessitates high-responsivity *** achieve this,we report In_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As∕In As∕In_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As quantum well(InAs QW)photo-field-effect-transistors(photo-FETs)integrated on a Si substrate using direct wafer *** of the In As QW channel was carefully designed to achieve higher effective mobility and a narrower bandgap compared with a bulk In_(0.53)Ga_(0.47)As,while suppressing the generation of defects due to lattice ***-performance 2.6 nm In As QW photo-FETs were successfully demonstrated with a high on/off ratio of 10~5 and a high effective mobility of 2370 cm^(2)∕(V·s).The outstanding transport characteristics in the InAs QW channel result in an optical responsivity 1.8 times greater than InGaAs photo-FETs and the fast rising/falling ***,we experimentally confirmed that the InAs QW photo-FET can detect light in the short-wavelength infrared(SWIR;1.0–2.5μm)near 2μm thanks to bandgap engineering through In As QW *** result suggests that the InAs QW photo-FET is promising for high-responsivity and extended-range SWIR photodetector applications.

BACKGROUND Clinical factors predicting graft survival(GS)after ABO-incompatible(ABOi)liver transplantation(LT),and differences between recipients with and without hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)are *** To analyze the impact of serial serum tacrolimus trough concentration in recipients with or without(HCC)in ABOi living-donor liver transplantation(LDLT).METHODS We analyzed a historical cohort of 89 recipients who underwent ABOi LDLT,including 47 patients with *** The 1-,3-,5-,and 10-year GS rates were 85.9%,73.3%,71.4%,and 71.4%,respectively,and there were no significant differences between HCC and non-HCC *** multivariate Coxregression analyses,tacrolimus trough concentrations below 5.4 ng/mL at 24 wk post-LT,in addition to the antibody-mediated rejection(AMR)were associated with poor-graft *** HCC patients,AMR[hazard ratio(HR)=63.20,P7.3 ng/mL were significant predictive factors for HCC *** propensity score matching,patients with high tacrolimus concentrations at 4 wk had significantly poor recurrence-free *** Elevated tacrolimus levels at 4 wk after ABOi LDLT have been found to correlate with HCC ***,careful monitoring and control of tacrolimus levels are imperative in ABOi LT recipients with HCC.
