In storage service, data de-duplication is a specialized technique for eliminating duplicate copies of repeating data in storage. Especially, client-side de-duplication has more merits than server-side deduplication since they can improve both the space efficiency and the communication bandwidth. For secure client-side de-duplication, we need a way to prove the ownership of a file to be stored. In the upload step,the server should verify the ownership of a client to give the right of the file without uploading it. On the contrary, the client also want to verify the retrievability for the file since he will delete it from his storage after protocol execution. Existing proof of ownership techniques have been designed for server's need. In this paper, we first point out that we need the second property in client's view point, and give a very simple and practical solution which can support the server and the client to prove that they have the same file. We first describe a generic strategy which can help us to construction a bi-directional and concurrent proof of ownership technique from an ordinary proof of ownership technique, and then give an efficient hash-based scheme with security proof in the random oracle model.

The free vibration characteristics of fluid-filled functionally graded cylindrical shells buried partially in elas- tic foundations are investigated by an analytical method. The elastic foundation of partial axial and angular dimen- sions is represented by the Pasternak model. The motion of the shells is represented by the first-order shear defor- mation theory to account for rotary inertia and transverse shear strains. The functionally graded cylindrical shells are composed of stainless steel and silicon nitride. Material prop- erties vary continuously through the thickness according to a power law distribution in terms of the volume fraction of the constituents. The governing equation is obtained using the Rayleigh-Ritz method and a variation approach. The fluid is described by the classical potential flow theory. Numerical examples are presented and compared with existing available results to validate the present method.

Facial Expression Recognition of Various Internal States via Manifold Learning

Emotions are becoming increasingly important in human-centered interaction architectures. Recognition of facial expressions, which are central to human-computer interactions, seems natural and desirable. However, facial expressions include mixed emotions, continuous rather than discrete, which vary from moment to moment. This paper represents a novel method of recognizing facial expressions of various internal states via manifold learning, to achieve the aim of humancentered interaction studies. A critical review of widely used emotion models is described, then, facial expression features of various internal states via the locally linear embedding （LLE） are extracted. The recognition of facial expressions is created with the pleasure-displeasure and arousal-sleep dimensions in a two-dimensional model of emotion. The recognition result of various internal state expressions that mapped to the embedding space via the LLE algorithm can effectively represent the structural nature of the two-dimensional model of emotion. Therefore our research has established that the relationship between facial expressions of various internal states can be elaborated in the two-dimensional model of emotion, via the locally linear embedding algorithm.

Direct and Indirect Applications of Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma to Catalytic Reduction of Nitrogen Oxides from Exhaust Gas

Dielectric barrier discharge （DBD） plasma was utilized to oxidize NO contained in the exhaust gas to NO2, ultimately improve the selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides （NOx）. In the one case, DBD was created directly in the exhaust gas （direct application）, and in the an other case, ozone produced by DBD was injected into the exhaust gas （indirect application）. A comparative study between such direct and indirect applications of DBD plasma was made in terms of the NOx removal efficiency and the energy consumption. The NO2 content in the exhaust gas was changed by the voltage applied to the DBD device （for direct application） or by the amount of ozone added to the exhaust gas （for indirect application）. In both cases, NO was easily oxidized to NO2, and the change in NO2 content largely affected the NOx removal performance of the catalytic reactor placed downstream, where both NO and NO2 were reduced to N2 in the presence of ammonia as the reducing agent. The experiments were primarily concerned with the effect of reaction temperature on the catalytic NOx reduction at various NO2 contents. The direct and indirect applications of DBD were found to remarkably improve the catalytic NOx reduction, especially at low temperatures.

PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric circuit is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of cold cathode fluorescent lamp(CCFL) driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. A library is configured through modeling and its accuracy is verified through simulations for widely used and representative lamps such as CCFL, fluorescent lamps, HID lamps, and electrodeless fluorescent lamps. On the basis of experiments, a lamp simulation is also performed using PSPICE, which allows us to take advantage of the lamp library easily. Also, PSPICE model driven by an electric equivalent circuit of a piezoelectric transformer is presented. In order to confirm this model to be effective, an independent model of CCFL driving circuit is used to conduct simulations, leading to a precise modeling. In addition, a new type of electronic ballast is proposed, which allows 35 W-class(T5-class) fluorescent lamp to work. This system is built by a rectifier which has improved power factor and half-bridge series resonant inverter. Also, with size of 27.5 mm high, 27.5 mm wide and 2.5 mm thick, the produced piezoelectric transformer has a high step-up ratio, through which it is possible for the electric ballast circuit to be lighter, smaller and more efficient. After the produced ballast is used to drive the fluorescent lamp for 25 min, it yields 0.95 in power factor correction, 86% in efficiency, 35.07 W in output voltage and 20.5 °C in temperature increase while meeting the characteristics of the 35 W-class fluorescent lamp.

Relationships between Pathological Patterns and Vocal Qualities Estimated by Acoustic Parameters

Objective： To examine whether vocal characteristics estimated by acoustic parameters were associated with phlegm, yin deficiency, or cold-heat patterns. Methods： A total of 75 college students （males：females = 53：22） aged 19-24 years were enrolled in this study. Each subject was asked to complete the phlegm pattern questionnaire （PPQ）, yin deficiency questionnaire （YDQ） and cold-heat questionnaire （CHQ）. For the acoustic analysis, each subject was asked to produce a sustained vowel sound （/a/） for 3 s to be used to calculate acoustic parameters. Then, habitual fundamental frequency （F0）, jitter, shimmer, F0 tremor, mean F0, standard deviation of F0, maximum F0, minimum F0, normalized noise energy, harmonic-to-noise ratio, signal-to-noise ratio, amplitude tremor, and power ratio were calculated using the Dr. Speech software. Finally, four hierarchical regression models with pattern questionnaire scores as dependent variables were formed to examine which factors among acoustic parameters, sex, and age were predictive of those pattern scores. Results： PPQ, YDQ, heat, and cold pattern scores all formed significant regression model equations and the adjusted R2 values were 0.281, 0.164, 0.156, and 0.170, respectively. There were aging effects in the PPQ and YDQ models （standardized β =0.199, 0.271, respectively）. Vocal tremor-related Fo tremor and vocal ringing-related power ratio parameters were associated with PPQ and YDQ scores. Gender was directly predictive of PPQ and indirectly moderated the relationship between power ratio and YDQ score. Vocal pitch- related habitual F0 and mean F0 were associated with heat and cold scores. These results indicate that the vocal qualities of phlegm- and yin deficiency-susceptible subjects tend to be ringing and less tremorous, and those of heat- and cold-susceptible subjects tend to be high-pitched. Paleoclimatic changes in the late Quaternary sediments deposited in the East Sea were analyzed by studying diatoms. A total of 95 species belonging to 47 genera were identified from the Core02GHP-02 of the Ulleung Basin in the East Sea, Korea. In the Core 02GHP-02, U-Oki（169–181 cm; 9.3 ka）, AT（464–465.5 cm; 22 ka） and U–Ym（556–559 cm; 33 ka） tephra layers were recognized. The chronological divisions of 02GHP-02 may be correlated with the climatic changes from the glacial interval（730–620 cm; MIS3）, to interstadial（620–500 cm; MIS3）, to the last glacial maximum（500–390 cm; MIS 2）, to the deglaciation（390–290 cm; MIS 2）, to the late glacial（290–190 cm; MIS 1）, and to the Holocene（190–10 cm; MIS 1）. It is speculated that diatoms were rarely found during the glacial interval when the 02GHP-02 core was deposited; during the interstadial（MIS 3） and deglaciation, a mixture of warm-water and cold-water species were found. In particular, Fragilariopsis doliolus seems to have appeared in the East Sea after 8 ka BP. In the lower layers of the Holocene deposits, cold-water species such as Neodenticula seminae were frequently found, while in the upper layers, warm-water species such as Hemidiscus cuneiformis were found in relatively large abundance. Therefore, the findings indicate that the climate became warmer during the transition from the lower layer to the upper layer of the Holocene deposits.

Sex differences in morphology provide key information for understanding a species'morphological adaptations in relation to the evolution of sexual *** migratory birds,morphological traits have adapted to long-distance travel,and sexual dimorphism is typically related to sex-differential migration *** Buntings(Emberiza pusilla)have one of the longest migrations and are the least dichromatic species among the Emberiza *** this study,we measured sexual size dimorphism and sexual dichromatism of Little Buntings in relation to the spring arrival dates at a stopover site in *** length was the most important predictor for identifying sex;the wings of males were longer than those of *** also had a significantly stronger chestnut color of the head feathers than females,but this color difference was more prominent in the spring than in the *** arrived earlier than females by four *** dates correlated with both size and color,but unlike other bunting species previously studied in the same area,there was no clear sex-differential trend in the relationship between arrival date and morphological *** differences in the degree of sexual dichromatism suggest that chestnut plumage coloration can be used as a social or sexual signal of males in the breeding *** correlation of size and color to early arrival regardless of sex may indicate that a preference for assortative mating exists or that a sex-differential migration strategy is not clearly defined in the early stages of northward *** findings on the sexual dimorphism of Little Buntings provide insight into the evolution of the sex-differential migration of buntings in the East Asian Flyway.
