Tungsten and its oxides are highly versatile catalysts with unique properties that hold great promise for a wide array of applications,including biological pathways and chemical *** chemo-catalysis of cellulose to ethanol presents a promising avenue for ethanol synthesis with the potential for enhanced efficiency compared to conventional methods,offering a sustainable and carbon-neutral alternative to existing petrochemical and biological ***,Ir/WOxcatalysts enriched with oxygen vacancies were meticulously prepared and demonstrated remarkable catalytic performance in converting cellulose to ethanol directly in the presence of tungstic *** catalyst achieved a high ethanol yield of 66.5%under optimal reaction conditions,approaching the theoretical yield limit of traditional ethanol *** results revealed the presence of oxygen defects,Bronsted/Lewis acidity,and Ir nanoclusters on the catalyst surface,working synergistically to facilitate the cascade catalysis of cellulose hydrolysis,sugar retro-aldol condensation reaction,and C2 intermediate hydrodeoxygenation to *** situ Fourier transform infrared spectrometer analysis confirmed the catalyst's ability to enhance the adsorption and activation of ethylene glycol for ethanol *** manipulating subtle structural features,this study offers a fresh perspective on tungsten group catalyst design and underscores the importance of synergistic effects among catalytic sites for the efficient production of ethanol from cellulose.

Novel bio-based and biodegradable block copolymers were synthesized by "click" reaction between poly(L-lactide)(PLLA) and polyamide 4(PA4). Upon tuning the molar mass of PLLA block, the properties of copolymers and electrospun ultrafine fibers were investigated and compared with those of PLLA and PA4 blends. PLLA and PA4 were found incompatible and formed individual crystalline regions, along with reciprocal inhibition in crystallization. Electrospun fibers were highly hydrophobic, even if hydrophilic PA4 was the rich component. The crystallinity of either PLLA or PA4 decreased after electrospinning and PLLA-rich as-spun fibers were almost amorphous. Immersion tests proved that fibers of block copolymers were relatively homogeneous with micro-phase separation between PLLA and PA4. The fibrous structures of copolymers were different from those of the fibers electrospun from blends, for which sheath-core structure induced by macro-phase separation between homopolymers of PLLA and PA4 was confirmed by TEM, EDS, and XPS.

Background Saline nasal irrigation is an effective therapy for relieving common cold *** study aimed to investigate and explore the efficacy of physiological seawater nasal irrigation(PSNI)on children with mild and asymptomatic infection with *** This randomized controlled trial was conducted in Shanghai,China,and 403 children with mild and asymptomatic infection with Omicron were *** children were allocated into the PSNI group and the control *** primary outcome was the duration of viral shedding(DVS),and the secondary outcome was the change in clinical *** The median age of all participants was 5.59(6.26)years *** DVS was significantly shorter in the PSNI group[2.40(1.13)]than in the control group[3.09(2.14)](P=0.014).The multivariable Cox regression model also showed that patients in the PSNI group had an increased probability of shorter DVS compared with patients in the control group[hazard ratio(HR),1.27;95%confidence interval(CI),1.04–1.55;P=0.017].Subgroup analysis suggested that the DVS of patients without full vaccination was significantly reduced in the PSNI *** proportions of runny nose and stuffy nose were apparently reduced in the first three days in the PSNI group or the control group,but there was no evidence showing that PSNI contributes to the benefit compared with the control *** PSNI can reduce the DVS of patients with mild and asymptomatic infection with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron BA.2 variant.

The extruded Mg-7Y-1Nd-0.5Zr(wt%)alloy were performed to the same strain hot rolling with different *** microstructure and texture evolution of the sheets were investigated by optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD),and electron back-scattered diffraction(EBSD).The results indicate that the microstructure becomes homogeneous after hot rolling process and precipitated phase distributes at grain boundaries along rolling *** the increase in rolling temperature,the grains of sheet grow *** sheet rolling at 400℃is composed of recrystallization grains,the necklace of the precipitated phase in the grain boundaries and excessive *** structure of necklace of the precipitated phase is fcc structure with lattice constant of a=0.75 *** rolling temperatures increasing from 400 to 450℃,the content of recrystallized grains in volume fraction with relatively random orientations increases *** with the rolling process at 400℃,the amount of precipitated phases is reduced at the grain boundary,and the precipitated phase begins to appear in the grain interior when rolling at 450℃.The structure of the precipitated phase is fcc with lattice constant of a=2.22 *** recrystallization grains begin to grow in the rolling process at 500℃.The basal texture is obviously produced during the rolling process at 400 and 450℃;however,the basal texture is weak in the rolling process at 500℃.

Multilocus genome-wide association study has become the state-of-the-art tool for dissecting the genetic architecture of complex and multiomic ***,most existing multilocus methods require relatively long computational time when analyzing large *** address this issue,in this study,we proposed a fast mrMLM method,namely,best linear unbiased prediction multilocus random-SNP-effect mixed linear model(BLUPmrMLM).First,genome-wide single-marker scanning in mrMLM was replaced by vectorized Wald tests based on the best linear unbiased prediction(BLUP)values of marker effects and their variances in ***,adaptive best subset selection(ABESS)was used to identify potentially associated markers on each chromosome to reduce computational time when estimating marker effects via empirical ***,shared memory and parallel computing schemes were used to reduce the computational *** simulation studies,BLUPmrMLM outperformed GEMMA,EMMAX,mrMLM,and FarmCPU as well as the control method(BLUPmrMLM with ABESS removed),in terms of computational time,power,accuracy for estimating quantitative trait nucleotide positions and effects,false positive rate,false discovery rate,false negative rate,and F1 *** the reanalysis of two large rice datasets,BLUPmrMLM significantly reduced the computational time and identified more previously reported genes,compared with the aforementioned *** study provides an excellent multilocus model method for the analysis of large-scale and multiomic *** software mrMLM v5.1 is available at BioCode(https://***/biocode/tool/BT007388)or GitHub(https://***/yuanmingzhang65/mrMLM).

Based on the open source code OpenFOAM,a three-dimensional model is presented for simulation of the interaction between waves and rubble mound breakwater with armor *** armor units with their real geometries are depicted through computational *** volume-averaged RANS equation and the seepage equation containing nonlinear term are used to describe the percolation in the core and underlayer of the *** independence analysis are carried out,the horizontal and vertical grid size are recommended to take as one-fifteenth of the mean nominal diameter D_(50) of the armor units and one-fifteenth of the wave height *** wave overtopping of rubble mound breakwater with armor units is simulated through the proposed *** results show good agreement between the simulated and measured overtopping discharge rates for different types of armor *** developed numerical model can be used to evaluate the random wave overtopping in design of rubble mound breakwater with artificial armor blocs.

Effects of Al/O on pressure properties of confined explosion from aluminized explosives

Pressure histories were tested in a 500-L chamber to identify the pressure load in confined explosion from aluminized explosives. Different aluminized explosives with Al/O, ranging from 0.25 to 1.23, were used. The recorded pressure curves could express the reflection of initial shock wave and the after burning combustion of aluminum. As there is no objective way to gain quasi-static pressure(P_(QS)),method of multipoint averaging was used in smoothing the original pressure curves to gain the P_(QS). The P_(QS),rising time of pressure(t_(QS)) which stands for the duration of the initial reflected shock wave, and attenuation coefficient(ω) which stands for the supportive effects of the combustion of aluminum to the P_(QS) are used to characterize the pressure load in the confined explosion from aluminized explosives. The research results showed that the Al/O significantly affected the three characteristic quantities. With the increase of Al/O, the P_(QS) increased at first and decreased later, gaining maximum at Al/O=0.99; the t_(QS)sustained growth and the ω decreased at first and increased later, gaining minimum at AI/O=0.99.

Antiferroelectric materials are promising candidates for energy-storage applications due to their double hysteresis loops,which can deliver high power *** the antiferroelectric materials,AgNbO_(3)is proved attractive due to its environmental-friendliness and high potential for achieving excellent energy storage ***,the recoverable energy storage density of AgNbO_(3)ceramics is limited by their relatively low breakdown ***,the breakdown strength of the pure AgNbO_(3)ceramics prepared using the tape casting method is enhanced to 307 kV·cm^(-1),which is,to the best of our knowledge,among the highest values reported for pure AgNbO-3bulk *** high breakdown strength may be due to its dense microstructure and good crystallinity obtained by the tape casting method and the optimized sintering *** to its enhanced breakdown strength,AgNbO_(3)ceramics show high recoverable energy storage density of 2.8 J·cm^(-3).These results have led to the development of lead-free antiferroelectric materials and devices with high energy storage density.

Effect of cold rolling and first precipitates on the coarsening behavior of γ″-phases in Inconel 718 alloy

The coarsening behaviors of γ″-phase particles in Inconel 718 alloy aged at 750, 800, and 850℃ were investigated by scanning electron microscopy（SEM）. Detailed observations and quantitative measurements were conducted to characterize the coarsening behavior of the γ″-phase under various aging conditions. The experimental results indicate that the existence of the δ-phase retards the formation and coarsening of the γ″-phase, without influencing its final particle size or amount. Moreover, when cold rolled with a reduction of 50%, the dimensions of the γ″ particles in Inconel 718 alloy decrease with increasing aging time. Furthermore, the coarsening behavior of the γ″-phase in the Inconel 718 alloy after a normal aging treatment（sample A） and that of the primary δ-phase（sample B） follow the lifshitz–Slyozov–Wagner（LSW） diffusion-controlled growth theory; the thus-obtained activation energies for the γ″-phase are 292 k J·mol^-1 and 302 k J·mol^-1, respectively.
