Spontaneous ignition of corrugated cardboard under dynamic high radiant flux

Understanding the response of solid combustibles under high radiant fluxes is critical in predicting the thermal damage from extreme *** the more moderate radiant fluxes in conventional hydrocarbon fires,extreme events such as strong explosion,concentrated sunlight and directed energy can generate dynamic radiant fluxes at the MW/m^(2) level,creating a unique threat to *** study investigates the pyrolysis and spontaneous ignition behaviors of corrugated cardboard by using both experimental and numerical methods,under 10-cm dynamic high radiant fluxes ranging from 0.2 to 1.25 MW/m^(2) for 10 *** spontaneous ignition process at dynamic high radiant fluxes was recorded and *** ignition modes were found at the critical radiant flux of 0.4 MW/m^(2),namely hot-gas spontaneous ignition and hot-residue piloted *** latter is not the focus of this paper due to its extremely small probability of *** research reveals that the increase in flux intensity induces shorter delay times for both pyrolysis and ignition,lower ignition energy density,along with a corresponding rise in the critical mass flux and surface temperature at ignition *** simulation results are generally aligned with the experimental findings,despite some divergences may be attributed to model simplifications and parameter *** work contributes to a deeper insight into material behavior under extreme radiation,with valuable implications for fire safety and hazard assessment.

Improving flangeability of multiphase steel by increasing microstructural homogeneity

Multiphase microstructure significantly increases the strength,usually at the expense of flangeability because of lacking microstructure *** further improve the strength-flangeability of multiphase steel,the microstructural homogeneity was advanced by adjusting the hard martensite/austenite(M/A)*** strength-flangeability was measured via uniaxial tensile tests and hole expansion *** microstructures were characterized using a scanning electron microscope equipped with an electron backscatter diffraction detector and a transmission electron *** tests were supplementally used to quantitatively reveal the microstructural homogeneity of the *** show that the adjusted multiphase steel achieves an excellent ultimate tensile strength(~800 MPa)and flangeability(~135%hole expansion ratio).A promising homogeneous multiphase microstructure was obtained by controlling undercooled austenite transformed at about 600℃.This microstructure consists of soft polygonal ferrite,blocky bainitic ferrite,and hard M/A *** volume fraction of M/A islands is around 5%,and the average size is less than l *** nanoindentation analysis indicated that the participation of M/A islands impressively influenced the microstructural *** strain partition and better mechanical compatibility were present in the adjusted multiphase steel since the plasticity initiation started late,which resulted in a positive ***,avoiding M/A islands distributed in the chain along the rolling direction on the matrix hindered the possibility of voids coalescing into cracks and stabilized the flanging performance.

Numerical simulation and parameter optimization of Coriolis force scale measurement process based on DEM

The Coriolis force method is a recently developed and highly regarded direct measurement technique that enables high-precision measurement of bulk *** operational parameters and variations thereof directly influence the measurement accuracy of the *** this study,a measurement correction coefficient is introduced to improve the calculation method for mass flow rate of the *** DEM is employed to simulate the motion of particle groups within the Coriolis force scale under different parameters,and the effects of various structural and operational parameters on the measurement results are *** research findings indicate that a lower rotational speed leads to more stable instantaneous measurement results,although the measurement error is relatively *** the rotational speed exceeds 300 rpm,the measurement error remains within 15%.For materials with a radius of 1–2 mm,the variation range of precision error is approximately 0.4%.Among the structural parameters,the radius of the measurement wheel has the most significant impact on the measurement results,wherein a larger measurement wheel radius corresponds to a smaller measurement *** horizontal angle of the blades follows as the next influential parameter,with a clockwise rotation and a horizontal angle of 30°resulting in a measurement error below 2%.

In this study,we reported the discovery and structure-activity relationship analysis of chrysin derivatives as a new class of inhibitors targeting poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase 1(PARP1).Among these derivatives,compound 5d emerged as the most effective chrysin-based inhibitor of PARP1,with an IC50 value of 108 nmol·L^(-1).This compound significantly inhibited the proliferation and migration of breast cancer cell lines HCC-1937 and MDA-MB-436 by inducing DNA ***,5d induced apoptosis and caused an extended G1/S-phase in these cell *** docking studies revealed that 5d possesses a strong binding affinity toward *** vivo,in a xenograft model,5d effectively reduced tumor growth by downregulating PARP1 ***,compound 5d shows promise as a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of BRCA wild-type breast cancer.

A versatile model with three-dimensional triangular lattice for unconventional transport and various topological effects

The finite Berry curvature in topological materials can induce many subtle phenomena, such as the anomalous Hall effect(AHE), spin Hall effect(SHE), anomalous Nernst effect(ANE), non-linear Hall effect(NLHE) and bulk photovoltaic effects. To explore these novel physics as well as their connection and coupling, a precise and effective model should be developed. Here, we propose such a versatile model—a 3D triangular lattice with alternating hopping parameters, which can yield various topological phases,including kagome bands, triply degenerate fermions, double Weyl semimetals and so on. We reveal that this special lattice can present unconventional transport due to its unique topological surface states and the aforementioned topological phenomena, such as AHE, ANE, NLHE and the topological photocurrent effect. In addition, we also provide a number of material candidates that have been synthesized experimentally with this lattice, and discuss two materials, including a non-magnetic triangular system for SHE, NLHE and the shift current, and a ferromagnetic triangular lattice for AHE and ANE. Our work provides an excellent platform, including both the model and materials, for the study of Berry-curvature-related physics.

Convolutional neural network adaptation and optimization method in SIMT computing mode

For studying and optimizing the performance of general-purpose computing on graphics processing units(GPGPU)based on single instruction multiple threads(SIMT)processor about the neural network application,this work contributes a self-developed SIMT processor named Pomelo and correlated assembly *** parallel mechanism of SIMT computing mode and self-developed Pomelo processor is briefly introduced.A common convolutional neural network(CNN)is built to verify the compatibility and functionality of the Pomelo *** computing flow with task level and hardware level optimization is adopted on the Pomelo processor.A specific algorithm for organizing a Z-shaped memory structure is developed,which addresses reducing memory access in mass data computing *** the above-combined adaptation and optimization strategy,the experimental result demonstrates that reducing memory access in SIMT computing mode plays a crucial role in improving performance.A 6.52 times performance is achieved on the 4 processing elements case.

The age of vanadium-based nanozymes: Synthesis, catalytic mechanisms, regulation and biomedical applications

Nanomaterials with enzyme-mimic(nanozyme) activity have garnered considerable attention as a potential alternative to natural enzymes, thanks to their low preparation cost, high activity, ease of preservation, and unique physicochemical properties. Vanadium(V) is a transition metal that integrates the benefits of valence-richness, low cost, and non-toxicity, making it a desirable candidate for developing a range of emerging nanozymes. In this review, we provide the first systematic summary of recent research progress on V-based nanozymes. First, we summarize the preparation of V-based nanozymes using both top-down and bottom-up synthesis methods. Next, we review the mechanism of V-based nanozymes that mimic the activity of various enzymes. We then discuss methods for regulating V-based nanozyme activity, including morphology, size, valence engineering, defect engineering, external triggering, and surface engineering. Afterward, we outline various biomedical applications, including therapeutic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and biosensing. Finally, we prospect the challenges and countermeasures for V-based nanozymes based on their development. By summarizing recent research progress on V-based nanozymes, we hope to provide useful insights for researchers to further explore their potential applications and overcome their existing challenges.

Dark Matter Search in Dwarf Irregular Galaxies with Ten Years of Data from the Ice Cube Neutrino Observatory

Dwarf irregular galaxies(dIrrs),as rotationally supported systems,have more reliable J-factor measurements than dwarf spheroidal galaxies and have received attention as targets for dark matter detection in recent *** this paper,we use 10 yr of IceCube muon-track data and an unbinned maximum-likelihood-ratio method to search for neutrino signals beyond the background from the directions of seven dIrrs,aiming to detect neutrinos produced by heavy annihilation dark *** do not detect any significant *** on such null results,we calculate the upper limits on the velocity-averaged annihilation cross section for 1 TeV–10 PeV dark *** limits,although weaker than the strictest constraints in the literature in this mass range,are also a good complement to the existing results considering the more reliable J-factor measurements of dIrrs.
