The phenomenon of multiphase flow in porous media is confronted in various fields of science and industrial applications. Owing to the complicated porous structure, the flow mechanisms are still not completely resolved. A critical and fundamental question is the variation of pore structure and REV sizes among different types of porous media. In this study, a total of 22 porous samples were employed to systematically evaluate the pore-based architecture and REV sizes based on X-ray CT image analysis and pore network modelling. It is found that the irregular grain shapes give rise to large specific areas,narrow and thin throats in identical sand packs. The packs with more types of sands, or composited by the sands with larger difference in diameter, have larger specific area, smaller tortuosity and pore *** on the REV measurement through porosity solely, the REV sizes of sand packs are generally in the order of magnitude of 10^(-2) m L, while it is at least one order of magnitude smaller in rock cores. Our result indicates that the combination of porosity and Euler number is an effective indicator to get the REV sizes of porous samples.

By using polybutene-1 as a typical example, we illustrate the initiation, development and stabilization of cavities in the sample during tensile deformation. Samples with the same crystallinity, long spacing and crystalline lamellar thickness but very different sizes of spherulites were prepared via changing the melt history. Dimension of cavities during stretching the samples was determined by in situ ultra small angle X-ray scattering techniques. It turned out that the size of the cavities was bigger in the sample with larger spherulites than the one with smaller spherulites. The results show clear evidence of initiating cavities within crystalline phase at the grain-boundary of crystalline blocks, growing of cavities passing through parallel stacked lamellar crystals and amorphous layers and finally stablized by tilted lamellae at both ends of the plate-like cavities within the spherulites.

With dimethylamine as a template, a new one-dimensional zincophosphite （C2H8N）·[Zn（HPO3）（H2PO3）] was prepared under hydrothermal conditions and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectrametry, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis. The compound crystallized in the Monoclinic space group P2（1）/c, with cell parameters, a=0.78410（9） nm, b=1.54744（2） nm, c=0.81418（1） nm, β=105.8150（1）°, V=0.95049（2） nm3 and Z=4. The connectivity of the ZnO4 tetrahedron and HPO3 pseudo pyramid resulted in inifinite corner-sharing 4-membered ring chains, which were further linked by the protonated amine molecules to form a 3D structure via hydrogen bonds. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first existence of a zincophosphite with the anionic framework composition of [Zn（HPO3）（H2PO3）]-. The compound exhibits intense photoluminescence at room temperature.

Gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs) are considered to be one most promising alternative to liquid electrolytes due to their suitability for creating safe and durable solid-state lithium-metal batteries. However, the mechanical properties of GPEs usually deteriorate dramatically when polymer matrices are plasticized by a liquid electrolyte, which leads to significant loss of battery performance. Therefore, the long-term structural integrity and good mechanical strength are critical characteristics of GPEs designed for highperformance batteries. Here, an ecologically compatible cellulose-based GPE with a crosslinked structure is synthesized via a facile and effective thiol-ene click chemistry method. The prepared thiol-ene crosslinked GPE possesses enhanced mechanical strength(10.95 MPa) and rigid structure, which enabled us to fabricate Li Fe PO_(4)|Li batteries with ultra-long cycling performance. The capacity retention of the crosslinked cellulose-based GPE can be up to 84% at 0.5 C, even after 350 cycles, which is considerably higher than that of non-crosslinked GPE for which rapid decline in capacity occurs after 200 cycles. In addition, a GPE preparation method described in this work compares favorably well with existing commercial electrolytes for lithium metal batteries.

The microstructure and room-temperature tensile properties of Ti14,a new α＋Ti2Cu alloy,were investigated after conventional forging at 950°C and semi-solid forging at 1000 and 1050°C,*** show that coarse grains and grain boundaries are obtained in the semi-solid *** coarse grain boundaries are attributed to Ti2Cu phase precipitations occurred on the grain boundaries during the *** is found that more Ti2Cu phase precipitates on the grain boundaries at a higher semi-solid forging temperature,which forms precipitated zones and coarsens the grain *** tests exhibit high strength and low ductility for the semi-solid forged alloys,especially after forging at 1000°*** analysis reveals the evidence of ductile failure mechanisms for the conventional forged alloy and cleavage fracture mechanisms for the alloy after semi-solid forging at 1050°C.

Embolic Effects of Bletilla striata Microspheres in Renal Artery and Transplanted VX2 Liver Tumor Model in Rabbits

Objective: To evaluate the characteristics of Bletilla striata microspheres(BSMs) and its effects as an embolic agent in a rabbit model. Methods: BSMs were prepared with an emulsi?cation-cool condensation-chemical cross-linking method. The characteristics of BSMs in vitro were observed. Embolization experiments were performed in renal artery of rabbit and in a rabbit liver VX2 carcinoma model. Seventy-two New Zealand rabbits were divided into 2 groups, and the right renal artery was embolized with BSMs(200 μm in diameter) in the experimental group and with polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) of the same size in the control group. The pathological findings were examined with hematoxylin-eosin and Masson stainings. Liver and renal functions were tested before and after ***2 tumor was transplanted in 15 New Zealand rabbits, which were randomly divided into 3 groups(n=5). Group A were treated with saline, group B with a mixture of doxorubicin and lipiodol, and group C with hepatic arterial infusion of BSMs(200 μm in diameter). Tumor growth rate was evaluated by magnetic resonance imaging ***-related factors(bax, bcl-2) and tumor vascular endothelial cell growth factor(VEGF) were evaluated through immunohistochemical staining. Results: The characteristics of BSMs in vitro were in full compliance with the requirements for use in interventional procedures. In the renal artery embolization experiment, after BSMs intervention, it was more dif?cult to form collateral circulation than that with PVAs, and the kidney manifested atrophy and calci?cation. There were no signi?cant difference of liver and renal functions in rabbits between groups. In the liver VX2 carcinoma embolization experiment, compared with group A, the growth rate of VX2 liver tumor and Bcl-2 levels was reduced, while apoptosis index, Bax, and VEGF were increased in group B(P0.05). In China, the abuse of chemical nitrogen （N） fertilizer results in decreasing N use efficiency （NUE）, wasting resources and causing serious environmental problems. Cereal-legume intercropping is widely used to enhance crop yield and improve resource use efficiency, especially in Southwest China. To optimize N utilization and increase grain yield, we conducted a two-year field experiment with single-factor randomized block designs of a maize-soybean intercropping system （IMS）. Three N rates, NN （no nitrogen application）, LN （lower N application： 270 kg N ha-1）, and CN （conventional N application： 330 kg N ha-1）, and three topdressing distances of LN （LND）, e.g., 15 cm （LND1）, 30 cm （LND2） and 45 cm （LND3） from maize rows were evaluated. At the beginning seed stage （R5）, the leghemoglobin content and nitrogenase activity of LND3 were 1.86 mg plant-1 and 0.14 mL h-1 plant-1, and those of LND1 and LND2 were increased by 31.4 and 24.5%, 6.4 and 32.9% compared with LND3, respectively. The ureide content and N accumulation of soybean organs in LND1 and LND2 were higher than those of LND3. The N uptake, NUE and N agronomy efficiency （NAE） of IMS under CN were 308.3 kg ha-1, 28.5%, and 5.7 kg grain kg-1 N, respectively; however, those of LN were significantly increased by 12.4, 72.5, and 51.6% compared with CN, respectively. The total yield in LND1 and LND2 was increased by 12.3 and 8.3% compared with CN, respectively. Those results suggested that LN with distances of 15-30 cm from the topdressing strip to the maize row was optimal in maize-soybean intercropping. Lower N input with an optimized fertilization location for IMS increased N fixation and N use efficiency without decreasing grain yield.
