Structure prediction, electronic, and mechanical properties of alkali metal MB_(12)(=Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) from first principles

Using the particle swarm optimization algorithm on structural search methods, we focus our crystal structures search on boron-rich alkali metal compounds of MB_(12)(M = Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) with simulation cell sizes of 1–2 formula units(f.u.)at 0 GPa. The structure, electronic, and mechanical properties of MB_(12) are obtained from the density functional theory using the plane-wave pseudopotential method within the generalized gradient approximations. The formation enthalpies of MB_(12) regarding to solid metal M and solid alpha-boron suggested the predicted structures can be synthesized except for BeB12. The calculated band structures show MB_(12)(M = Be, Mg, Ca, Sr) are all indirect semiconductors. All the calculated elastic constants of MB_(12) satisfy the the mechanical stable conditions. The mechanical parameters(i.e., bulk modulus,shear modulus, and Young’s modulus) are derived using the Voigt–Reuss–Hill method. The G/B ratios indicated that the MB_(12) should exhibit brittle behavior. In addition, the hardness, Debye temperature, universal anisotropic index, and the percentage of anisotropy in compression and shear are also discussed in detail. We hope our results can inspire further experimental study on these boron-rich alkali-metal compounds.

BACKGROUND Myopia,as one of the common ocular diseases,often occurs in *** addition to the harm from itself,it may also lead to serious ***,prevention and control of myopia are attracting more and more *** research revealed that single-focal glasses and orthokeratology lenses(OK lenses)played an important part in slowing down myopia and preventing high *** To compare the clinical effects of OK lenses and frame glasses against the increase of diopter in adolescent myopia and further explore the mechanism of the OK *** Changes in diopter and axial length were collected among 70 adolescent myopia patients(124 eyes)wearing OK lenses for 1 year(group A)and 59 adolescent myopia patients(113 eyes)wearing frame glasses(group B).Refractive states of their retina were inspected through multispectral refraction *** obtained hyperopic defocus was analyzed for the mechanism of OK lenses on slowing down the increase of myopic diopter by delaying the increase of ocular axis length and reducing the near hyperopia *** Teenagers in groups A and B were divided into low myopia(0 D--3.00 D)and moderate myopia(-3.25 D--6.00 D),without statistical differences among gender and *** 1-year treatment,the increase of diopter and axis length and changes of retinal hyperopic defocus amount of group A were significantly less than those of group *** to the multiple linear analysis,the retinal defocus in the upper,lower,nasal,and temporal directions had almost the same effect on the total *** amount of peripheral retinal defocus(15°-53°)in group A was significantly lower than that in group *** Multispectral refraction topography is progressive and instructive in clinical prevention and control of myopia.

BACKGROUND: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive method of solid tissue ablation therapy. However, only a few studies have reported the effect of HIFU for unresectable pancreatic cancer. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical benefits, survival time and complications associated with the use of HIFU ablation in patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer. METHODS: Twenty-five patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer were enrolled in our study. All patients received HIFU therapy for tumors at least once. The therapeutic effects of HIFU was evaluated in terms of Karnofsky performance status (KPS) scores, pain relief, serum CA19-9, and imaging by B-US and CT before and after the therapy. We also recorded median overall survival time and complications caused by the treatment. RESULTS: In the 25 patients, KPS scores were above 60, and increased KPS was observed in 23 patients after treatment. Pain relief occurred in 23 patients. Serum CA19-9 levels were significantly reduced one month after HIFU treatment and became negative in 5 patients. B-US revealed enhanced tumor echogenicity in 13 patients and decreased tumor blood supply in 9. Tumor necrosis was confirmed by CT in 8 patients one month after HIFU treatment. The median overall survival time was 10 months, and the 1-year survival rate was 42%. No severe complications were observed after HIFU treatment. CONCLUSION: HIFU can effectively relieve pain, increase KPS, decrease tumor growth and prolong the survival time of patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer.

随着近地高光谱遥感技术的发展,为快速、有效、非破坏性地获取土壤有机质(SOM)信息提供了可能。土壤高光谱波段数据众多,光谱数据变量之间存在较为严重的多重共线性,影响模型复杂结构,而构建归一化光谱指数(NDSI)可以有效去除冗余信息变量,放大光谱特征信息。以江汉平原公安县为研究区,采集56份耕层土样,在室内获取土壤光谱数据,采用"重铬酸钾-外加热法"测定SOM含量,对实测土壤光谱数据(Raw)进行倒数之对数(LR)、一阶微分(FDR)和连续统去除(CR)三种变换,计算四种变换的NDSI数值,分析SOM与NDSI的二维相关性,并对一维、二维相关系数进行全波段范围内的p=0.001水平上显著性检验,提取敏感波段和敏感光谱指数,结合偏最小二乘回归(PLSR)建立SOM的估算模型,探讨二维光谱指数用于建模的可行性。研究表明,二维相关系数相比一维相关系数有不同程度的提升,以LR最为显著,相关系数数值提升约0.26;基于二维相关性分析提取的敏感光谱指数的PLSR建模效果整体优于一维相关性分析提取的敏感波段,其中,NDSILR-PLSR模型的稳健性最优,验证集R2为0.82,模型验证RPD值为2.46,模型稳定可靠,可以满足SOM的精确监测需要,适合推广到区域范围内低分辨率的航空航天遥感(如ASTER,Landsat TM等),应用潜力较大。

Liver transplantation is hindered by organ shortage. The potential way to relieve this issue is to expand the donor pool via extending the donor criteria and make full use of all available grafts. The concept of “no-donor” liver transplantation allows grafts to be recovered from other liver recipients. This review summarizes the current clinical practice of “no-donor” liver transplantation, focusing on the experiences of Chinese transplant teams. Domino liver transplantation was introduced by Furtado in 1995 and implemented later in 2013 in China, and novel donor indications including some essential-to-treat inherited metabolic liver-based diseases have emerged. The concept of cross-auxiliary domino liver transplantation brings a further expansion of the domino liver graft pool, and the first pair of liver transplantation performed “rigorously without donation” was accomplished in our center in 2018. Our experience with this original transplantation procedure is hereby reviewed. In order to further promote and make successful “no-donor” liver transplantation, close co-operation between researchers, surgeons, physicians, organ procurement organizations, as well as ethical committees is required.

The mutualistic symbiotic system formed by clumping arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)and plants can remediate heavy metal-contaminated ***,the specific mechanisms underlying the interaction between AMF and inter-root microbial communities,particularly their impact on organic phosphorus(P)cycling,remain *** study investigated the gene regulation processes involved in inter-root soil phosphorus cycling in wetland plants,specifically Iris tectorum,following inoculation with AMF under varying concentrations of chromium(Cr)*** macro-genome sequencing,we analyzed the composition and structure of the inter-root soil microbial community associated with Iris tectorum under greenhouse pot *** results demonstrated significant changes in the diversity and composition of the inter-root soil microbial community following AMF inoculation,with Proteobacteria,Actinobacteria,Chloroflexi,Acidobacteria,and Bacteroidetes being the dominant *** Cr stress,species and gene co-occurrence network analysis revealed that AMF promoted the transformation process of organic phosphorus mineralization and facilitated inorganic phosphorus ***,network analysis of functional genes indicated strong aggregation of(pstS,pstA,pstC,***,phoR,pp-gppA)genes,which collectively enhanced phosphorus uptake by *** findings shed light on the inter-root soil phosphorus cycling process during the co-remediation of Cr-contaminated soil by AMF-Iris tectorum symbiosis,providing valuable theoretical support for the application of AMF-wetland plant symbiosis systems to remediate heavy metal-contaminated soil.

Software security poses substantial risks to our society because software has become part of our life. Numerous techniques have been proposed to resolve or mitigate the impact of software security issues. Among them, software testing and analysis are two of the critical methods, which significantly benefit from the advancements in deep learning technologies. Due to the successful use of deep learning in software security, recently,researchers have explored the potential of using large language models(LLMs) in this area. In this paper, we systematically review the results focusing on LLMs in software security. We analyze the topics of fuzzing, unit test, program repair, bug reproduction, data-driven bug detection, and bug triage. We deconstruct these techniques into several stages and analyze how LLMs can be used in the stages. We also discuss the future directions of using LLMs in software security, including the future directions for the existing use of LLMs and extensions from conventional deep learning research.

Rice is one of the most important food crops and feeds more than half of the world’s population [1]. Arthropod-borne rice viruses have caused devastating epidemics in Asian countries and are a major threat to food security [2]. However,lile is known about the vulnerability of rice crops to viral pathogens [3,4], especially southern rice black-streaked dwarf virus (SRBSDV), rice black-streaked dwarf virus (RBSDV) and rice gall dwarf virus (RGDV), known to induce annual outbreaks by insect transmission in some localities in Asia.
