Appendicitis combined with Meckel’s diverticulum obstruction, perforation, and inflammation in children: Three case reports

AIM： To explore the expression of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome ten （PTEN） in liver of athymic mice with hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） and the effect of Fuzheng Jiedu Decoction （FJD）. METHODS： Forty eight male BALB/c athymic mice models were built by Bel-7402 with an indirect method. After 24 h of postoperation, the 48 athymic mice were distributed randomly into 4 groups： A, B, C, D, each group had 12 athymic mice. Group A were were treated by intragastric administration with FT207 （Tegafur） for 4 wk. Group B, C and D were treated by intragastric administration with FJD （complex prescription of Chinese crude drug） that had been delegated into 3 kinds of density as the low, middle, and high for 4 wk. At last, athymic mice were put to death, live time, volume of tumors, exponent of tumors and the tumor metastasis in livers were observed; and PTEN was detected in hepatic tissue, latero-cancer tissue and cancer tissue by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS： Four weeks later, the total survival rate in treatment group （A ＋ B ＋ C） was 50% and higher than the control group （0%） treated by FT207, （P 〈 0.01）. The survival rate in group A, B, C was higher than in group D, and except group A with D, there was significant differentces （Fisher＇s Exact Test P = 0.05 or 0.01）. And no differences were observed between the treatment groups and the control group in volume of tumors and exponent of tumors （P 〉 0.05）. Tumor metastasis in livers of the treatment group was less than the controls （Fisher＇s Exact Test, P = 0.021）. The result of immunohistochemistry showed that the intensity of PTEN in latero-cancer tissue was the highest, and then the hepatic tissue, the lowest was cancer tissue （Kruskal- Wallis test, X^2 = 60.67, P = 0.000）. It also showed that the intensity of PTEN in treatment groups （A, B, C） was higher than the control group （D）（F = 5.90, P = 0.002 in hepatic tissue and F = 15.99, P = 0.000 in latero-cancer tissue and X^2 = 26.08, P = 0.000 in cance

In this article,by studying the Bernstein degrees and Goldie rank polynomials,we es-tablish a comparison between the irreducible representations of G=GL_(n)(C)possessing the minimal Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and those induced from finite-dimensional representations of the maximal parabolic subgroup of G of type(n-1,1).We give the transition matrix between the two bases for the corresponding coherent families.

Modeling urban scale human mobility through big data analysis and machinelearning

In the United States,the buildings sector consumes about 76%of electricity use and 40% of all primary energy use and associated greenhouse gas *** behavior has drawn increasing research interests due to its impacts on the building energy ***,occupant behavior study at urban scale remains a challenge,and very limited studies have been *** an effort to couple big data analysis with human mobility modeling,this study has explored urban scale human mobility utilizing three months Global Positioning System(GPS)data of 93,o00 users at Phoenix Metropolitan *** research extracted stay points from raw data,and identified users'home,work,and other locations by Density-Based Spatial Clustering ***,daily mobility patterns were constructed using different types of *** propose a novel approach to predict urban scale daily human mobility patterns with 12-hour prediction horizon,using Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)neural network *** shows the developed models achieved around 85%average accuracy and about 86%mean *** developed models can be further applied to analyze urban scale occupant behavior,building energy demand and flexibility,and contributed to urban planning.

Copper-coated Porous Polyimide as Ultralight and Safe Current Collectors for Advanced LIBs

Metallic copper is widely used as current collector(CC) for graphite anode of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs) due to its high electrical conductivity and electrochemical stability. However, the large volume density of commercial copper foil(~8.9 g·cm^(-3)) limits the increase of energy density of battery. Here, copper-coated porous polyimide(Cu@PPI) was prepared by vacuum evaporation as collector for the graphite anode. The sandwich structure connects the copper metal on both sides of the collector with excellent electrical conductivity. Compared to commercial Cu foil, Cu@PPI has lighter mass(≤3.9 mg for disc of 12 mm diameter versus 9.9 mg of ~10 μm Cu foil) and lower volume density(≤3.3 g·cm^(-3)). In addition, the porous structure allows of better adhesion of reactive substances and electrochemical properties than pure Cu foils. It is estimated that the energy density of Cu@PPI should be much higher than that of Cu foil. This strategy should be applicable for other current collectors.

Manufacturing thin-film components is crucial for achieving high-efficiency and high-power thermal batteries (TBs).However,developing binders with low-gas production at the operating temperature range of TBs (400-550℃)has proven to be a significant ***,we report the use of acrylic acid derivative terpolymer (LA136D) as a low-volatile binder for thin-film cathode fabrication and studied the chain scission and chemical bondbreaking mechanisms in pyrolysis.

Sensitivity impacts owing to the variations in the type of zero-range pairing forces on the fission properties using the density functional theory

Using the Skyrme density functional theory,potential energy surfaces of^(240)Pu with constraints on the axial quadrupole and octupole deformations(q_(20)and q_(30))were *** volume-like and surface-like pairing forces,as well as a combination of these two forces,were used for the Hartree–Fock–Bogoliubov *** in the least-energy fission path,fission barrier,pairing energy,total kinetic energy,scission line,and mass distribution of the fission fragments based on the different forms of the pairing forces were analyzed and *** fission dynamics were studied based on the timedependent generator coordinate method plus the Gaussian overlap *** results demonstrated a sensitivity of the mass and charge distributions of the fission fragments on the form of the pairing *** on the investigation of the neutron-induced fission of^(239)Pu,among the volume,mixed,and surface pairing forces,the mixed pairing force presented a good reproduction of the experimental data.

Photocatalytic water splitting has emerged as a new frontier for converting solar energy to green H_(2) and value-added ***,great challenges still remain for developing efficient photocatalysts for pure water splitting without sacrificial *** this work,we demonstrate that doping hexagonal ZnIn_(2)S_(4)(ZIS) with Pd single atoms(Pd_(0.03)/ZIS) can serve as a highly efficient photocatalyst for pure water splitting to simultaneously produce H_(2) and H_(2)O_(2) without any sacrificial *** from aberration-corrected high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy,X-ray fine spectroscopy,insitu electron paramagnetic resonance and diffuse Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy reveal that doping ZIS with Pd single atoms facilitates the formation of S vacancies(S_(v)),where the photogenerated electrons can transfer to Pd single atoms,as a result of enhanced separation of electron-hole pairs and improved photocatalytic ***,Pd_(0.03)/ZIS displays a stoichiometric ratio of H_(2) and H_(2)O_(2) with the productivity of 1,037.9 and 1,021.4μmol g^(-1)h^(-1),respectively,which has largely outperformed pure ZIS and other reported catalysts for pure water *** work provides an efficient photocatalyst for water splitting to produce H_(2) and H_(2)O_(2),which may attract rapid interest in materials science,chemistry,and heterogeneous catalysis.

Influence of pore structure heterogeneity on channeling channels during hot water flooding in heavy oil reservoir based on CT scanning

Hot water flooding is an effective way to develop heavy oil reservoirs. However, local channeling channels may form, possibly leading to a low thermal utilization efficiency and high water cut in the reservoir. The pore structure heterogeneity is an important factor in forming these channels. This study proposes a method that mixes quartz sand with different particle sizes to prepare weakly heterogeneous and strongly heterogeneous models through which hot water flooding experiments are *** the experiments, computer tomography(CT) scanning identifies the pore structure and micro remaining oil saturation distribution to analyze the influence of the pore structure heterogeneity on the channeling channels. The oil saturation reduction and average pore size are divided into three levels to quantitatively describe the relationship between the channeling channel distribution and pore structure heterogeneity. The zone where oil saturation reduction exceeds 20% is defined as a channeling *** scanning area is divided into 180 equally sized zones based on the CT scanning images, and threedimensional(3D) distributions of the channeling channels are developed. Four micro remaining oil distribution patterns are proposed, and the morphology characteristics of micro remaining oil inside and outside the channeling channels are analyzed. The results show that hot water flooding is more balanced in the weakly heterogeneous model, and the oil saturation decreases by more than 20% in most zones without narrow channeling channels forming. In the strongly heterogeneous model, hot water flooding is unbalanced, and three narrow channeling channels of different lengths form. In the weakly heterogeneous model, the oil saturation reduction is greater in zones with larger pores. The distribution range of the average pore size is larger in the strongly heterogeneous model. The network remaining oil inside the channeling channels is less than outside the channeling channels,

Relation Between the Eventual Continuity and the E-property for Markov-Feller Semigroups

We investigate some relations between two kinds of semigroup regularities, namely the e-property and the eventual continuity, both of which contribute to the ergodicity for Markov processes on Polish *** precisely, we prove that for Markov-Feller semigroup in discrete time and stochastically continuous MarkovFeller semigroup in continuous time, if there exists an ergodic measure whose support has a nonempty interior,then the e-property is satisfied on the interior of the support. In particular, it implies that, restricted on the support of each ergodic measure, the e-property and the eventual continuity are equivalent for the discrete-time and the stochastically continuous continuous-time Markov-Feller semigroups.
