Associations of non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol with metabolic syndrome and its components in Korean children and adolescents: the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys 2008–2014

Background In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between single-gender Korean references for non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (non-HDL-C) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) in childhood. Methods A total of 5742 Korean children aged 10–18 years who participated in a national survey were included. The sub-jects were classified into three groups based on single-gender non-HDL-C levels as follows: <120 mg/dL (desirable), ≥120 and <150 mg/dL (borderline high), and ≥150 mg/dL (high). Results Males in the borderline high non-HDL-C group had odds ratios (ORs) of 2.86 (95% confidence interval, 2.30–3.56) for elevated triglycerides (TG), 1.73 (1.08–1.79) for reduced high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and 1.73 (1.08–2.78) for MetS compared with males in the desirable non-HDL-C group after adjusting for covariates. Males in the high non-HDL-C group had ORs of 1.65 (1.14–2.41) for elevated blood pressure (BP), 6.21 (4.27–9.05) for elevated TG, and 3.29 (1.49–7.26) for MetS compared with males in the desirable non-HDL-C group. Females in the borderline high non-HDL-C group had ORs of 3.03 (2.43–3.76) for elevated TG, 1.63 (1.13–2.35) for reduced HDL-C, and 4.53 (2.47–8.31) for MetS compared with females in the desirable non-HDL-C group. Females in the high non-HDL-C group had ORs of 1.43 (1.00–2.04) for elevated BP, 6.36 (4.45–9.08) for elevated TG, and 7.64 (3.65–15.96) for MetS compared with females in the desirable non-HDL-C group. Conclusion Our results suggest that, in a Korean population, a non-HDL-C level of 120 mg/dL for males and 150 mg/dL for females is the threshold between borderline high and high risk for MetS.

Thermal fatigue test has been carried out on widely used hot work steel 4Cr5MoSiV1 and a low alloyed steel 3Cr3MoV in temperature range of 200 to 700 ℃. Tempering resistance, as well as high temperature hardness/ strength of steel specimens, works as a dominating material parameter on thermal fatigue resistance. During the heating period, high hardness can depress the inelastic deformation. This deformation is the origination of tensile stress, which acts as the driving [orce o{ heat checking during the cooling period. The cyclic strain-oxidation interac- tion can speed up the damage on surface defects, which plays an obvious role in initiation of thermal cracks. On 4CrSMoSiV1 steel specimens, borders between the matrix and inclusions such as titanium compounds, or lager car- bides such as primary carbides, are focused by strain and attacked by oxidation, and are main initiating places of cracks. While on 3Cr3MoV steel specimens, larger strain causes plastic deformation concentrating around grain boundaries. Then the following oxidation accelerates this grain boundary damage and creates cracks.

Sm/TiCl4 system could well integrate the high reactivity of samarium（Ⅱ） and high deoxygenation capacity of low valent titanium within one system. In this paper, the intermolecular and intramolecular reductive coupling reactions of ketones with esters mediated by metallic samarium （Sm） and a catalytic amount of titanium tetrachloride （TiCl4） were successfully developed. A series of substituted ketones and cyclic β-keto-esters were prepared in moderate to good yields under reflux and neutral conditions.

Postherpetic neuralgia(PHN) is a severe sequela of herpes zoster(HZ).Until now,only age and pain severity were considered predisposing factors for the development of *** evaluated 49 patients with acute phase HZ,10 of whom developed PHN(Group A) and 39 of whom did not develop PHN(Group B).Twenty-five healthy volunteers similar in age and gender distribution to the study group were recruited as controls(Group C).Numbers of serum CD3+(pan-T lymphocytes),CD4+(helper/inducer),and CD8+(suppressor/cytotoxic) lymphocytes were decreased significantly in Groups A and B relative to the control group,but there were no statistical differences between Groups A and ***(IL)-1β,IL-6,tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,IL-8,and IL-10 were significantly elevated in Groups A and B relative to Group ***-6 was significantly higher in Group A than in Group B,and was significantly positively correlated with pain severity scored on a visual analog ***,we suggest that the inflammatory response,especially that of IL-6,in the acute phase of HZ may be associated with hyperalgesia and the development of PHN.

Tempering Process to Improve Hardness Uniformity of Plastic Mould Steel

A new design of copper-bearing non-quenched plastic mold steel is presented and explained. Two kinds of microstrueture can be obtained from this new type copper-bearing steel via cooling with different cooling rates, bain- ite and a mixed microstructure consisting of ferrite and bainite. It is found that, after proper tempering process, the hardness will be increased. Moreover, the hardness difference between different microstructures will be reduced. For further investigation, the samples tempered at different temperatures were examined by XRD and 3PAP （three di- mensional atom probe） analysis. Results show that the improvement is contributed mainly by the precipitation of Cu phase and transformation of residual austenite.

A production planning system is designed for the whole steelmaking process, which includes desulfurization, vanadium extraction, steelmaking and continuous casting processes of Panzhihua Iron and Steel Corporation. The system is composed of modeling module, data interface module, data analysis module, static planning module, re-planning module, plan evaluation module, plan simulation module and human-computer interaction module. The system is connected with the L3 system of steel plant by using the data interface module, which can receive the real time scheduling information to make the static plan and re-plan under production disturbances. The simulation and plan evaluation function of the system can assist decision-maker to check and modify the production plan. The simulation experiments with real process data show that the system can make a feasible, executable, and effective production plan, and deal with primary random disturbances during production process timely.

Influence of plasma peening on oxidation of H13 hot work steel in water vapor

The surface oxidation films on H13 steel samples, obtained by different oxidation processes were observed by optical microscope. It is shown that the oxidation speed of H13 steel is increased remarkably due to the surface modification of plasma peening. Further researches were made by XRD, SEM and EDS. The activation of H13 surface caused by plasma peening and the subsequent higher oxygen diffusion rate into the steel seem to be the main reasons of higher oxidation speed. The nitride layer, generally formed on the steel surface under plasma nitriding process, can be substituted by oxide in subsequent oxidation process, which can reduce the risk of heat cracking in some hot work applications. Therefore, the plasma nitriding plus oxidation process is a proper choice for some hot work dies, which demands high hardness to avoid indentation as well as high toughness to avoid cracks.

In practical power systems,operators generally keep interface flowing under the transient stability constrained with interface real power flow limits(TS-IRPFL)to guarantee transient stability of the *** methods of computing TS-IRPFL have been ***,in practice,the method widely used to determine TS-IRPFL is based on selection and analysis of typical scenarios as well as scenario ***,typical scenarios are selected and analyzed to obtain accurate limits,then the scenario to be analyzed is matched with a certain typical scenario,whose limit is adopted as the forecast *** this paper,following the steps described above,a pragmatic method to determine TS-IRPFL is *** proposed method utilizes data-driven tools to improve the steps of scenario selection and *** of all,we formulate a clear model of power system scenario *** on the similarity model,we develop a typical scenario selector by clustering and a scenario matcher by nearest neighbor *** proposed method is pragmatic because it does not change the existing ***,it is much more reasonable than the traditional *** results verify the validity of the method.
