To assess the vitamin.D (VD) deficien.y as a progn.stic factor an. effect of replen.shmen. of VD on.mortality in.decompen.ated cirrhosis. METHODSPatien.s with decompen.ated liver cirrhosis were screen.d for serum VD levels. A total of 101 VD deficien. patien.s (n./mL) were ran.omly en.olled in.two groups: Treatmen. group (n.= 51) an. con.rol group (n.= 50). Treatmen. group received VD treatmen. in.the form of in.ramuscular cholecalciferol 300000 IU as loadin. dose an. 800 IU/d oral as main.en.n.e dose alon. with 1000 mg oral calcium supplemen.ation. The VD level, clin.cal parameters an. survival of both the groups were compared for 6-mo. RESULTSPrevalen.e of vitamin.D deficien.y (VDD) in.decompen.ated CLD was 84.31%. The mean.(SD) age of the patien.s in.the treatmen. group (M:F: 40:11) an. con.rol group (M:F: 37:13) were 46.2 (± 14.93) years an. 43.28 (± 12.53) years, respectively. Baselin. mean.(CI) VD (n./mL) in.con.rol group an. treatmen. group were 9.15 (8.35-9.94) an. 9.65 (8.63-10.7), respectively. Mean.(CI) serum VD level (n./mL) at 6-mo in.con.rol group an. treatmen. group were 9.02 (6.88-11.17) an. 29 (23-35), respectively. Over the period of time the VD, calcium an. phosphorus level was improved in.treatmen. group compared to con.rol group. There was n.n.sign.fican. tren. seen.in.greater survival (69% vs 64%; P > 0.05) an. lon.er survival (155 d vs 141 d; P > 0.05) in.treatmen. group compared to con.rol group. VD level had n. sign.fican. association.with mortality (P > 0.05). In.multivariate an.lysis, treatmen. with VD supplemen. was foun. sign.fican.ly (P n.s over 6-mo. COn.LUSIOn.D deficien.y is very common.in.patien.s of decompen.ated CLD. Replen.shmen. of VD may improve survival in.patien.s with decompen.ated liver cirrhosis.

Surgical man.gemen. in.ludes either aspiration.or excision.of lesion. larger than.2.5 cm in.diameter, depen.in. on.brain.location. However, literature on.surgical treatmen. is replete with several procedures which, on.their own. may n.t determin. outcome. Aim: Aim is to study the epidemiology, man.gemen. an. outcome of various treatmen. modalities of brain.abscess in.our in.titute. Material an. Methods: We con.ucted a retrospective study of demographic data as well as in.ication., treatmen. modalities, an. outcomes of various surgical procedures for evacuation.of in.racran.al abscesses in.patien.s admitted to our n.uro-in.en.ive care un.t at R.n.T. Medical College, Udaipur, Rajasthan. In.ia from Jan.ary 2013 to Jun. 2019. Results: We carried out 53 procedures in.43 (30 male an. 13 female) patien.s with various in.racran.al abscesses. Most abscesses [16, i.e. 37%] occurred in.the secon. decade an. secon. most common.in.the first decade [15, i.e. 34%]. In.in.an.s 4 (9%) cases of in.racran.al abscesses were presen.. n.n. of the in.an.s had features of con.en.tal heart disease. The predisposin. factors were mostly otolaryn.ologic (15) or posttraumatic (8). Most common.y abscesses were located in.fron.al 13 (30%) followed by cerebellar 9 (21%). Burr hole evacuation.was don. in.74% of cases. 3 patien.s (7% of cases) died. Progn.sis appears to worsen.with ven.riculitis, multiple abscesses especially in.in.an.s, an. immun.suppression. Con.lusion. In.con.lusion. brain.abscess still con.in.es to be a formidable challen.e, with progn.sis that dramatically improved over the last decades due to advan.es

The flat limit of rotation.l velocity (vφ) approximately equal to the “edge”-velocity of a galaxy is related to the baryon.c mass (MB) via the T-F relation.hip with n.≈ 4. We explore the con.ection.between.mass an. the limitin. velocity in.the framework of gen.ral relativity (GR) usin. the Weyl metric for axially-symmetric galaxies that are supported en.irely by their rotation.l motion. While for small distan.es from the cen.er, the n.wton.an.description.is accurate as on. moves beyon. the (baryon.c) edge of the galaxy, Len.’s law an. n.n.lin.arity of the gravitation.l field in.eren. in.GR n.t on.y lead to a flat velocity (obviatin. its Keplerian.fall), but also provide its tight log-log relation.hip with the en.losed (baryon.c) mass.
