Four rare earth inorganic-organic hybrid compounds based on Keggin-type polyoxometalate {SiW_(12)}with general formula [{RE(DMF)_(4)(H_(2)O)_4RE(DMF)_(6)}_(2){SiW_(12)O_(40)}_(3)](RE = La(1),Pr(2),Sm(3),Eu(4),DMF=N,N-dimethylformamide) were synthesized by the conventional solution *** analyses indicate that four compounds are isostructural and are all built from three [SiW_(12)O_(40)]^(4-) polyoxoanions and DMF ligands linked by RE^(3+).Compounds 1-4 are extremely sensitive to UV light and present excellent photochromic properties,in which the coloring and fading time of samples are both no more than 2 min,and the reversible coloring-fading process can be repeated for at least 10 cycles with little fatigue,suggesting that compounds 1-4 can be a series of fast-responsive and durable photochromic ***,the solid-state photoluminescence spectra of compounds 3(Sm) and 4(Eu)display strong characteristic emissions of rare earth ions based on f-f ***,compound4(Eu) has a longer fluorescence lifetime up to 566.74 μ***,co mpounds 3(Sm) and 4(Eu) exhibit the switchable luminescence behavior induced by photochromism,which allows them to be used as potential molecular switches.

Many electrochemical energy storage devices,such as batteries,supercapacitors,and metal ion capacitors,rely on effective and inexpensive electrode ***,we have developed highly active nitrogen-doped porous carbon nanofoams(NPCNs-600-N)for sodium-ion capacitors(SICs).NPCNs-600-N have a highly porous framework,extended interlayer spacing(0.41 nm),and lots of surface functional ***,NPCNs-600-N achieves a high reversible capacity(301 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.05 A·g^(-1)),superior rate capability(112 mAh·g^(-1)at 5.00 A·g^(-1)),and ultra-stable *** excellent rate and cycling performance originate from the abundant active sites and porous architecture of ***-more,SICs device is constructed by employing the NPCNs-600-N as the battery-like anode and commercial superconductive carbon black as the capacitive cathode,which delivers high energy/power densities of 92 Wh·kg^(-1)/15984 W·kg^(-1)with a remarkable cyclability(93%reten-tion over 5000 cycles at 1.00 A·g^(-1)).The methodology of the work enables the simultaneous tuning of the porous architectures and surface function groups of carbon for high-performance SICs.

Genomic rearrangements play a crucial role in shaping biological phenotypic diversity and driving species *** chromosome rearrangement and modification by LoxP-mediated evolution(SCRaMbLE)has been applied to explore large-scale genomic rearrangements,yet it has been observed that these rearrangements occur exclusively in genomic regions containing loxPsym ***,we found that SCRaMbLE of synthetic yeast harboring synthetic chromosome V and X can generate a variety of synthetic segment insertions into wild-type chromosomes,ranging from 1 to 300 ***,it was revealed that the novel insertions impacted the transcriptional level of neighboring regions and affected the production of exemplar pathway of ***,our results improve the understanding of the ability of SCRaMbLE to generate complex structural variations in nonsynthetic regions and provide a potential model to explore genomic transposable events.

To investigate the stability and interaction mechanism of the slope-pile-footing system under surcharge effects,the finite difference method(FDM)was adopted to analyze the response laws of the stability of the reinforced slope,evolution of the critical slip surface,stress characteristic of retaining structures,deformation and failure modes of the slope foundation and building footing under surcharge parameters,including the surcharge intensity,the surcharge position,and the surcharge *** results show that surcharge parameters significantly affect the stability and the deformation characteristics of the slope-pile-footing *** speaking,with the increasing surcharge intensity and the decreasing surcharge position and width,the deformation and failure mode of the system will gradually evolve in a direction that is harmful to its *** interaction mechanism of the slope-pile-footing system is further clarified as the load transfer of the building footing,the generation of the additional stress in the slope foundation,and the adjustment of pile bending moment due to the stress ***,the safety of anti-slide piles will determine the stability of the slope foundation and building *** findings are expected to provide guidance for the comprehensive development and utilization of filled slopes after reinforcement.

Background: Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) therapy in which mugwort(Artemisia vulgaris) floss is burned to warm and stimulate acupoints. The modality has been used traditionally for thousands of years. However, smoke-related safety issues have recently been of concern, and little is known about moxa smoke and air quality in the clinical moxibustion ***: To assess the air quality in a typical moxibustion treatment room using particulate matter(PM) concentration and DNA oxidative damage at ***: The study was conducted in August and November to December, 2011, at a TCM clinic in Beijing, China, in a moxibustion treatment room. A moxa-free treatment room and the outdoor area adjacent to the clinic were used as controls. PM10 concentrations were monitored with a portable digital dust indicator. The oxidative capacity of whole and water-soluble fractions of PM10 were detected using plasmid DNA assay. The results were shown as TD40 values; that is, the amount of PM10 that causes plasmid DNA damage of 40%.Results: Average PM10 concentrations in the moxibustion room were 2.56 mg m^(-3) in summer and 2.78 mg m^(-3) in winter, much higher than at control sites. For whole and water-soluble fractional PM10, the average summer TD40 values collected in the moxibustion room were 791.67 μg ml^(-1) and 876.33 μg ml^(-1) respectively, and the winter values were 779.86 μg ml^(-1) and 879.57 μg ml^(-1). These results of winter samples were significantly higher(p < 0.001) than the corresponding results from control sites. However, there was no statistical difference(p = 0.06)between the TD40 values of both the whole and water-soluble fractional PM10 from the moxibustion treatment room, while differences were significant in the general treatment room(p = 0.025) and at the outdoor site(P < 0.001).Conclusion: Our study shows that moxa smoke increases PM10 concentration. Environmental factors are essential input variables for susceptibility assessment models of mountain ***,the existing literature provides a limited understanding of the relative contribution of these factors to the occurrence of geohazards with a warming climate,posing tremendous challenges for risk management in mountainous ***'an city is susceptible to hazards because of its steep terrain,abundant precipitation and active seismic *** this regard,we utilise the GeoDetector model to extract critical environmental factors affecting the spatial patterns of mountain geohazards(i.e.,landslide,debris flow and rockfall)in Southwest *** analysis indicates that the factors with the highest explanatory power for the spatial distribution of landslides,debris flows,and rockfalls are soil property,extreme precipitation and extreme temperature,***,we revealed the synergistic effects among factors given their larger q-value than individual *** further explored the responses of mountain geohazards to climate change,including the rising temperature and precipitation,because the frequent occurrence of mountain geohazards is closely related to a warming *** variation in snow water equivalent caused by antecedent snowfall and snowdrifts acts as a crucial indicator for geohazards,highlighting the significance of snow and wind observations in meteorological nowcasting and disaster *** disclose the phenomenon of the geohazard hysteresis to the precipitation peak resulting from the top-down(i.e.,precipitation-runoff and surface-deep soil moisture)peak *** work is expected to enhance the precision of susceptibility assessment models and the reliability of short-term forecasts for mountain geohazards.

Material and structure made by additive manufacturing(AM)have received much attention lately due to their flexibility and ability to customize complex *** study first implements multiple objective topology optimization simulations based on a projectile perforation model,and a new topologic projectile is *** two types of 316L stainless steel projectiles(the solid and the topology)are printed in a selective laser melt(SLM)machine to evaluate the penetration performance of the projectiles by the ballistic *** experiment results show that the dimensionless specific kinetic energy value of topologic projectiles is higher than that of solid projectiles,indicating the better penetration ability of the topologic ***,microscopic studies(scanning electron microscope and X-ray micro-CT)are performed on the remaining projectiles to investigate the failure mechanism of the internal structure of the topologic *** explicit dynamics simulation was also performed,and the failure locations of the residual topologic projectiles were in good agreement with the experimental results,which can better guide the design of new projectiles combining AM and topology optimization in the future.

Understanding how hydrological factors interrelate is crucial when examining the impact of climate warming on ***,these connections are often overlooked,leading to an unclear relationship between temperature and *** study investigates the complex interplay between temperature and snowmelt in the Tibetan Plateau from 1961 to 2020,focusing on how extreme high-temperature events affect the frequency of extreme *** a structural equation model,we detected three temperature-related factors that predominantly influenced snowmelt and extreme *** annual average temperature was found to have a significant indirect impact on snowmelt,mediated by changes in snowfall,snow depth and snow *** contrast,high-temperature days(daily maximum temperatures exceeding the 90th percentile)and heat waves(at least three consecutive high-temperature days)negatively affected extreme snowmelt directly or *** direct effect of increasing extreme temperature events was associated with an earlier onset of high-temperature periods,which accelerated snowmelt and shortened the duration of extreme snowmelt ***,the reduction in snow cover owing to warming emerged as a main factor suppressing snowmelt and extreme snowmelt *** also revealed spatiotemporal variations in the temperature‒snowmelt relationship that highly depended on changes in snowmelt *** study elucidated why warming suppresses snowmelt and extreme snowmelt events in the Tibetan Plateau,highlighting the mediating roles of snow-related and phenological *** findings will provide scientific support for climate simulation and water management policymaking in alpine regions worldwide.
