BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-αceramics exhibit superior conductivity among related ***,the hightemperature sintering makes it difficult to prepare electrochemical devices with a BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-αmultilayer film,and very few studies have examined the conductivity and transport properties of unsintered BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-α.In nominally dry conditions,the instability of this material in a watercontaining atmosphere can be minimized,allowing the unsintered BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-αto be applied in some particular test environment as a component of electrochemical ***,the conductivity of unsintered BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-αin dry conditions was measured via AC impedance spectroscopy in the temperature range of 500-800℃.The unsintered BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-αexhibits high conductivity and hydration ability,as well as low proton activation *** addition,it shows high oxygen vacancy and low proton transport numbers at high temperature,limited by its grain *** work provides insights into the conductivity and proton transport of unsintered BaCe_(0.8)Y_(0.2)O_(3)-αand demonstrates its potential as a proton-conducting electrolyte.

Meta-analysis of the efficacy of probiotics in Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy

AIM: To evaluate the role of probiotics in the standard triple Helicobacter pylori therapy. METHODS: In this meta-analysis, we investigated the efficacy of probiotics in a standard triple H. pylori therapy in adults. Searches were mainly conducted in MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials. Fourteen studies met our criteria, and the quality of these studies was assessed using the Jadad scale. We used STATA version 12.0 to extract data and to calculate the odds ratios (ORs), which are presented with the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs). The data are presented as forest plots. RESULTS: The pooled ORs for the eradication rates calculated by intention-to-treat analysis and per-protocol analysis in the probiotic group vs the control group were 1.67 (95%CI: 1.38-2.02) and 1.68 (95%CI: 1.35-2.08), respectively, using the fixed-effects model. The sensitivity of the Asian studies was greater than that of the Caucasian studies (Asian: OR = 1.78, 95%CI: 1.40-2.26; Caucasian: OR = 1.48, 95%CI: 1.06-2.05). The pooled OR for the incidence of total adverse effects was *** lower in the probiotic group (OR = 0.49, 95%CI: 0.26-0.94), using the random effects model, with significant heterogeneity (I-2 = 85.7%). The incidence of diarrhea was significantly reduced in the probiotic group (OR = 0.21, 95%CI: 0.06-0.74), whereas the incidence of taste disorders, metallic taste, vomiting, nausea, and epigastric pain did not differ significantly between the probiotic group and the control group. CONCLUSION: Supplementary probiotic preparations during standard triple H. pylori therapy may improve the eradication rate, particularly in Asian patients, and the incidence of total adverse effects. PBQ[1-(4-chlorophenyl)-3-(pyridin-3-yl)urea],an enormous potent molluscicide,showed excellent Pomacea canaliculata(***)control activity and low toxicity for other aquatic organisms,but its snail-killing mechanisms are still not fully *** employed an optical method to elucidate PBQ action via a novel fluorescent viscosity probe,*** the viscosity in the test solutions increased,compared with that in pure ethanol,a 54-fold fluorescence intensity enhancement of NCV was observed in 310 cP of 90%***,NCV successfully exhibited a selective fluorescence response towards monensin-induced cellular viscosity changes in HepG2 *** liver,stomach,and foot plantar of the tested snails were frozen and sectioned for fluorescent imaging experiments after the treatment with different PBQ concentrations over various times.A significant fluorescent increase in the snail's liver was observed upon exposure to 0.75 mg/L PBQ for 72 h,which highlighted an increase in *** and eosin(HE)staining further supported PBQ-induced liver damage with a viscosity increase in *** study provides a new rapid optical visualization method to study the killing mechanisms of PBQ and may help discover new chemicals that control snail populations.

Perfect vortex(PV) beam, as a novel paradigm to carry orbital angular momentum(OAM), owns constant radius of energy intensity and infinite mode of helical patterns, which overcomes the divergence performances of conventional vortex beam. However, common approaches for PV beam generation require optical cascading systems that should constitute of various lenses and components with bulk volume and high alignment standards,also cannot realize PV customization. Thus, in this paper, we propose a general scheme based on compact platform of geometric metasurface to achieve PV beams generations and deformable wave-front modulations. The adopted unit cell is designed with “ABA”-shaped configuration, which can high-efficiently transform circular polarization incident wave into its cross-polarized state and impose required PV phase patterns. Here, we construct series of metasurface lenses to achieve PVs with eight different OAM modes at operating frequency 10 GHz, and additionally conduct quasi-elliptical energy-ring intensities and fractional modals of PVs by introducing asymmetric periodicity and extra singularities. By exploiting compact metasurface platform, this general scheme for PV beam generation and modulation would provide a theoretical foundation for the electromagnetic waves controlling in modern wireless communication systems.

The phenomenon termed“zebra stripes”manifests as regular patterns in the energy-space(L shell)spectrum of energetic electrons(ranging from tens to hundreds ke V)within the inner radiation *** structures exhibit drift-periodic behavior and commonly arise from large-scale electric field perturbations near the substorm *** this study,we introduce a composite electric field model and replicate the formation,structure,and evolution of zebra stripes using a bounce-averaged test particle code under this electric field ***-resolution measurements of energetic electrons obtained from the Van Allen Probes and the recently launched Macao Science Satellites-1 are used as initial conditions and served to validate our test particle *** analyses between observed data and simulations demonstrate our test particle method's efficacy in capturing zebra stripes'general ***,the composite model proves capable of reproducing realistic variations in the electric field within the inner radiation belt to a certain ***,subtle differences emerge in the flux strength and the positions of *** disparities primarily stem from limitations inherent in the electric field model and the initial conditions of the *** that the model represents an average case,it is conceivable that real-world scenarios may deviate from the average,thereby introducing variations in the observed phenomena.

Mitochondria are cellular organelles that originate from an endosymbiotic bacterial ancestor and are primarily responsible for ATP generation via oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). OXPHOS is conducted by five mitochondrial respiratory complexes in the inner mitochondrial membrane. Human mitochondria possess a distinct genome, a small, circular, doublestranded DNA (mtDNA) of 16,569 base pairs.
