Sliding wear behaviour of Fe/316L/430-Ti(C,N)composites prepared via spark plasma sintering and subsequent heat treatment

A study of sea level variability and its long-term trend in the South China Sea

On the basis of the satellite maps of sea level anomaly（MSLA） data and in situ tidal gauge sea level data,correlation analysis and empirical mode decomposition（EMD） are employed to investigate the applicability of MSLA data,sea level correlation,long-term sea level variability（SLV） trend,sea level rise（SLR） rate and its geographic distribution in the South China Sea（SCS）.The findings show that for Dongfang Station,Haikou Station,Shanwei Station and Zhapo Station,the minimum correlation coefficient between the closest MSLA grid point and tidal station is *** suggests that the satellite altimeter MSLA data are effective to observe the coastal SLV in the *** the monthly scale,coastal SLV in the western and northern part of SCS are highly associated with coastal *** the seasonal scale,SLV of the coastal area in the western part of the SCS is still strongly influenced by the coastal current system in summer and *** Pacific change can affect the SCS mainly in winter rather than summer and the affected area mostly concentrated in the northeastern and eastern parts of the ***,the average SLR in the SCS is 90.8 mm with a rising rate of（5.0±0.4） mm/a during1993–*** SLR rate from the southern Luzon Strait through the Huangyan Seamount area to the Xisha Islands area is higher than that of other areas of the SCS.

A Robust and Soluble Nanopolymer Based on Molecular Grid-based Nanomonomer

Shape persistent conformations reduce the complexity of polymer materials. Herein, we propose a concept on the nanopolymer that is a nanoscale polymer chain with the repeat units of nanomonomers, In this article, a soluble organic nanopolymer of wide bandgap semiconductors was synthesized by the Yamamoto polymerization of nanogrid monomer as the repeat units with the rectangle size of -1.7 nm × 1.2 nm. The alkyl side chain substituent at 9-position of fluorenes guarantees the polygrid with excellent solubility. Tetrafluorenes in the conjugation-interrupted backbones of polygrid acts as the active light-emitting centers without obvious green band in the fluorescence spectra of the films after 10 h annealing at 180 ℃, indicating this nanopolymer exhibits excellent spectral stability. Such soluble nanopolymers will be the fifth- generation of macromolecular materials with a potential character of overall performance improvement.

Strain transfer of surface-bonded fiber Bragg grating sensors for airship envelope structural health monitoring

This paper deals with an improved bonding approach of surface-bonded fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors for airship envelope structural health monitoring (SHM) under the strain transfer theory. A theoretical formula is derived from the proposed model to predict the strain transfer relationship between the airship envelope and fiber core. Then theoretical predictions are validated by numerical analysis using the finite element method (FEM). Finally, on the basis of the theoretical approach and numerical validation, parameters that influence the strain transfer rate from the airship envelope to fiber core and the ratio of effective sensing length are analyzed, and some meaningful conclusions are provided.

Bullous pemphigoid associated with acquired hemophilia A: A case report

BACKGROUND Acquired hemophilia A (AHA) is a rare and potentially severe bleeding disordercaused by circulating autoantibodies against factor Ⅷ (FⅧ). In approximately50% of the patients, the condition is associated with autoimmune diseases,cancers, medication use, pregnancy, and the post-partum period. Bullous pemphigoid(BP) is a chronic autoimmune subepidermal blistering disease associatedwith tissue-bound and circulating autoantibodies against BP antigens 180 (BP180)and 230 (BP230). AHA-associated BP has a high mortality rate;hence, the understandingof this disease must *** SUMMARY A 69-year-old man presented with erythema, blisters, blood blisters, and crustsaccompanied by severe pruritus for more than 20 days, and ecchymosis andswelling on his left upper arm for 3 days. Pathological examination revealed asubepidermal blister that contained eosinophils. Laboratory tests showed that theBP180 autoantibody levels had increased, isolated activated partial thromboplastintime was notably prolonged (115.6 s), and coagulation FⅧ activity wasextremely low (< 1.0%). Furthermore, the FⅧ inhibitor titer had greatlyincreased (59.2 Bethesda units). Therefore, the patient was diagnosed as having BP associated with AHA, prescribed 0.05% topical halometasone cream, and transferred to a higher-level hospitalfor effective treatment;however, he died after 2 *** AHA associated BP is rare, dangerous, and has a high mortality rate. Therefore, its timely diagnosis and effectivetreatment are necessary.

Enhanced mechanical properties and formability of 316L stainless steel materials 3D-printed using selective laser melting

HIGHLY SENSITIVE CATALASE ELECTRODE BASED ON POLYPYRROLE FILMS WITH MICROCONTAINERS

Highly sensitive catalase electrodes for sensing hydrogen peroxide have been fabricated based on polypyrrole films with microcontainers. The microcontainers have a cup-like morphology and are arranged in a density of 4000 units cm^-2. Catalase was immobilized into the polypyrrole films with microcontainers （Ppy-mc）, which were coated on a Pt substrate electrode. The catalase/Ppy-mc/Pt electrode showed linear response to hydrogen peroxide in the range of 0-18 mmol/L at a potential of-0.3 V （versus SCE）. Its sensitivity was measured to be approximately 3.64 μA （mmol/L） ^-1 cm^- 2, which is about two times that of the electrode fabricated from a flat Ppy film （catalase/Ppy-flat/Pt electrode）. The electrode is highly selective for hydrogen peroxide and its sensitivity is interfered by potential interferents such as ascorbic acid, urea and fructose. Furthermore, such catalase electrodes showed long-term storage stability of 15 days under dry conditions at 4℃.

On the horizontal distribution of algal-bloom in Chaohu Lake and its formation process

Based on the remote sensing images of algae, the present work analyzes the horizontal distribution characteristics of algal blooms in Chaohu Lake, China, which also reveals the frequency of algal blooms under different wind directions. Further, an unstructured-grid, three-dimensional finite-volume coastal ocean model （FVCOM） is applied to investigate the wind-induced currents and the transport pro- cess to explain the reason why algal blooms occur at the detected places. We first deduce the primary distribution of biomass from overlaid satellite images, and explain the formation mechanism by analyzing the pollution sources, and simulating the flow field and transportation process under prevailing wind over Chaohu Lake. And then, we consider the adjustment action of the wind on the corresponding day and develop a two-time scale approach to describe the whole formation process of algae horizontal distribution in Chaohu Lake. That is, on the longer time scale, i.e., during bloom season, prevailing wind determines the primary distribution of biomass by inducing the characteristic flow field; on the shorter time scale, i.e., on the day when bloom occurs, the wind force adjusts the primary distribution of biomass to form the final distribution of algal bloom.
