Salamanders are unique among tetrapods in their ability to regenerate the limbs throughout *** other poikilothermic amphibians,salamanders also show a remarkable capacity to survive long periods of *** the physiological reserves necessary for tissue regeneration are preserved or sacrificed in starved salamanders is *** the current study,we maintained Iberian ribbed newts(Pleurodeles waltl)under extreme physiological stress to assess the extent of regeneration and identify the molecular and cellular changes that may occur under such *** 19 months of complete food deprivation,the animals exhibited extensive morphological and physiological adaptations but remained behaviorally active and *** was elevated in different tissues and the transformed gut microbiota indicated remodeling of the intestinal tract related to *** limb amputation in animals starved for 21 months,regeneration proceeded with progenitor cell proliferation and migration,leading to limb blastema ***,limb outgrowth and patterning were substantially *** of autophagy inhibited cell proliferation and blastema formation in starved animals,but not in fed ***,tissue autophagy and the regenerative response were tightly coupled only when animals were under *** results demonstrate that under adverse conditions,salamanders can exploit alternative strategies to secure blastema formation for limb regeneration.

Comparative effectiveness of several adjuvant therapies after hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma patients with microvascular invasion

Ynones are important skeletons in bioactive molecules and valuable building blocks for organic synthesis,thus great efforts have been devoted to their ***,introducing prochiral substrates to construct ynones bearing a chiral framework is unrealized to ***,we reported the first example of Pd/SOP-catalyzed asymmetric carbonylative alkynylation via a non-classical carbonylative Sonogashiratype approach(acyl-Pd(Ⅱ)species generated from nucleophiles).By using cyclic diaryliodonium salts as prochiral substrates,various axial chiral ynones with good functional group tolerance(39 examples),satisfied yields(71%-96%)and excellent enantioselectivities(generally 94%-99%ee)were *** of bioactive compounds,scale-up experiment and useful transformations were also conducted to demonstrate the utility of this process.

Advancing Underlying Cause of Death Inference Through Wide and Deep Model

Introduction:Accurately filling out death certificates is essential for death ***,manually determining the underlying cause of death is often *** this study,we investigate the Wide and Deep framework as a method to improve the accuracy and reliability of inferring the underlying cause of ***:Death report data from national-level cause of death surveillance sites in Fujian Province from 2016 to 2022,involving 403,547 deaths,were *** Wide and Deep embedded with Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN)was *** performance was assessed using weighted accuracy,weighted precision,weighted recall,and weighted area under the curve(AUC).A comparison was made with XGBoost,CNN,Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU),Transformer,and GRU with ***:The Wide and Deep achieved strong performance metrics on the test set:precision of 95.75%,recall of 92.08%,F1 Score of 93.78%,and an AUC of 95.99%.The model also displayed specific F1 Scores for different cause-of-death chain lengths:97.13%for single causes,95.08%for double causes,91.24%for triple causes,and 79.50%for quadruple ***:The Wide and Deep significantly enhances the ability to determine the root causes of death,providing a valuable tool for improving causeof-death surveillance *** artificial intelligence(AI)in this field is anticipated to streamline death registration and reporting procedures,thereby boosting the precision of public health data.

Explosive cyclones(ECs)occur frequently over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension *** most rapidly intensified EC over the Kuroshio/Kuroshio Extension region during the 42 years(1979-2020)of cold seasons(October-April)was studied to reveal the variations of the key factors at different explosive-developing *** EC had weak low-level baroclinicity,mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection,and strong low-level water vapor convergence at the initial explosive-developing *** low-level baroclinicity and mid-level cyclonic-vorticity advection increased substantially during the maximum-deepening-rate *** diagnostic analyses using the Zwack-Okossi equation showed that diabatic heating was the main contributor to the initial rapid intensification of this *** cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection enhanced rapidly in the middle and upper troposphere and contributed to the maximum rapid intensification,whereas the diabatic heating weakened slightly in the mid-low *** relative contribution of the diabatic heating decreased from the initial explosive-developing stage to the maximum-deepening-rate stage due to the enhancement of other factors(the cyclonic-vorticity advection and warm-air advection).Furthermore,the physical factors contributing to this EC varied with the explosive-developing *** non-key factors at the initial explosive-developing stage need attention to forecast the rapid intensification.

Polypyride intercalation boosting the kinetics and stability of V_(3)O_(7)·H_(2)O cathodes for aqueous zinc-ion batteries

V_(3)O_(7)·H_(2)O(VO)is a high capacity cathode material in the field of aqueous zinc ion batteries(AZIBs),but it is limited by slow ion migration and low electrical *** this paper,polypyridine(PPyd)intercalated VO with nanoribbon structure was prepared by a simple in-situ pre-intercalation,which is noted *** total density of states(TDOS)shows that after the pre-intercalation of PPyd,an intermediate energy level appears between the valence band and conduction band,which provides a step that can effectively reduce the band gap and enhance the electron ***,the density functional theory(DFT)results found that Zn^(2+)is more easily de-intercalated from the V-O skeleton,which proves that the embeddedness of PPyd improves the diffusion kinetics of Zn^(2+).Electrochemical studies have shown that VO-PPyd cathode materials exhibit excellent rate performance(high specific capacity of 465 and 192 mA h g^(-1)at 0.2 and 10 A g^(-1),respectively)and long-term cycling performance(92.7%capacity retention rate after 5300 cycles),due to their advantages in structure and *** importantly,the energy density of VO-PPyd//Zn at 581 and 5806 W kg^(-1)is 375 and 247 W h kg^(-1),***-PPyd exhibits excellent electrochemical properties compared to previously reported vanadium based cathodes,which makes it highly competitive in the field of high-performance cathode materials of AZIBs.

Comparison of fish communities using environmental DNA metabarcoding and capture methods in a plateau Erhai Lake,China

Environmental DNA(eDNA)has been used as an important tool for fish diversity analysis,which can greatly solve the problems in traditional survey ***,little work has been done on the actual monitoring accuracy of *** this study,we analyzed the current status of fish resources in Erhai Lake in Yunnan,SW China,by dividing the lake into three sectors according to habitat differences,and compared the results of eDNA and traditional capture methods to investigate the shortcomings of the current analysis of eDNA results.A total of 27 fish species were detected by eDNA and traditional capture methods,including 20 and 19 fish species,respectively,and additional differences in fish composition between the two *** alpha diversity showed higher fish abundance and lower fish diversity by eDNA method compared to the traditional capture method,demonstrating that eDNA was not superior for use in fish diversity *** community similarity analysis showed that community differences were generally significant for eDNA(P<0.05).RDA analysis indicated that environmental factors did not significantly affect fish communities monitored by the eDNA ***,water temperature,aquatic plants,and water depth had significant(P<0.05)effects on fish communities in the traditional capture method,suggesting that eDNA results are insensitive to the effects of environmental *** results illustrate the effectiveness of eDNA in fish identification and the issues in quantification compared to traditional capture ***,combining eDNA with traditional methods is a more effective method for analyzing eDNA metabarcoding,following which the protocols of both quantitative methods can be designed to explore the regularity of eDNA quantification.
