Selenium,an element belonging to the same group in the periodic table as sulfur,has a high electronic conductivity(1×10^(-5)S/cm)and a high volumetric energy density(3253 mA h/cm^(3)),which is a prospective cathode material for high-energy all-solid-state rechargeable ***,its wide use is hindered by large volume expansion and low utilization *** this work,Se-infused nitrogen-doped hierarchical meso-microporous carbon composites(Se/NHPC)are prepared by a melt-diffusion *** Se is uniformly dispersed in meso-micropores of NHPC with a high mass loading of 81%.All-solid-state Li-Se batteries fabricated by using Se/NHPC as the cathode,a Li-In alloy as the anode,and Li_(6)PS_(5)Cl as the solid-state electrolyte,deliver a highly reversible capacity of 621 m Ah/g(92%of theoretical capacity),a good rate capability and a high capacity retention value of 80.9%after 100 *** is found that the capacity decay of Se cathode is mainly related to the interfacial degradation and the separation of Se from the carbon substrate,as suggested by the continuous increase of interfacial resistance and the structural transformation from amorphous Senchains to Se8rings initial discharge/charge cycle and then to the trigonally crystalline Se chains structure after the long-term cycles.

In this paper,we studied the dynamics of a dispersion-tuned swept-fiber laser both experimentally and *** adding a dispersion compensation fiber and an electro-optic modulator in the laser cavity,an actively mode-locked laser was obtained by using intensity modulation,and wavelength sweeping was realized by changing the modulation *** a high-speed real-time oscilloscope,the dynamic behaviors of the swept laser were investigated during wavelength switching,static-sweeping cycle,and continuous sweeping,*** was found that the laser generates relaxation oscillation at the start of the sweeping *** relaxation oscillation process lasted for about 0.7 ms,and then the laser started to operate *** to the nonlinear effect,new wavelengths were generated in the relaxation oscillation process,which is not beneficial for ***,relaxation oscillation disappears if the laser starts up and operates in the continuous sweeping mode,and the good sweeping symmetry between the positive sweep and negative sweep increases the application potential of the *** addition,the instantaneous linewidth is almost the same as that in the static *** results describe the characteristics of the laser from a new perspective and reveal,to the best our knowledge,the intensity dynamics of such lasers for the first *** paper provides some new research basis for understanding the establishment process of dispersion-tuned swept-fiber lasers and their potential application in the future.

Design and experimental performance verification of a thermal property test-bed for lunar drilling exploration

Chinese Chang＇e lunar exploration project aims to collect and return subsurface lunar soil samples at a minimum penetration depth of 2 m in 2017. However, in contrast to those on the Earth, automated drilling and sampling missions on the Moon raise the risk of burning bits. Test-beds are required for testing the thermal properties of drill tools in a lunar environment. In this paper, a novel temperature measuring method based on thermocouples and a slip ring was proposed. Furthermore, a data acquisition system for a drilling process was designed. A vacuous, cryogenic, and anhydrous soil environment simulating the lunar surface was established. A drilling test-bed that can reach a depth of 2.2 m was developed. A control strategy based on online monitoring signals was proposed to improve the drilling performance. Vacuum and non-vacuum experiments were performed to test the temperature rising effect on drill tools. When compared with the non-vacuum experiment, the vacuum temperature rise resulted in a 12 ℃ increase. These experimental results provide significant support for Chinese lunar exploration missions.

Effect of radial heat conduction on effective thermal conductivity of carbon nanotube bundles

The effect of the radial heat conduction on the effective thermal conductivity of carbon nanotube(CNT) bundles is studied by the nonequilibrium molecular dynamics(NEMD) method. The hexagonal CNT bundle consists of seven(10, 10) single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs). The radial heat conduction is induced by creating the vacancy defects in some segments of the constituent CNTs. Combined with the temperature differences and the inter-tube thermal resistances at the different segments,the radial heat flow in the CNT bundle is calculated. The maximum percentage of the radial heat flow is less than 7% with the presence of four defective CNTs, while the resultant decrement of the effective thermal conductivity of the bundle is about 18%.The present results indicate that the radial heat flow can significantly diminish the axial heat conduction in the CNT bundles,which probably explains the smaller effective thermal conductivity in the CNT assemblies compared to that of the individual CNTs.

In recent years,lanthanum-based nanomaterials(La-NMs)are selected as an efficient nano-adsorbent for phosphate removal because La3+has a strong affinity with oxygen-donor atoms from ***,there are a broad interest and literature base for the effect of different synthesis optimization and environmental parameters on the adsorption performance of La-NMs.A considerable amount of research has also investigated the regeneration and application of La-NMs to real wastewater in a laboratory *** on the literature survey,it was found that La-NMs are often produced via co-precipitation and hydrothermal ***,phosphate’s adsorption process and behavior onto La-NMs are described well with the pseudo-second-order model and Langmuir *** interaction mechanism between phosphate and La-NMs are dominated by ligand exchange,surface complexation and electrostatic ***,phosphate could easily desorb from La-NMs due to the weak H-bonding interaction between phosphate and the H-bond acceptor groups on the surface of *** the wealth of literature available in this area,there is a lack of systematic review to evaluate the gaps in the use of La-NMs to eliminate phosphate in *** this review,we mainly summarize and discuss the role and the effect of the synthesis techniques on the physicochemical properties and the adsorption behavior of *** possible adsorption mechanism,regeneration efficiency,and the application of La-NMs to the real environmental samples are also presented and highlighted.

The seismic design of gravity retaining walls is based mostly on the pseudo static *** seismic earth pressure is assumed to be a constant without considering the wave traveling effect when the seismic wave propagates through the ***,under continuous ground motion,the actual earth pressure on the retaining wall varies with *** present seismic earth pressure calculation method yields results that differ significantly from the actual *** this,a slip surface curve was assumed in this *** is more suitable for engineering *** addition,a theoretical calculation model based on energy dissipation was *** time history of seismic earth pressure response under continuous ground motion was calculated using the equilibrium equation between the external power and the internal energy dissipation power of the sliding soil *** can more effectively reflect the stress scenario of a retaining wall under seismic *** verify the applicability of the proposed approach,a large-scale shaking table test was conducted,and the time history of the seismic earth pressure response obtained from the experiment was compared with the calculation *** results show that the proposed approach is applicable to the calculation of the time history of seismic earth pressure response of gravity retaining *** lays the foundation for the seismic design of retaining structures by using dynamic time history.

Porous ionic liquids have demonstrated excellent performance in the field of separation,attributed to their high specific surface area and efficient mass ***,task-specific protic porous ionic liquids(PPILs)were prepared by employing a novel one-step coupling neutralization reaction strategy for extractive *** single-extraction efficiency of PPILs reached 75.0%for ***,adding aromatic hydrocarbon interferents resulted in a slight decrease in the extraction efficiency of PPILs(from 45.2%to 37.3%,37.9%,and 33.5%),indicating the excellent extraction selectivity of *** experimental measurements and density functional theory calculations reveal that the surface channels of porous structures can selectively capture dibenzothiophene by the stronger electrophilicity(Eint(HS surface channel/DBT)=-39.8 kcal mol^(-1)),and the multiple extraction sites of ion pairs can effectively enrich and transport dibenzothiophene from the oil phase into PPILs throughπ...π,C-H...πand hydrogen bonds ***,this straightforward synthetic strategy can be employed in preparing porous liquids,offering new possibilities for synthesizing PPILs with tailored functionalities.

Parasitic capacitance is an unavoidable and usually unwanted capacitance that exists in electric circuits, and it is the most important second-order non-ideal effect that must be considered while designing a triboelectric nanogenerator （TENG） because its magnitude is comparable to the magnitude of the TENG capacitance. This paper investigates the structure and performance optimization of TENGs through modeling and simulation, taking the parasitic capacitance into account. Parasitic capacitance is generally found to cause severe performance degradation in TENGs, and its effects on the optimum matching resistance, maximum output power, and structural figures-of-merit （FOMs） of TENGs are thoroughly investigated and discussed. Optimum values of important structural parameters such as the gap and electrode length are determined for the different working modes of TENGs, systematically demonstrating how these optimum structural parameters change as functions of the parasitic capacitance. Additionally, it is demonstrated that the parasitic capacitance can improve the height tolerance of the metal freestanding-mode TENGs. This work provides a theoretical foundation for the structure and performance optimization of TENGs for practical applications and promotes the development of mechanical energy-harvesting techniques.
