Biological water striders have advantages such as flexible movement,low disturbance to the water surface,and low noise.Researchers have developed a large number of biomimetic water strider robots based on their movement mechanism,which have broad application prospects in water quality testing,water surface reconnaissance,and search.This article mainly reviews the research progress of biomimetic water strider robots.First,the biological and kinematic characteristics of water striders are outlined,and some mechanical parameters of biological water striders are summarized.The basic equations of water strider movement are then described.Next,an overview is given of the past and current work on skating and jumping movements of biomimetic water strider robots based on surface tension and water pressure dominance.Based on the current research status of biomimetic water strider robots,the shortcomings of current research on biomimetic water striders are summarized,and the future development of biomimetic water strider robots is discussed.This article provides new insights for the design of biomimetic water strider robots.

Appropriate drying process with optimized controlling of drying parameters plays a vital role in the improvement of the quality and performance of propellant products.However,few research on solvent transport dynamics within NC-based propellants was reported,and its effect on the evolution of mechanical properties was not interpreted yet.This study is conducted to gain a comprehensive understanding of hot-air drying for NC-based propellants and clarify the effect of temperature on solvent transport behavior and further the change of mechanical properties during drying.The drying kinetic curves show the drying time required is decreased but the steady solvent content is increased and the drying rate is obviously increased with the increase of hot-air temperatures,indicating hot-air temperatures have a significant effect on drying kinetics.A modified drying model was established,and results show it is more appropriate to describe solvent transport behavior within NC-based propellants.Moreover,two linear equations were established to exhibit the relationship between solvent content and its effect on the change of tensile properties,and the decrease of residual solvent content causes an obvious increase of tensile strength and tensile modulus of propellant products,indicating its mechanical properties can be partly improved by adjustment of residual solvent content.The outcomes can be used to clarify solvent transport mechanisms and optimize drying process parameters of double-based gun propellants.

Coronaviruses are widespread in nature and can infect mammals and poultry,making them a public health concern.Globally,prevention and control of emerging and re-emerging animal coronaviruses is a great challenge.The mecha-nisms of virus-mediated immune responses have important implications for research on virus prevention and control.The antigenic epitope is a chemical group capable of stimulating the production of antibodies or sensitized lympho-cytes,playing an important role in antiviral immune responses.Thus,it can shed light on the development of diagnos-tic methods and novel vaccines.Here,we have reviewed advances in animal coronavirus antigenic epitope research,aiming to provide a reference for the prevention and control of animal and human coronaviruses.

Optimum process conditions for preparation of Cu-en/AP composite microspheres by electrostatic spray method based on ANSYS(Fluent) simulation

This study employed ANSYS (Fluent) to set up an orthogonal experimental design for simulating the preparation of AP/Cu-en composite microspheres via the electrostatic spray method. Additionally， a controlled variable approach was used to simulate the influence of flow rate， solvent ratio， and solid mass on the experimental results. The purpose is to study the optimal process conditions for preparing Cu-en/AP composite microspheres through electrostatic spray and to reveal the effects of changes in droplet properties and flow rate during the electrostatic spray process on the experimental results.The results indicate that under the following process conditions: a flow rate of 2.67e-3 kg/s， acetone to deionized water ratio of 1.5:1， and a solid mass of 200 mg， the theoretical diameter of the composite microspheres can reach the nanoscale. These microspheres exhibit high velocity within the electric field， there was no significant deviation in the motion trajectory. The particle diameter decreases with the increase of velocity.In the process，This decreasing trend begins to moderate when the flow rate is 1e-3kg/s. When increasing the solvent ratio (higher acetone content)，at the begging，the particle diameter is reduced， followed by an increase. An increase in solid mass also leads to reduced in particle diameter. At a solid mass of approximately 220 mg， the particle diameter starts to increase linearly. It will be explained in detail in this paper.

In situ carbon-coated Co_(3)Se_(4)/CoSe_(2)(Co_(x)Se_(y))nanoparticles(NPs)attached on three-dimensional(3D)reduced graphene oxide(rGO)sheets were skillfully developed in this work,which involved the environment-friendly hydrothermal method,freeze drying,and selenide calcination.Within the structure,the glucose-derived carbon layer exhibited significantly homogeneous dispersion under an argon environment.This structure not only has enhanced stability,but also can effectively mitigate the volume swell of Co_(x)Se_(y) particles.The resulted Co_(3)Sea/CoSe_(2)@C/rGO(CSe@C/rGO)exhibited a specific surface area(SSA)of 240.9 m^(2)·g^(-1),offering more electrochemically active sites for the storage of energy related to lithium ions.The rGO matrix held exceptional flexibility and functional structural rigidity,facilitating the swift ion intercalation and ensuring the high conductivity and recyclability of the structure.When applied to anodes designed for lithium-ion batteries(LiBs),this material demonstrated distinguished rate and ultra-high reversible capacity(872.98 mA·h·g^(-1) at 0.5 A·g^(-1)).Meanwhile,its capacity retention reached 119.5%after 500 cycles at 2 A·g^(-1),with a coulombic efficiency of 100%.This work potentially paves the way for generating fast and powerful metal selenide anodes and initiating LiBs with good performance.

Defect engineering of W^(6+)-doped NiO for high-performance black smart windows

In this report,W^(6+)doping as a defect engineering strategy has been proposed to improve the electrochromic properties of NiO film.Further research was conducted to explore the electrochromic properties and the modified mechanism of W-doped NiO film.Compared to the pure NiO,W-doped NiO film exhibits improved electrochromic properties with significant optical modulation(61.56%at 550 nm),fast switching speed(4.42 s/1.40 s for coloring/bleaching),high coloration efficiency(45.41 cm^(2)·C-1)and outstanding cycling stability(no significant attenuation after 2000 cycles)in Li-based electrolytes.Density functional theory(DFT)calculations combined with the experimental results indicate that the improved electrochromic properties were due to enhanced the electronic conductivity and ion conductivity after the introduction of W^(6+).The charge capacity of W-doped NiO has also been improved,and it can function with WO_(3) to achieve a high performance black electrochromic smart window(ECSW)by balancing charge.This work could advance the fundamental understanding of defect engineering as an effective strategy to boost the electrochromic properties of NiO anodic material,manifesting a significant development as a candidate counter electrode in high-performance black smart windows.

Hemispherical resonator with low subsurface damage machined by small ball-end fine diamond grinding wheel:A novel grinding technique

As for the ultra-precision grinding of the hemispherical fused silica resonator,due to the hard and brittle nature of fused silica,subsurface damage(SSD)is easily generated,which enormously influences the performance of such components.Hence,ultra-precision grinding experiments are carried out to investigate the surface/subsurface quality of the hemispherical resonator machined by the small ball-end fine diamond grinding wheel.The influence of grinding parameters on the surface roughness(SR)and SSD depth of fused silica samples is then analyzed.The experimental results indicate that the SR and SSD depth decreased with the increase of grinding speed and the decrease of feed rate and grinding depth.In addition,based on the material strain rate and the maximum undeformed chip thickness,the effect of grinding parameters on the subsurface damage mechanism of fused silica samples is analyzed.Furthermore,a multi-step ultra-precision grinding technique of the hemispherical resonator is proposed based on the interaction influence between grinding depth and feed rate.Finally,the hemispherical resonator is processed by the proposed grinding technique,and the SR is improved from 454.328 nm to 110.449 nm while the SSD depth is reduced by 94%from 40μm to 2.379μm.The multi-step grinding technique proposed in this paper can guide the fabrication of the hemispherical resonator.

In order to study the combustion characteristics of tar in biomass gasifier inner wall and gasification gas,“tobacco stem semi-tar inside furnace”,“tobacco stem tar inside furnace”and“tobacco stem tar out-of-furnace”were subjected to thermogravimetric experiments,and the combustion characteristics and kinetic characteristics were analyzed.The result shows that“tobacco stem semi-tar inside furnace”has the highest value and“tobacco stem tar out-of-furnace”is has the lowest value on ignition characteristics,combustion characteristics and combustible stability;“tobacco stem semi-tar inside furnace”has the lowest value and“tobacco stem tar outside furnace”has the highest value on burnout characteristics;“tobacco stem tar outside furnace”has the highest value and“tobacco stem tar inside furnace”has the lowest value on integrated combustion characteristics.
