Correlation of work function and stacking fault energy through Kelvin probe force microscopy and nanohardness in diluteα-magnesium

Electronic interactions of the Group 2A elements with magnesium have been studied through the dilute solid solutions in binary Mg-Ca,Mg-Sr and Mg-Ba *** investigation incorporated the difference in the‘Work Function'(ΔWF)measured via Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy(KPFM),as a property directly affected by interatomic bond types,*** electronic structure,nanoindentation measurements,and Stacking Fault Energy values reported in the *** was shown that the nano-hardness of the solid-solutionα-Mg phase changed in the order of Mg-Ca>Mg-Sr>***,it was shown,by also considering the nano-hardness levels,that SFE of a solid-solution is closely correlated with its‘Work Function'***-hardness measurements on the eutectics andΔWF difference between eutectic phases enabled an assessment of the relative bond strength and the pertinent electronic structures of the eutectics in the three *** withΔWF and at least qualitative verification of those computed SFE values with some experimental measurement techniques were considered important as those computational methods are based on zero Kelvin degree,relatively simple atomic models and a number of *** asserted by this investigation,if the results of measurement techniques can be qualitatively correlated with those of the computational methods,it can be possible to evaluate the electronic structures in alloys,starting from binary systems,going to ternary and then multi-elemental *** investigation has shown that such a qualitative correlation is *** all,the SFE values are not treated as absolute values but rather become essential in comparative investigations when assessing the influences of alloying elements at a fundamental level,that is,free electron density *** study indicated that the principles of‘electronic metallurgy'in developing multi-elemental alloy systems can be followed via practical experimental methods,i.e.ΔWF measurements using KPF

Spin-3/2 Ising model AFM/AFM two-layer lattice with crystal field

the spin-3/2 Ising model is investigated for the case of antiferromagnetic （AFM/AFM） interactions on the two- layer Bethe lattice by using the exact recursion relations in the pairwise approach for given coordination numbers q=3, 4 and 6 when the layers are under the influences of equal external magnetic and equal crystal fields. the ground state （GS） phase diagrams are obtained on the different planes in detail and then the temperature-dependent phase diagrams of the system are calculated accordingly. It is observed that the system presents both second- and first-order phase transitions for all q, therefore, tricritical points. It is also found that the system exhibits double-critical end points and isolated points. the model also presents two Neel temperatures, tN, and the existence of which leads to the reentrant behaviour.

Glass fibre reinforced concrete placement technique generates losses due to rebound effects of the already sprayed concrete *** concrete amount cause a significant difference between the initial mix design and emplaced mix *** from the structural differences,it comes with a cost increase which was resulted by the splashed concrete *** factors such as viscosity and quantity of mixes dominate this rebound amount in sprayed glass fibre reinforced concrete applications depending on production technologies and processes;however,this research focuses on the spray distance and the angle of the spray gun which mainly effects the rebound amount in glass fibre reinforced concrete *** paper aims to understand the required angle and distance for glass fibre reinforced concrete mixes having on-site plastic viscosity *** fibre reinforced mixtures were also modelled with a finite element method based software and,the analysis results were compared with production line *** of the analysis and on-site studies showed a decisive correlation between,discharge distance,discharge angle and the viscosity of the concrete.

Increased reactive oxygen species by the activation of NADPH oxidase（NOX） contributes to the development of diabetic ***,a NOX inhibitor,increases sciatic nerve conductance and blood flow in diabetic *** investigated potential protective effect of apocynin in rat diabetic neuropathy and its precise mechanism of action at molecular *** models of streptozotocin-induced diabetes were treated with apocynin（30 and 100 mg/kg per day,intragastrically） for 4 *** hyperalgesia and allodynia were determined weekly using analgesimeter and dynamic plantar *** blot analysis and histochemistry/immunohistochemistry were performed in the lumbar spinal cord and sciatic nerve *** injection reduced pain threshold in analgesimeter,but not in *** treatment increased pain threshold *** blot analysis showed an increase in catalase and NOX-p47 phox protein expression in the spinal ***,protein expressions of neuronal and inducible nitric oxide synthase（n NOS,i NOS）,superoxide dismutase,glutathion peroxidase,nitrotyrosine,tumor necrosis factor-α,interleukin-6,interleukin-1β,aldose reductase,cyclooxygenase-2 or MAC-1（marker for increased microgliosis） in the spinal cord remained *** blot analysis results also demonstrated that apocynin decreased NOX-p47 phox expression at both doses and catalase expression at 100 mg/kg per *** of diabetic sciatic nerve revealed marked degeneration.n NOS and i NOS immunoreactivities were increased,while S-100 immunoreactivity（Schwann cell marker） was decreased in sciatic *** treatment reversed these changes *** conclusion,decreased pain threshold of diabetic rats was accompanied by increased NOX and catalase expression in the spinal cord and increased degeneration in the sciatic nerve characterized by increased NOS expression and Schwann cell *** treatment attenua

In this work,some thermodynamic properties of poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate)were studied by inverse gas chromatography(IGC).For this purpose,the polymeric substance was coated on Chromosorb W and which was filled into a glass *** retention times(tr)of the probes were determined from the interactions of poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate)with n-pentane,n-hexane,n-heptane,n-octane,n-decane,methanol,ethanol,2-propanol,butanol,acetone,ethyl methyl ketone,benzene,toluene and o-xylene by IGC ***,the specific volume(V0g)was determined for each probe *** using(1/t;ln V0g)graphics,the glass transition temperature of poly(cyclohexyl methacrylate)was found to be 373 *** adsorption heat under the glass transition temperature(ΔHa),and partial molar heat of sorption above the glass transition(ΔHS1),partial molar free energy of sorption(ΔGS1)and partial molar entropy of sorption(ΔSS1)belonging to sorption for every probe were *** partial molar heat of mixing at infinite dilution(ΔH∞1),partial molar free energy of mixing at infinite dilution(ΔG∞1),Flory-Huggins interaction parameter(χ∞12)and weight fraction activity coefficient(a1/w1)∞values of polymer-solute systems were calculated at different column *** solubility parameters(δ2)of the polymer were obtained by IGC technique.
