Safety profile of 0.0015%tafluprost eye drops in China:a post-marketing observational study

AIM:To investigate the treatment pattern and safety of tafluprost for glaucoma and ocular hypertension(OH)in clinical practice in ***:This post-marketing observational study included patients who received tafluprost to lower intraocular pressure(IOP)within 30d between September 2017 and March 2020 in 20 hospitals in *** drug reactions(ADRs)during tafluprost treatment and within 30d after the treatment were ***:A total of 2544 patients were included in this study,of them 58.5%(1488/2544)had primary open angle glaucoma(POAG),21.9%(556/2544)had OH and 19.7%(500/2544)used tafluprost for other *** 359 ADRs occurred in 10.1%(258/2544)patients,and no serious adverse event *** most common ADR was conjunctival hyperemia(128 ADRs in 124 patients,4.9%).Totally 1670 participants(65.6%)combined tafluprost with carbonic anhydrase inhibitors(CAIs;37.1%,620/1670),sympathomimetics(33.5%,559/1670),β-blockers(33.2%,555/1670),other prostaglandin analogs(PGAs;15.6%,260/1670)and other eye drops(15.1%,253/1670).The highest incidence of conjunctival hyperemia was noted in patients who received tafluprost in combination with other PGAs(23 ADRs in 23 patients,8.8%,23/260)and the lowest was in combination with CAIs(16 ADRs in 16 patients,2.6%,16/620).Tafluprost was applied in primary angle-closure glaucoma(41.6%,208/500),after glaucoma surgery(17.8%,89/500)and after non-glaucoma surgery(15.8%,79/500).CONCLUSION:Tafluprost is safe for POAG and OH,and tolerable when combined with other eye drops and under various clinical circumstances.

Effects of CH_(4)/CO_(2) multi-component gas on components and properties of tight oil during CO_(2) utilization and storage: Physical experiment and composition numerical simulation

An essential technology of carbon capture, utilization and storage-enhanced oil recovery (CCUS-EOR) for tight oil reservoirs is CO_(2) huff-puff followed by associated produced gas reinjection. In this paper, the effects of multi-component gas on the properties and components of tight oil are studied. First, the core displacement experiments using the CH_(4)/CO_(2) multi-component gas are conducted to determine the oil displacement efficiency under different CO_(2) and CH_(4) ratios. Then, a viscometer and a liquid density balance are used to investigate the change characteristics of oil viscosity and density after multi-component gas displacement with different CO_(2) and CH_(4) ratios. In addition, a laboratory scale numerical model is established to validate the experimental results. Finally, a composition model of multi-stage fractured horizontal well in tight oil reservoir considering nano-confinement effects is established to investigate the effects of multi-component gas on the components of produced dead oil and formation crude oil. The experimental results show that the oil displacement efficiency of multi-component gas displacement is greater than that of single-component gas displacement. The CH_(4) decreases the viscosity and density of light oil, while CO_(2) decreases the viscosity but increases the density. And the numerical simulation results show that CO_(2) extracts more heavy components from the liquid phase into the vapor phase, while CH_(4) extracts more light components from the liquid phase into the vapor phase during cyclic gas injection. The multi-component gas can extract both the light components and the heavy components from oil, and the balanced production of each component can be achieved by using multi-component gas huff-puff.

Active immunization with GnRH-tandem-dimer peptide in young male rats reduces serum reproductive hormone concentrations, testicular development and spermatogenesis

GnRH sterilization vaccines have been developed for various practical and clinical reasons. However, conjugation of GnRH peptide to carrier protein has many drawbacks, hampering the further commercialization of GnRH vaccines. In this study, a new nonconjugated GnRH vaccine, D-Lys6-GnRH-tandem-dimer peptide （TDK）, emulsified in Specol adjuvant was investigated for its immunocastration efficacy in young male rats. Prepubertal male rats were randomly allocated into three groups （n = 12）： control （no treatment）, surgically castrated or immunized against 100 μg TDK in Specol adjuvant at 6 weeks of age （with a booster 8 weeks later）. Blood samples （for antibody titers and hormone concentrations） were collected at 2-week intervals until rats were killed （18 weeks of age）. Compared to intact controls, active immunization against TDK reduced （P〈 0.05） serum concentrations of testosterone, inhibin B, LH and FSH, prevented the onset of spermatogenesis at puberty. Furthermore, mRNA expressions of GnRH receptor, LH-β and FSH-β in the pituitary, LH receptor, FSH receptor, inhibin α, βA and βB subunit in the testes were decreased in immunocastrated rats compared to intact controls （P 〈 0.05）. These results demonstrate for the first time that GnRH-tandem-dimer peptide emulsified in Specol is a promising veterinary sterilization medicine.

Single particles in a reflection-asymmetric potential

Single particles moving in a reflection-asymmetric potential are investigated by solving the Schr6dinger equation of the reflectionasymmetric Nilsson Hamiltonian with the imaginary time method in 3D lattice space and the harmonic oscillator basis expansion method. In the 3D lattice calculation, the l2 divergence problem is avoided by introducing a damping function, and the（l2）N term in the non-spherical case is calculated by introducing an equivalent N-independent operator. The efficiency of these numerical techniques is demonstrated by solving the spherical Nilsson Hamiltonian in 3D lattice space. The evolution of the single-particle levels in a reflection-asvmmetric ootential is obtained and discussed bv the above two numerical methods, and their consistencv is shown in the obtained single-particle energies with the differences smaller than 10-4[hω0]

Improving the energy release characteristics of PTFE/Al by doping magnesium hydride

Magnesium hydride(MgH2)was doped into PTFE/Al to improve the energy release characteristics of the material system and strive for better application in military *** types of PTFE/Al/MgH2 reactive materials with different MgH2 content were prepared by molding sintering *** dynamic mechanical properties of the materials were studied by performing split-Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)tests and scanning electron microscope *** thermal behavior,reaction energy,reaction process and reaction mechanism were systematically investigated by conducting thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry tests,oxygen bomb calorimeter measurements,Xray diffraction and SHPB *** results show that MgH2 particles less than 10%content contribute to heightening the dynamic mechanical properties of PTFE/Al *** product Mg generated by decomposition of MgH2 can not only react with gas phase C2F4þbut also undergo a Grignard-type reaction with condensed *** reaction energy and ignition threshold of PTFE/Al/MgH2 reactive materials enhance monotonously as MgH2 content *** the increase of MgH2 content from 0%to 20%,the reaction time is prolonged as well as the reaction intensity is enhanced dramatically arising from the massive water vapour produced by the reaction between O2 and *** gaseous products generated can form a high pressure shortly after the reaction,which helps to elevate the damage effect of the PTFE/Al system.

Transient aeroelastic responses and flutter analysis of a variable-span wing during the morphing process

To investigate the transient aeroelastic responses and flutter characteristics of a variablespan wing during the morphing process,a novel frst-order state-space aeroelastic model is *** time-varying structural model of the morphing wing is established based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory with time-dependent boundary conditions.A nondimensionalization method is used to translate the time-dependent boundary conditions to be *** time-domain aerodynamic forces are calculated by the reduced-order unsteady vortex lattice *** morphing parameters,i.e.,wing span length and morphing speed,are of particular interest for understanding the fundamental aeroelastic behavior of variable-span wings.A test case is proposed and numerical results indicate that the flutter characteristics are sensitive to both of the two morphing *** could be noticed that the aeroelastic characteristics during the wing extracting process are more serious than those during the extending process at the same morphing speed by transient aeroelastic response *** addition,a faster morphing process can get better aeroelastic performance while the mechanism comlexity will arise.

ANALYSIS OF MECHANICS IN BALL SPINNING OF THIN-WALLED TUBE

Ball spinning is applied to manufacturing thin-walled tube with high precision and high mechanical properties. On the basis of plastic mechanics, by simplifying ball spinning of thin-walled tube as plane strain problem, slab method is used for the purpose of calculating the contact deformation pressure. The spinning force components, the torsional moment, the deformation power and the deformation work are calculated further as well. The influence of the two important process parameters such as the feed ratio and the ball diameter on the spinning force components is analyzed in order to further control the spinning force components by regulating the two process variables during the ball spinning process. The stress and strain state in deformable zone as well as mechanics boundary conditions in ball spinning are obtained. The effect of the three spinning force components on the formability of the spun part is analyzed and validated through the ball spinning experiments. The theoretical and experimental results show that the radial spinning component plays a significant role in ball spinning of thin-walled tube, and the mechanics situation in backward ball spinning contributes to enhancing the plasticity of the metal material, but that in forward ball spinning contributes to advancing the axial flow of the metal material.

New Neural Network Response Surface Methods for Reliability Analysis

This article presents two new kinds of artificial neural network （ANN） response surface methods （RSMs）： the ANN RSM based on early stopping technique （ANNRSM-1）, and the ANN RSM based on regularization theory （ANNRSM-2）. The following improvements are made to the conventional ANN RSM （ANNRSM-0）： 1） by monitoring the validation error during the training process, ANNRSM-1 determines the early stopping point and the training stopping point, and the weight vector at the early stopping point, which corresponds to the ANN model with the optimal generalization, is finally returned as the training result; 2） according to the regularization theory, ANNRSM-2 modifies the conventional training performance function by adding to it the sum of squares of the network weights, so the network weights are forced to have smaller values while the training error decreases. Tests show that the performance of ANN RSM becomes much better due to the above-mentioned improvements： first, ANNRSM-1 and ANNRSM-2 approximate to the limit state function （LSF） more accurately than ANNRSM-0; second, the estimated failure probabilities given by ANNRSM-1 and ANNRSM-2 have smaller errors than that obtained by ANNRSM-0; third, compared with ANNRSM-0, ANNRSM-1 and ANNRSM-2 require much fewer data samples to achieve stable failure probability results.

The origin of superconductivity observed at the point contact between the normal metal tip and the topological material remains uncertain due to the potential presence of superconducting elements or allotropes *** is imperative to seek out a topological material entirely free of superconducting impurities and induce superconductivity between it and normal tips to verify the source of the induced ***,we report the observation of superconductivity up to 9 K induced at point contacts between normal metal tips and the topological material grey arsenic,which is free of *** determined temperature dependencies of superconducting gapsΔ(T)deviate from the Bardeen-Cooper-Schriefer(BCS)superconductivity law,exhibiting abnormal ***,the highly anisotropic upper critical field H_(c2)(T)suggests the anisotropy of the projected interfacial Fermi *** tuning the junction resistance,we obtained a negative correlation between the superconducting gapΔand the efective barrier height Z,which validates the interfacial coupling strength as a key factor in the observed tip-induced *** experimental results provide guidance for the relevant theory about tip-induced superconductivity on topological materials.
