Furfural residues derived nitrogen-sulfur co-doped sheet-like carbon: An excellent electrode for dual carbon lithium-ion capacitors

The state-of-the-art lithium-ion capacitors （LICs）,consisting of high-capacity battery-type anode and high-rate capacitor-type cathode,can deliver high energy density and large power density when comparing with traditional supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries,***,the ion kinetics mismatch between cathode and anode leads to unsatisfied cycling lifetime and anode *** efforts have been devoted to solving the abovementioned *** promising strategy is altering high conductive hard carbon anode with excellent structural stability to match with activated carbon cathode,assembling dual-carbon *** this contribution,one-pot in-situ expansion and heteroatom doping strategy was adopted to prepare sheet-like hard carbon,while activated carbon was obtained involving *** persulfate was used as expanding and doping agent *** furfural residues （FR） were served as carbon *** resulting hard carbon （FRNS-HC） and activated carbon （FRNS-AC）show excellent electrochemical performance as negative and positive electrodes in a lithium-ion battery （LIB）.To be specific,374.2 m Ah g-1and 123.1 m Ah g-1can be achieved at 0.1 A g-1and 5 A g-1when FRNS-HC was tested as *** combined with a highly porous carbon cathode (SBET=2961 m2g-1) synthesized from the same precursor,the LIC showed high specific energy of147.67 Wh kg-1at approximately 199.93 W kg-1,and outstanding cycling life with negligible capacitance fading over 1000 *** study could lead the way for the development of heteroatom-doped porous carbon nanomaterials applied to Li-based energy storage applications.

Seasonal prediction of extreme high-temperature days over the Yangtze River basin

Extreme high temperatures occur frequently over the densely populated Yangtze River basin(YRB)in China during summer,significantly impacting the local economic development and ecological ***,accurate prediction of extreme high-temperature days in this region remains a ***,the Climate Forecast System Version 2(CFSv2)exhibits poor performance in this ***,based on the interannual increment approach,we develop a hybrid seasonal prediction model over the YRB(HM_(YRB))to improve the prediction of extreme high-temperature days in *** HM_(YRB)relies on the following four predictors:the observed preceding April-May snowmelt in north western Europe;the snow depth in March over the central Siberian Plateau;the CFSv2-forecasted concurrent summer sea surface temperatures around the Maritime Continent;and the 200-hPa geopotential height over the Tibetan *** HM_(YRB)indicates good capabilities in predicting the interannual variability and trend of extreme high-temperature days,with a markable correlation coefficient of 0.58 and a percentage of the same sign(PSS)of 76% during 1983-2015 in the one-year-out ***,the HM_(YRB) maintains high PSS skill(86%)and robustness in the independent prediction period(2016-2022).Furthermore,the HM_(YRB) shows a good performance for years with high occurrence of extreme high-temperature days,with a hit ratio of 40%.These predictors used in HM_(YRB)are beneficial in terms of the prediction skill for the average daily maximum temperature in summer over the YRB,albeit with biases existing in the *** study provides promising insights into the prediction of 2022-like hot extremes over the YRB in China.

Suppressing Wnt signaling of the blood-tumor barrier to intensify drug delivery and inhibit lipogenesis of brain metastases

Lipogenesis is often highly upregulated in breast cancer brain metastases to adapt to intracranial low lipid *** inhibitors hold therapeutic potential but their intra-tumoral distribution is often blocked by the blood-tumor barrier(BTB).BTB activates its Wnt signaling to maintain barrier properties,e.g.,Mfsd2a-mediated BTB low ***,we reported VCAM-1-targeting nano-wogonin(W@V-NPs)as an adjuvant of nano-orlistat(O@V-NPs)to intensify drug delivery and inhibit lipogenesis of brain metastases.W@V-NPs were proven to be able to inactivate BTB Wnt signaling,downregulate BTB Mfsd2a,accelerate BTB vesicular transport,and enhance tumor accumulation of O@*** the ability to specifically kill cancer cells in a lipid-deprived environment with IC_(50) at 48 ng/mL,W@V-NPs plus O@V-NPs inhibited the progression of brain metastases with prolonged survival of model *** combination did not induce brain edema,cognitive impairment,and systemic toxicity in healthy *** Wnt signaling could safely modulate the BTB to improve drug delivery and metabolic therapy against brain metastases.

High toughness and CMAS resistance of REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)(RE=La,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,and Dy)composites with eutectic composition for thermal barrier coatings

Although rare earth zirconates(RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7))have garnered attention as viable candidates for thermal barrier coatings(TBCs),they suffer from low fracture toughness and accelerated calcium–magnesium–alumina–silicate(CMAS)melt corrosion at high service temperatures,which impedes their practical *** this work,we developed a series of REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)(RE=La,Nd,Sm,Eu,Gd,and Dy)composites with a eutectic composition that not only significantly enhanced the fracture toughness by more than 40%relative to that of RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)but also exhibited improved resistance to CMAS *** increase in toughness arises from multiple mechanisms,such as ferroelastic toughening,fine-grain strengthening,and residual stress toughening,all of which trigger more crack defects and energy ***,the CMAS penetration depth of the REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)composites is approximately 36%lower than that of RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7).Al–O constituents in composites can capture CaO,SiO_(2),and MgO in CMAS melts and increase their viscosity,resulting in enhanced CMAS corrosion *** thermophysical properties of the REAlO_(3)/RE_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)composites were also investigated,and their coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity are comparable to those of 7–8 wt%Y_(2)O_(3)partially stabilized ZrO2(YSZ),indicating their potential as TBC materials.

PAHs removal by soil washing with thiacalix[4]arene tetrasulfonate

Remediating soil contaminated with polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)presents a significant environmental challenge due to their toxic and carcinogenic *** PAHs remediation methodsdchemical,thermal,and bioremediationdalong with conventional soil-washing agents like surfactants and cyclodextrins face challenges of cost,ecological harm,and *** we show an effective and environmentally friendly calixarene derivative for PAHs removal through soil ***[4]arene tetrasulfonate(TCAS)has a unique molecular structure of a sulfonate group and a sulfur atom,which enhances its solubility and facilitates selective binding with *** forms host-guest complexes with PAHs through p-p stacking,OH-p interactions,hydrogen bonding,van der Waals forces,and electrostatic *** interactions enable partial encapsulation of PAH molecules,aiding their desorption from the soil *** results show that a 0.7%solution of TCAS can extract approximately 50%of PAHs from contaminated soil while preserving soil nutrients and minimizing adverse environmental *** research unveils the pioneering application of TCAS in removing PAHs from contaminated soil,marking a transformative advancement in resource-efficient and sustainable soil remediation strategies.

The size effect and analogous boundary states in a circular non-Hermitian chain

We investigate the size effect and boundary states based on a circular non-Hermitian chain under the nonreciprocal intra-cell coupling and inter-cell coupling *** find that the circular non-Hermitian chain exhibits an even–odd effect on the unit cell corresponding to a large chain,which is different from the open non-Hermitian chain only exhibiting the same effect for a small ***,we find that the originally localized bulk states become totally extended via designing the boundary coupling strength *** extended bulk states reveal the fact of the disappearance of the non-Hermitian skin *** particular,we show that the circular non-Hermitian chain also possesses the analogous edge states under some parameter regimes,which is pretty counterintuitive since the circular chain usually cannot define a *** investigations supply the different non-Hermitian phenomena in a circular non-Hermitian chain.

A Review on the Influence of In-cylinder Turbulence Type on Combustion Characteristics of High Power-Density Diesel Engine

With the continuous improvement of performance requirements， direct injection diesel engines have gradually developed towards more small， lightweight， and high power， named as high power-density. It needs more injected fuel can be mixed and burn at the same duration time to guarantee the thermal-power conversion effects. It is required that the combustion system has a fast mixing speed of fuel and gas， and a fast combustion speed. Organizing appropriate cylinder turbulence is an effective means of optimizing combustion to reach requirements. The current work is aim to investigates and summarizes the influence of different types of in cylinder turbulence coursed by intake， spray， and combustion chamber configuration on the performance of a highly intensified diesel engine from the three causes of turbulence. The comparative study found that the adoption of a separate combustion chamber， the increase of intake swirl and number of nozzles can have positive effect on the optimization of the combustion process of a highly intensified diesel engine， but for different combustion chamber types， the influence of intake swirl and spray parameters was different. The separated combustion chamber is more sensitive to spray parameters than the combustion chamber without wall guide design. Compared with the transverse separated combustion chamber， the longitudinal separated combustion chamber is more suitable for large intake swirl ratio. For a specific combustion chamber structure， both intake swirl and spray parameters have optimal values.

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs)are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal(GI)tract,and cases of GISTs tend to be of the disseminated type,with a global incidence of 10 to 15 cases/million each *** rarer familial GISTs,which often represent a population,differ in screening,diagnosis,and *** GISTs include primary familial GISTs with predominantly KIT/PDGFRA mutations and wild-type ***,whether the same genetic family has different phenotypes has not been *** SUMMARY We report two cases of rare GISTs in the same family:A male patient with the V561D mutation in exon 12 of the PDGFRA gene,who has been taking the targeted drug imatinib since undergoing surgery,and a female patient diagnosed with wild-type GIST,who has been taking imatinib for 3 years since undergoing *** favorable prognosis of these patients during the 7-year follow-up period validates the accuracy of our treatment strategy,and we have refined the entire process of diagnosis and treatment of familial GISTs in order to better manage this rare familial *** Different mutation types of familial GISTs in the same family are very rare,thus it is very important to make the correct diagnosis and treatment strategies according to the results of molecular detection for the management of familial GISTs.

Shuxuening Injection Inhibits Apoptosis and Reduces Myocardial Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury in Rats through PI3K/AKT Pathway

Objective: To investigate the main components and potential mechanism of Shuxuening Injection(SXNI) in the treatment of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(MIRI) through network pharmacology and in vivo research. Methods: The Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology(TCMSP) and Pharm Mapper databases were used to extract and evaluate the effective components of Ginkgo biloba leaves, the main component of SXNI. The Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM) and Gene Cards databases were searched for disease targets and obtain the drug target and disease target intersections. The active ingredient-target network was built using Cytoscape 3.9.1 software. The STRING database, Metascape online platform, and R language were used to obtain the key targets and signaling pathways of the anti-MIRI effects of SXNI. In order to verify the therapeutic effect of different concentrations of SXNI on MIRI in rats, 60 rats were first divided into 5 groups according to random number table method: the sham operation group, the model group, SXNI low-dose(3.68 mg/kg), medium-dose(7.35 mg/kg), and high-dose(14.7 mg/kg) groups, with 12 rats in each group. Then, another 60 rats were randomly divided into 5 groups: the sham operation group, the model group, SXNI group(14.7 mg/kg), SXNI+LY294002 group,and LY294002 group, with 12 rats in each group. The drug was then administered intraperitoneally at body weight for 14 days. The main biological processes were validated using in vivo testing. Evans blue/triphenyltetrazolium chloride(TTC) double staining, hematoxylin-eosin(HE) staining, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), and Western blot analysis were used to investigate the efficacy and mechanism of SXNI in MIRI rats.
