BACKGROUND Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma(UPS)is a rare malignant mesenchymal tumor with a poor *** mainly occurs in the extremities,trunk,head and neck,and retroperitoneum *** to the lack of specific clinical manifestations and imaging features,UPS diagnosis mainly depends on pathological and immunohistochemical examinations for exclusive *** we report an extremely rare case of high-grade UPS in the common bile duct(CBD).There are limited available data on such *** SUMMARY A 70-year-old woman was admitted to our department with yellow eyes and urine accompanied by upper abdominal distending pain for 2 *** laboratory data suggested significantly elevated hepatorenal function *** imaging data revealed calculous cholecystitis,intrahepatic and extrahepatic bile duct dilation with extrahepatic bile duct calculi,and a space-occupying lesion at the distal *** endoscopic biliary stenting and symptomatic support therapy,CBD exploration and biopsy were *** frozen section indicated malignant spindle cell tumor of the CBD mass,and further radical pancreaticoduodenectomy was ***,the neoplasm was diagnosed as a high-grade UPS combined with the light-microscopic morphology and immunohistochemical *** This extremely rare case highlighted the need for increasing physicians'vigilance,reducing the odds of misdiagnosis,and providing appropriate treatment strategies.

Sulfated Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharides exert immunomodulatory potential on macrophages via Toll-like receptor 4 mediated MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathways

The biological activity of plant polysaccharides can be enhanced by sulfated *** this study,the immunomodulatory effect of sulfated Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharides(SCP3)on macrophages RAW264.7 and its potential molecular mechanism were *** showed that SCP3 at 25-100μg/m L increased viability and improved phagocytosis of RAW264.7 ***,SCP3 could activate mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathways,which increased the phosphorylation of Erk1/2,JNK,p38 and NF-κB p65,promoting secretion of cytokines tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α),interleukin 6(IL-6)and nitric oxide(NO)as well as the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS).In addition,Toll-like receptor 4(TLR4)receptor inhibitors were able to block the production of NO and TNF-αby SCP3-stimulated *** on Western blot analysis and validation using specific inhibitors against MAPK and NF-κB signaling pathways,the results demonstrated that SCP3 induced macrophages activation and enhanced TNF-αand NO production via TLR4-mediated MAPK and NF-κB *** summary,SCP3 has significant immunomodulatory *** underlying molecular mechanism was that SCP3 activates macrophages via TLR4 receptors to promote ROS production,which in turn activates the downstream MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway and then increases the secretion levels of cytokines and NO.

Perovskite oxides with diverse composition and structure have exhibited grand advances in boosting the oxygen reduction and evolution reaction(ORR/OER),which are essential for the reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cell(R-PCEC)toward the sustainable hydrogen production and ***,enhancement of their activity and stability remains ***,we develop the Ta-regulated BaCo_(0.7)Fe_(0.3)O_(3-δ)perovskite oxygen electrode(Ba(Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.3))_(1-x)Ta_xO_(3-δ))with abundant oxygen defects and achieve the simultaneous enhancement in the electrocatalytic activity and stability toward ORR and ***-fabricated R-PCEC with(Ba(Co_(0.7)Fe_(0.3))_(0.9)Ta_(0.1)O_(3-δ))(BCFT10)oxygen electrode performs high power density of 1.47 W·cm^(-2)at 650℃in fuel cell mode,and the current density is up to-2.11 A·cm^(-2)at 1.4 V at 650℃in electrolysis mode,as well as the good stability in both the fuel cell and electrolysis ***,the cell also demonstrates a stable cycling operation between fuel cell and electrolysis mode,suggesting a great potential of BCFT10 as oxygen electrode material for R-PCECs.

Sequential reactant water management by complementary multisite catalysts for surpassing platinum hydrogen evolution activity

Alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)offers a near-zero-emission approach to advance hydrogen ***,the activity limited by the multiple reaction steps involving H_(2)O molecules transfer,absorption,and activation still unqualified the thresholds of economic ***,we proposed a multisite complementary strategy that incorporates hydrophilic Mo and electrophilic V into Ni-based catalysts to divide the distinct steps on atomically dispersive sites and thus realize sequential regulation of the HER *** Isotopic labeled in situ Raman spectroscopy describes 4-coordinated hydrogen bonded H_(2)O to be free H_(2)O passing the inner Helmholtz plane in the vicinity of the catalysts under the action of hydrophilic Mo ***,potential-dependent electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS)reveals that electrophilic V sites with abundant 3d empty orbitals could activate the lone-pair electrons in the free H_(2)O molecules to produce more protic hydrogen,and dimerize into H_(2) at the Ni *** the sequential management of reactive H_(2)O molecules,NiMoV oxides multisite catalysts surpass Pt/C hydrogen evolution activity(49 mV@10 mA∙cm^(-2) over 140 h).Profoundly,this study provides a tangible model to deepen the comprehension of the catalyst–electrolyte interface and create efficient catalysts for diverse reactions.

As an ultrasmall derivative of black phosphorus(BP)sheets,BP quantum dots(BP-QDs)have been effectively used in many ***,information on the cardiotoxicity induced by BP-QDs remains *** aimed to evaluate BP-QD-induced cardiac toxicity in *** examination of heart tissue sections was *** sequencing,real-time quantitative PCR(RT–qPCR),western blotting,and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)assays were used to detect the m RNA and/or protein expression of proinfammatory cytokines,nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB),phosphatidylinositol3 kinase-protein kinase B(PI3K-AKT),peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma(PPARγ),and glucose/lipid metabolism pathway-related *** found that heart weight and heart/body weight index(HBI)were significantly reduced in mice after intragastric administration of 0.1 or 1 mg/kg BP-QDs for 28 *** addition,obvious infammatory cell infiltration and increased cardiomyocyte diameter were observed in the BP-QD-treated *** expression of proinfammatory cytokines and genes related to the NF-κB signaling pathway further confirmed that BP-QD exposure induced infammatory *** addition,BP-QD treatment also affected the PI3K-AKT,PPARγ,thermogenesis,oxidative phosphorylation,and cardiac muscle contraction signaling *** expression of genes related to glucose/lipid metabolism signaling pathways was dramatically affected by BP-QD exposure,and the effect was primarily mediated by the PPAR signaling *** study provides new insights into the toxicity of BP-QDs to human health.

Investigation of Ce/BEA as a passive NO_(x)adsorber:*** aging deactivation mechanism

Ce/BEA has the potential to be applied as a novel passive NO_(x)absorber(PNA)in the after-treatment of vehicles due to its considerable NO_(x)storage ***,as a vehicle exhaust after-treatment material,it must withstand the test of long-term hydrothermal *** work examined the deactivation mechanism of Ce/BEA during hydrothermal aging.3.0 wt%Ce/BEA was prepared using the ionexchange method,and then subjected to hydrothermal treatment at 650℃with 10%H_(2)O for 1-12 h to obtain samples with different aging *** comparison,the H-BEA support was aged under the same ***-Emmett-Teller(BET)method,X-ray diffraction(XRD),NH_(3)temperature programmed reduction(NH_(3)-TPD),^(27)Al MAS nuclear magnetic resonance(^(27)Al MAS NMR),H_(2)temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR),and high resolution-transmission electron microscopy(HR-TEM)were performed to characterize the changes in PNA performance,structure,Ce species,and *** HR-TEM and H_(2)-TPR results show that CeO_(x)particles appear after hydrothermal aging,which results from the detachment and aggregation of active Ce *** on the^(27)Al MAS NMR results,we conclude that BEA zeolite dealumination leads to the loss of acidic sites and the transformation of active Ce species on the acidic sites into the less active CeO_(x).This is the primary reason for the hydrothermal aging deactivation of Ce/BEA.

Aluminum is the primary structural material in nuclear engineering,and its cross section induced by 14-MeV neutrons is of great *** address the issue of insufficient accuracy for the^(27)Al(n,2n)^(26)Al reaction cross section,the activation method and accelerator mass spectrometry(AMS)technique were used to determine the^(27)Al(n,2n)^(26)Al cross section,which could be used as a D-T plasma ion temperature monitor in fusion *** the China Academy of Engineering Physics,neutron activation was performed using a K-400 neutron generator produced by the T(d,n)4He ***^(26)Al∕^(27)Al isotope ratios were measured using the newly installed GyiG 1 MV AMS at the Institute of Geochemistry,Chinese Academy of *** neutron flux was monitored by measuring the activity of 92mNb produced by the 93Nb(n,2n)92mNb *** measured results were compared with available data in the experimental nuclear reaction database,and the measured values showed a reasonable degree of consistency with partially available literature *** newly acquired cross-sectional data at 12 neutron energy points through systematic measurements clarified the divergence,which has two different growth trends from the existing experimental *** obtained results are also compared with the corresponding evaluated database,and the newly calculated excitation functions with TALYS−1.95 and EMPIRE−3.2 codes,the agreement with CENDL−3.2,TENDL-2021 and EMPIRE−3.2 results are generally acceptable.A substantial improvement in the knowledge of the^(27)Al(n,2n)^(26)Al reaction excitation function was obtained in the present work,which will lay the foundation for the diagnosis of the fusion ion temperature,testing of the nuclear physics model,evaluation of nuclear data,etc.

An Aerial–Wall Robotic Insect That Can Land, Climb, and Take Off from Vertical Surfaces

Insects that can perform flapping-wing flight,climb on a wall,and switch smoothly between the 2 locomotion regimes provide us with excellent biomimetic ***,very few biomimetic robots can perform complex locomotion tasks that combine the 2 abilities of climbing and ***,we describe an aerial–wall amphibious robot that is self-contained for flying and climbing,and that can seamlessly move between the air and *** adopts a flapping/rotor hybrid power layout,which realizes not only efficient and controllable flight in the air but also attachment to,and climbing on,the vertical wall through a synergistic combination of the aerodynamic negative pressure adsorption of the rotor power and a climbing mechanism with bionic adhesion *** the basis of the attachment mechanism of insect foot pads,the prepared biomimetic adhesive materials of the robot can be applied to various types of wall surfaces to achieve stable *** longitudinal axis layout design of the rotor dynamics and control strategy realize a unique cross-domain movement during the flying–climbing transition,which has important implications in understanding the takeoff and landing of ***,it enables the robot to cross the air–wall boundary in 0.4 s(landing),and cross the wall–air boundary in 0.7 s(taking off).The aerial–wall amphibious robot expands the working space of traditional flying and climbing robots,which can pave the way for future robots that can perform autonomous visual monitoring,human search and rescue,and tracking tasks in complex air–wall environments.
