Based on the building principle of additive manufacturing,printing orientation mainly determines the tribological properties of joint *** this study,we created a polyether-ether-ketone(PEEK)joint prosthesis using fused filament fabrication and investigated the effects of printing orientation on its tribological properties using a pin-on-plate tribometer in 25% newborn calf *** ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene transfer film is formed on the surface of PEEK due to the mechanical capture of wear debris by the 3D-printed groove morphology,which is significantly impacted by the printing orientation of *** the printing orientation was parallel to the sliding direction of friction,the number and size of the transfer film increased due to higher steady *** transfer film protected the matrix and reduced the friction coefficient and wear rate of friction pairs by 39.13%and 74.33%,***,our findings provide a novel perspective regarding the role of printing orientation in designing knee prostheses,facilitating its practical applications.

With the large-scale service of lithium-ion batteries(liBs),their failures have attracted significant *** the decay of active materials is the primary cause for liB failures,the degradation of auxiliary materials,such as current collector corrosion,should not be ***,it is necessary to conduct a comprehensive review in this *** this review,from the perspectives of electrochemistry and materials,we systematically summarize the corrosion behavior of aluminum cathode current collector and propose corresponding ***,the corrosion type is clarified based on the properties of passivation layers in different organic electrolyte ***,a thoroughgoing analysis is presented to examine the impact of various factors on aluminum corrosion,including lithium salts,organic solvents,water impurities,and operating ***,strategies for electrolyte and protection layer employed to suppress corrosion are discussed in *** and most importantly,we provide insights and recommendations to prevent corrosion of current collectors,facilitate the development of advanced current collectors and the implementation of next-generation high-voltage stable liBs.

Space metallurgy is an interdisciplinary field that combines planetary space science and metallurgical *** involves systematic and theoretical engineering technology for utilizing planetary resources in ***,space metallurgy on the Moon is challenging because the lunar surface has experienced space weathering due to the lack of atmosphere and magnetic field,making the mi-crostructure of lunar soil differ from that of minerals on the *** this study,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy analyses were performed on Chang’e-5 powder lunar soil *** microstructural characteristics of the lunar soil may drastically change its metallurgical *** main special structure of lunar soil minerals include the nanophase iron formed by the impact of micrometeorites,the amorphous layer caused by solar wind injection,and radiation tracks modified by high-energy particle rays inside mineral *** nanophase iron presents a wide distribution,which may have a great impact on the electromagnetic prop-erties of lunar *** ions injected by solar wind may promote the hydrogen reduction *** widely distributed amorph-ous layer and impact glass can promote the melting and diffusion process of lunar ***,although high-energy events on the lun-ar surface transform the lunar soil,they also increase the chemical activity of the lunar *** is a property that earth samples and tradi-tional simulated lunar soil *** application of space metallurgy requires comprehensive consideration of the unique physical and chemical properties of lunar soil.

Designing materials that mitigate impacts effectively are crucial for protecting people and ***,a single-resonator metamaterial with negative mass characteristics is proposed for impact mitigation,and numerical analysis of wave propagation shows explicitly how the spring stiffness and number of unit cells influence that *** results show clearly that a metamaterial with differing microstructural stiffness is better at mitigating the effect of a shock wave than one with a unique ***,there is a critical number of unit cells beyond which the shock wave is not attenuated further,but the fabrication complexity *** the 40 groups of microstructural regions in this example,the attenuation effect no longer increases when there are more than 35 *** work offers guidance for microstructure designs in metamaterials and provides new ideas for using metamaterials to mitigate shock waves.

The discrimination of liquors plays a vital role in our daily life as a large amount of cheap alcoholic beverages and low-quality counterfeits greatly damage the health of ***-based optical sensors have been developed as a fast and effective tool to discriminate multi-analytes or complex mixtures with similar structures,such as acids,esters,aldehydes and *** the past decades,optical sensor arrays have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in fast and accurate detection of diverse types,qualities,and authentic *** identification strategy mainly focuses on the specific/non-specific interactions of flavor compounds in liquors with sensor *** cross-reactive optical signal readouts from the combination of sensor elements with liquors and multiple machine learning algorithms are essential to ensure the discriminatory capability of sensing *** this review,we discuss the advantages and recent advances in pattern recognition of liquors in terms of the design of various types of sensing materials and the construction strategies of sensor arrays.

Rubbers or elastomers play an important role in hi-tech technology and civilian daily life because of their unique and strategical ***,the rubber additives are essential components for rubbers’practical ***,developing novel multifunctional additives has attracted increasing research *** this work,low-cost crude carbon dots(CCDs)were used as multifunctional additives for natural rubber/silica system(without any additional modification)through industrial compatible melt-mixing *** results revealed that the CCDs could disperse well in the NR/silica system,and they could not only endow the rubber compound with excellent anti-aging capability due to CCDs’radical scavenging activity because of their plenty of nitrogen-containing species,but also improve the curing rate and mechanical performance of the rubber ***,the CCDs could reduce the rolling resistance of the rubber composites(tanδvalue at 7%strain of the rubber composite could be decreased by 34%),which is promising for the application of energy-saving tire ***,the addition of CCDs could effectively reduce the ZnO dosage by at least 40%in the rubber composite without deteriorating its ***,this work provides valuable guidance to develop novel cheap yet effective additives for the elastomer.

X-ray excited photodynamic therapy(X-PDT)is the bravo answer of photodynamic therapy(PDT)for deep-seated tumors,as it employs X-ray as the irradiation source to overcome the limitation of light penetration ***,high X-ray irradiation dose caused organ lesions and side effects became the major barrier to X-PDT *** address this issue,this work employed a classic-al co-precipitation reaction to synthesize NaLuF_(4):15%Tb^(3+)(NLF)with an average particle size of(23.48±0.91)nm,which was then coupled with the photosensitizer merocyanine 540(MC540)to form the X-PDT system NLF-MC540 with high production of singlet *** system could induce antitumor efficacy to about 24%in relative low dose X-ray irradiation range(0.1-0.3 Gy).In vivo,when NLF-MC540 irradiated by 0.1 Gy X-ray,the tumor inhibition percentage reached 89.5%±5.7%.The therapeutic mechanism of low dose X-PDT was found.A significant increase of neutrophils in serum was found on the third day after *** immunohistochemical staining of tumor sections,the Ly6G^(+),CD8^(+),and CD11c^(+)cells infiltrated in the tumor microenvironment were *** the bilat-eral tumor model,the NLF-MC540 with 0.1 Gy X-ray irradiation could inhibit both the primary tumor and the distant tumor ***-tected by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(EliSA),two cytokines IFN-γand TNF-αin serum were upregulated 7 and 6 times than negative control,*** by enzyme linked immune spot assay(EliSPOT),the number of immune cells attributable to the IFN-γand TNF-αlevels in the group of low dose X-PDT were 14 and 6 times greater than that in the negative control group,***,it conclude that low dose X-PDT system could successfully upregulate the levels of immune cells,stimulate the secretion of cy-tokines(especially IFN-γand TNF-α),activate antitumor immunity,and finally inhibit colon tumor growth.

Objectives This study aimed at investigating the cellular mechanism of isoproterenol （ISO） on delayed afterdepolarizations （DADs） and triggered activity （TA） of the noninfarcted myocardium in the myocardial infarcted rabbit *** Rabbits with the left anterior descending coronary artery occlusion were prepared and recovered for 8 wk （healed myocardial infarction, HMI）. Myocytes were isolated from regions of the noninfarcted left ventricular free wall. ISO was added to cellular surface by perfusion way. Action potentials and ion currents were recorded with whole-cell patch clamp. Results The results showed that treatment with ISO induced more DADs and TA events in HMI myocytes. Iti and IC,_L of myocytes treated with ISO were increased significantly compared with HMI cells, which contributed to DADs-related triggered arrhythmia. Conclusions The results suggested that more arrhythmia events of DADs and TA developed in myocytes with ISO treatment. The underlying mechanism was associated with the augment of I6 and calcium influxing

Background Transvaginal oocyte retrieval is frequently followed by adverse events related to anesthesia and the *** research showed that transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)can relieve intraoperative pain and postoperative *** This study examined whether TEAS can alleviate pain and relieve adverse symptoms after oocyte ***,setting,participants and interventions Altogether 128 patients were randomly divided into the TEAS group and the mock TEAS *** two groups received a 30-minute-long TEAS or mock TEAS treatment that began 30 min after oocyte *** outcome measures The primary outcome was the visual analog scale(VAS)pain *** outcomes were pressure pain threshold,McGill score,pain rating index(PRI),present pain intensity(PPI),VAS stress score,VAS anxiety score,and postoperative adverse *** The baseline characteristics of the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).The VAS pain scores of the TEAS group were lower than those of the mock TEAS group at 60 and 90 min after oocyte retrieval(P0.05).The TEAS group was superior to the mock TEAS group for relieving postoperative adverse symptoms(Plieve postoperative pain and postoperative adverse symptoms for patients undergoing oocyte retrieval.
