Rhodanine derivatives as novel peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor γ agonists

Aim:To characterize the in vitro bioactivities of rhodanine derivatives as novelperoxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR)γ modulators,based on a hit(SH00012671) identified during high-throughput screening (HTS) of a diversesynthetic compound library,and to preliminarily elucidate the structure-activityrelationship of this class of PPARγ ***:Full-length PPARγ andretinoid X receptor α(RXRα),biotinylated PPAR response element (PPRE),[~3H]BRL49653 (rosiglitazone),and streptavidin-coated FlashPlate or microbeadswere used to measure the receptor-binding properties of various compounds basedon the scintillation proximity assay (SPA) technology.A recombinant PPRE vec-tor was transiently cotransfected with PPARγ and RXRα plasmids into the Africangreen monkey kidney (CV-1) cells,and the effects of BRL49653 and test com-pounds on transcription mediated by PPARγ were determined by examining lu-ciferase (reporter) responses.3T3-L1 cells were employed to determine whetherthe compounds facilitated adipogenesis upon PPARγ ***:Of the16 000 samples screened with the SPA method,only 1 compound (SH00012671)displayed a similar binding affinity (Ki=186.7 nmol/L) to PPARγ as BRL49653,butit was inactive in the cell-based assays.A series of rhodanine derivatives weresynthesized based on the core structure of SH00012671 and 8 of them showedagonist activities in both cotransfection and pre-adipocyte differentiation *** reduce intrinsic cytotoxicities,the sulphur on the rhodanine was changed *** alteration led to a decrease in receptor-binding affinities while modi-fied analogues generally maintained agonist efficacies in the cell-based *** the analogues studied,compound 31 exhibited about 70% the efficacy exertedby BRL49653 in both cotransfection and pre-adipocyte differentiation ***:Through minor chemical modifications on the core structure of theinitial HTS hit,SH00012671 was transformed to possess both molecular (PPARγ

Dear Editor,This letter deals with the stabilization problem of nonlinear stochastic systems via self-triggered impulsive control(STIC), where the timing of impulsive control actions is not dependent on continuous state monitoring. In contrast to the existing self-triggered control method, novel self-triggered mechanism(STM) is proposed by incorporating a waiting time for stabilizing impulses. This allows for direct prediction of the next impulsive instant.

The precision of landslide displacement prediction is crucial for effective landslide prevention and mitigation ***,the role of surface monitoring frequency in influencing prediction accuracy has been largely *** study examined the effect of varying monitoring frequencies on the accuracy of displacement predictions by using the Baijiabao landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area(TGRA)as a case *** collected surface automatic monitoring data at different intervals,ranging from daily to *** Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition(EEMD)algorithm was utilized to dissect the accumulated displacements into periodic and trend components at each monitoring *** fitting was applied to forecast the trend component while the periodic component was predicted with two state-of-the-art neural network models:Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)and Gated Recurrent Unit(GRU).The predictions from these models were integrated to derive cumulative displacement forecasts,enabling a comparative analysis of prediction accuracy across different monitoring *** results demonstrate that the proposed models achieve high accuracy in landslide displacement forecasting,with optimal performance observed at moderate monitoring ***,the daily mean average error(MAE)decreases sharply with increasing monitoring frequency,reaching a *** findings were corroborated by a parallel analysis of the Bazimen landslide,suggesting that moderate monitoring intervals of approximately 7 to 15 days are most conducive to achieving enhanced prediction accuracy compared to both daily and monthly intervals.

Orbital XY models in moiré superlattices

Moiré superlattices provide a new platform to engineer various many-body problems. In this work, we consider arrays of quantum dots(QD) realized on semiconductor moiré superlattices with a deep moiré potential. We diagonalize single QD with multiple electrons, and find degenerate ground states serving as local degrees of freedom(qudits) in the superlattice. With a deep moiré potential, the hopping and exchange interaction between nearby QDs become irrelevant,and the direct Coulomb interaction of the density–density type dominates. Therefore, nearby QDs must arrange the spatial densities to optimize the Coulomb energy. When the local Hilbert space has a two-fold orbital degeneracy, we find that a square superlattice realizes an anisotropic XY model, while a triangular superlattice realizes a generalized XY model with geometric frustration.

CoTCPP integrates with BiOBr microspheres for improved solar-driven CO_(2)reduction performance

CO_(2) photoreduction into carbon-based chemicals has been considered as an appropriate way to alleviate the energy issue and greenhouse ***,the 5,10,15,20-tetra(4-carboxyphenyl)porphyrin cobalt(II)(CoTCPP)has been integrated with BiOBr microspheres and formed the CoTCPP/BiOBr *** as-prepared CoTCPP/BiOBr-2 composite shows optimized photocatalytic performance for CO_(2) conversion into CO and CH_(4) upon irradiation with 300 W Xe lamp,which is 2.03 and 2.58 times compared to that of BiOBr,*** introduced CoTCPP significantly enhanced light absorption properties,promoted rapid separation of photogenerated carriers and boosted the chemisorption of CO_(2) *** metal Co^(2+) at the center of the porphyrin molecules also acts as adsorption center for CO_(2) molecules,accelerating the CO_(2) conversion into CO and CH_(4).The possible mechanism of CO_(2) photoreduction was explored by in-situ FT-IR *** work offers a new possibility for the preparation of advanced photocatalysts.

Mesospheric tide comparisons at low latitudes observed by two collocated meteor radars

Accurate knowledge of mesospheric winds and waves is essential for studying the dynamics and climate in the mesosphere and lower thermosphere(MLT)*** this study,we conduct a comparative analysis of the mesosphere tidal results obtained from two adjacent meteor radars at low latitudes in Kunming,China,from November 2013 to December *** two radars operate at different frequencies of 37.5 MHz and 53.1 MHz,***,overall good agreement is observed between the two radars in terms of horizontal winds and tide *** results show that the dominant tidal waves of the zonal and meridional winds are diurnal and semidiurnal ***,we conduct an exhaustive statistical analysis to compare the tidal amplitudes and vertical wavelengths recorded by the dual radar systems,which reveals a high degree of alignment in tidal *** investigation includes variances and covariances of tidal amplitudes,which demonstrate remarkable consistency across measurements from both *** finding highlights clear uniformity in the mesospheric tidal patterns observed at low latitudes by the two neighboring meteor *** of the comparative analysis specifically underscore the significant correlation in vertical wavelength measurements,validating the robustness of radar observations for tidal research.

Influencing factors of early post-traumatic stress disorder in young and middle-aged individuals with open globe injuries in west China:a cross-sectional study

AIM:To evaluate the prevalence of early post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD)among young and middle-aged patients who have suffered open globe injuries,and to identify the psychosocial factors influencing PTSD in these ***:A total of 280 patients who underwent ocular trauma surgery between January 2023 and January 2024 were selected through convenience *** were collected using a custom-designed demographic questionnaire,the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CDRISC),the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire(C-ERRI),and the PTSD Checklist-Civilian Version(PCL-C).Univariate analysis and stepwise multiple linear regression analysis were performed to determine the factors affecting PTSD in these ***:The average PTSD score for the patients was 33.22±*** scores for individual PTSD dimensions,ranked from highest to lowest,were recurrent traumatic experiences,heightened arousal,avoidance reactions,and social *** PTSD symptoms were observed in 85 patients(30.36%).Univariate analysis indicated that gender,postoperative vision,marital status,psychological resilience,and rumination were significant factors affecting PTSD symptoms(χ^(2)/t=6.53,17.88,8.83,2.17,and 14.1,respectively;all Plience and PTSD symptoms(r=-0.14,Plinear regression analysis identified postoperative vision(notably eye removal),rumination levels,and psychological resilience(optimism)as major factors influencing PTSD in these patients(R^(2)=0.57,Plience(optimism).Conversely,patients with good postoperative vision recovery,low rumination l
