Association between routine hematological parameters and sudden sensorineural hearing loss:A meta-analysis

Objective:Recent studies have shown that chronic inflammation contributes to the development of sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSNHL).Some hematologic parameters have also been linked to the prognosis of ***,the prognostic value of such hematological factors is not *** study explored the association of routine hematological parameters with ***:A systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science and Embase to identify eligible *** mean deviation(SMD)and the 95%confidence interval(CI)were retried from relevant studies for ***,subgroup,and publication bias analyses were ***:A total of 18 studies involving 1505 SSNHL patients and 1466 healthy persons were enrolled in the final *** study population included 699 responders and 458 non-responders to *** results revealed that the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR)and platelet/lymphocyte ratio(PLR)value in the SSNHL patient group were higher than in the healthy group(SMD=1.05,95%CI:0.86,1.24,p<0.001,SMD=0.52,95%CI:0.26,0.78,p<0.001,respectively).However,there was no significant difference in the mean platelet volumes(MPV)between the groups(SMD=0.03,95%CI:0.44,0.49,p=0.91).Notably,NLR and PLR values were evidently higher in the unrecovered group than in the recovered group(SMD=0.63,95%CI:1.02,0.23,p=0.002,SMD=0.4,95%CI:0.76,0.03,p=0.03,respectively).However,the MPV value was similar in both groups(SMD=0.35,95%CI:1.14,0.44,p=0.38).Conclusions:Our results show that NLR and PLR values can predict the onset and prognosis of SSNHL.

Accurate theoretical predictions of desired properties of materials play an important role in materials research and *** learning(ML)can accelerate the materials design by building a model from input *** complex datasets,such as those of crystalline compounds,a vital issue is how to construct low-dimensional representations for input crystal structures with chemical *** this work,we introduce an algebraic topology-based method,called atom-specific persistent homology(ASPH),as a unique representation of crystal *** ASPH can capture both pairwise and many-body interactions and reveal the topology-property relationship of a group of atoms at various *** with composition-based attributes,ASPH-based ML model provides a highly accurate prediction of the formation energy calculated by density functional theory(DFT).After training with more than 30,000 different structure types and compositions,our model achieves a mean absolute error of 61 meV/atom in cross-validation,which outperforms previous work such as Voronoi tessellations and Coulomb matrix method using the same ML algorithm and *** results indicate that the proposed topology-based method provides a powerful computational tool for predicting materials properties compared to previous works.

It has long been proposed that emotionally“prepared”(i.e.,fear-related)stimuli are privileged in the unconscious acquisition of conditioned ***,as fear processing is suggested to highly depend on the coarse,low-spatial-frequency(LSF)components of the fear-related stimuli,it is plausible that LSF may play a unique role in the unconscious fear conditioning even with emotionally neutral ***,we provided empirical evidence that,following classical fear conditioning,an invisible,emotionally neutral conditioned stimulus(CS+)with LSF,but not with high spatial frequency(HSF),can rapidly elicit stronger skin conductance responses(SCRs)and larger pupil diameters than its CS−*** comparison,consciously perceived emotionally neutral CS+with LSF and HSF elicited comparable *** together,these results support that the unconscious fear conditioning does not necessarily entail emotionally prepared stimuli but prioritizes LSF information processing and highlight the crucial distinctions between the unconscious and the conscious fear *** findings not only coincide with the postulation that a rapid,spatial-frequency-dependent subcortical route is engaged in unconscious fear processing but also suggest the existence of multiple routes for conscious fear processing.

Soil microbial biomass is an important indicator to measure the dynamic changes of soil carbon *** is of great signifi cance to understand the dynamics of soil microbial biomass in plantation for rational management and cultivation of *** order to explore the temporal dynamics and infl uencing factors of soil microbial biomass of Keteleeria fortunei *** at diff erent stand ages,the plantation of diff erent ages(young forest,5 years;middle-aged forest,22 years;mature forest,40 years)at the Guangxi Daguishan forest station of China were studied to examine the seasonal variation of their microbial biomass carbon(MBC)and microbial biomass nitrogen(MBN)by chloroform fumigation extraction *** was found that among the forests of diff erent age,MBC and MBN diff ered signifi cantly in the 0–10 cm soil layer,and MBN diff ered signifi cantly in the 10–20 cm soil layer,but there was no signifi cant diff erence in MBC for the 10–20 cm soil layer or in either MBC or MBN for the 20–40 cm soil *** increasing maturity of the forest,MBC gradually decreased in the 0–10 cm soil layer and increased fi rstly and then decreased in the 10–20 cm and 20–40 cm soil layers,and MBN increased fi rstly and then decreased in all three soil *** the soil depth increased,both MBC and MBN gradually decreased for all three *** MBC and MBN basically had the same seasonal variation in all three soil layers of all three forests,i.e.,high in the summer and low in the *** analysis showed that MBC was signifi cantly positively correlated with soil organic matter,total nitrogen,and soil moisture,whereas MBN was signifi cantly positively correlated with soil total *** showed that soil moisture content was the main factor determining the variation of soil microbial biomass by Redundancy *** results showed that the soil properties changed continuously as the young forest grew into the middle-aged forest,which increased soil micro

The Euler angle estimation is a calibration method for vector data measured by the magnetometer on a *** is used to find the relative rotation between the coordinate system of the magnetometer and the satellite(usually determined by Star Imagers).Before launch of the low-orbit,low-inclination Macao Science Satellite-1(known as MSS-1),we simulated the estimation of Euler angles by using the magnetic measurements of the in-orbit Swarm and China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite(noted as CSES),with various data *** this study,11 data sets were designed to analyze the estimation results for the MSS-1 orbit by using a joint estimation method of the geomagnetic field model parameters and Euler *** the model results,we found that all the spatial power spectral lines showed behavior consistent with that of the CHAOS-7.8 model at low degrees(corresponding to large-scale magnetic signals).The spectra of models without global data coverage deviated much more(by a maximum of~10^(4) nT^(2))from those of the CHAOS-7.8 model at higher *** models with global data coverage and with various data combinations,the spectral lines were distributed ***,the models with accordant power spectral distributions demonstrated different Euler angle *** more vector data at higher latitudes were included,the estimated Euler angles varied monotonically in all three *** models with vector data in the same latitude range showed similar Euler angle results,regardless of whether the poleward scalar data were *** largest value difference was found between the models using vector data within±40°latitudes and those using vector data within±60°latitudes,which reached to~28″.Therefore,we concluded that the inversion of the spherical harmonic Gauss coefficients in our tests was mainly affected by the spatial coverage range of the data,whereas the estimation of Euler angles largely depended on the latitude range where the vector d

Hyperhomocysteinemia has been shown to be associated with neurodegenerative diseases; however, lesions or histological changes and mechanisms underlying homocysteine-induced injury in olfactory bulb neurons remain unclear. In this study, hyperhomocysteinemia was induced in apolipoprotein E-deficient mice with 1.7% methionine. Pathological changes in the olfactory bulb were observed through hematoxylin-eosin and Pischingert staining. Cell apoptosis in the olfactory bulb was determined through terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling （TUNEL） staining. Transmission electron microscopy revealed an abnormal ultrastructure of neurons. Furthermore, immunoreactivity and expression of the hairy enhancer of the split 1 （Hesl） and Hess were measured using immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and western blot assay. Our results revealed no significant structural abnormality in the ol- factory bulb of hyperhomocysteinemic mice. However, the number of TUNEL-positive cells increased in the olfactory bulb, lipofuscin and vacuolization were visible in mitochondria, and the expression of Hes1 and Hes5 decreased. These findings confirm that hyperhomocyste- inemia induces injury in olfactory bulb neurons by downregulating Hes1 and Hes5 expression.

Achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality in the building sector is an important component of China’s "dual carbon" *** recent years,the country’s direct carbon emissions in the building sector have hit a plateau while the total emissions still grow ***,the building materials for construction and refrigerants leaked during buildings’ operation also result in greenhouse gas *** achieve the targets set for future low-carbon development,the building sector should feature sufficient demand,decarbonized structure and flexible load." According to the analysis of the emission reduction approaches adopted by different sectors,China’s building sector should make a ceaseless effort to promote building energy conservation,improve electrification,and load flexibility,reform the energy system in rural areas,optimize the heating structure in northern China’s urban areas,as well as reduce the emissions during construction and the non-CO2gas *** the 14th Five-Year period,it is suggested to clarify the total energy consumption and carbon emission targets,adjust the energy structure more vigorously,and draw up more measures to reduce the emissions related to construction and refrigerant leakage.

Near-infrared light(NIR)triggered transdermal drug delivery systems are of great interest due to their on-demand drug release,which enable to enhance drug treatment efficiency as well as reduce side ***,a NIR-triggered microneedle(MN)patch array has been fabricated through depositing the photothermal conversion agent and anti-diabetic drug-loaded polymer vesicles with upper critical solution temperature(UCST)into dissolvable polymer *** UCST-type polymer has a clearing point temperature of 41℃ and the drug-loaded polymer vesicles present excellent NIR-triggered and temperature responsive drug release behavior in vitro due to the disassociation of polymer vesicles upon NIR *** applying MNs to diabetic rats,significant hypoglycemic effect is achieved upon interval NIR irradiation and the blood glucose concentration can decrease to normal state for several hours,which enables to achieve the goal of on-demand drug *** work suggests that the NIR-triggered MN drug release device has a potential application in the treatment of diabetes,especially for those requiring an active drug release manner.
